About: I have grown up around dogs and have had 3 dogs. I am frequently asked to pet-sit and walk dogs by friends and neighbors. I have started taking clients in the past year, where I have no problem staying at their home to care for their pets! I have a part time job and I have flexible hours. My main priority is to be there for all of you and your pets needs! I have lots of experience with all types and behaviors of dogs. I also have two very friendly and social puppies who are great with people
About: I have been a dog lover my whole life. Taking care of neighbor’s pets was my first introduction to responsibility. I was introduced to the importance of feeding, bathing, and exercising pets and going the extra mile to make them feel comfortable while their family was away. Currently I am now a Registered Nurse and my main caretaking involves humans. My flexible schedule leaves me available many days a week to help care for your pet! I currently work full time. However, for me full time only means 3 days a week. With four other days of full day availability leads for a very flexible schedule I am lucky enough to live in a very dog friendly neighborhood with a walking path, fenced in area fresh air and easy access to the beach!

“Maddy was an absolute lifesaver and took such great care of Monty and Piper! We were heading out of town for a wedding when our original sitter plans fell through, and she stepped right in without hesitation. She kept us updated with photos and messages so we always knew how the pups were doing, and we came home to two very happy dogs. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Alison was a great sitter for our anxious bulldog. He felt right at home with her. She took care of his needs and sent updates and photos during the evening. We will definitely book Alison again to watch Theo.”

“Jamie was responsive and worked with us to ensure the dogs were comfortable before our first house-sitting. Thanks for taking good care of them; we look forward to working with you more!”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and have years of experience caring for animals. I truly love being around pets and understand how important it is to find someone dependable to care for them. I currently work fully remote, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to provide attentive care and companionship for your pet. I am a very active person, so I usually go on a long walk or run in the mornings, which I would bring your dog on. I am a full-time student, so I would be at work during the days, but could come back during lunch if desired to let the dogs out, or leave them for about 8 hours. In the evening I would take them on another long walk or maybe to play at the beach. I am flexible and accommodating to individual needs! I would strictly follow the guidelines given to me by the owners with adding caution where I might see needed. For example I would be sure to never take their dog off leash unless we were in a very secure area and the owner had explicitly told me their dog was okay to be off leash in certain areas. I’m also happy to provide phone numbers of people I have pet sat for previously!

“Victoria was amazing! She took our Penny for many walks and send the most amazing pictures. She was available in a short time and Penny loved hanging with her the entire time. I would recommend Victoria 100%.”

“Victoria was excellent! She watched our two huskies over a long weekend while we were away at a wedding. She administered pills, took the dogs on long walks, and took great care of our home. Thank you, Victoria!”

“Erika is incredible, kind and sweet. She took care of Astro like he was her own and gave us the reassurance he was good while we went out. We will be booking her again. Thank you!”

About: I'm a lifelong pet caregiver with over 10 years of daily, hands-on experience caring for dogs. From childhood, my home included dogs and cats. Caring for them has been part of my everyday life. Not just feeding and exercise, but understanding personalities, the importance of routines and individual needs. I'm the pet parent of 3 French Bulldogs whom I've raised from puppyhood. They are now 10 months, 10 years and my eldest just passed the 🌈 bridge. Raising them has given me extensive experience across all life stages. From energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring daily medications, extra patience and care. Because of this, I have advanced experience in the unique needs and care of brachycephalic breeds, including breathing and temperature sensitivities, appropriate exercise levels and age-related health needs. I work from home, which allows me to provide constant supervision (if necessary), flexibility and plenty of attention throughout the day. I'm available for dog walking, drop in visits, day care, and boarding. I'm comfortable following detailed care instructions, medication schedules, and specific routines. My own dogs require precise care plans, so I fully understand how important it is that your pet's instructions are followed exactly. Keeping your pet’s routine as close to how it is when they’re home with you is a priority for me. Following familiar routines helps alleviate their stress, build trust and ease into comfort while they are in my care. My dogs are friendly and accustomed to being around other pets. All of my dogs are intact, so I ask that owner's disclose whether their dogs are intact or in heat prior to booking. This allows me to thoughtfully plan and recommend the most appropriate service - such as visits to your home instead of boarding in mine - so everyone remains safe, comfortable and stress free. Pets in my home are welcome on furniture. I use careful management and positive handling techniques to ensure harmony when pets share space. I'm always mindful of body language and prioritize their safety and comfort. When your pet is in my care, you can expect regular photo updates and communication from arrival to departure so you always feel informed and reassured. I take pride in being attentive, reliable and genuinely invested in your pet's well-being! I work from home full-time, so my schedule is very flexible. I can take 2-3 breaks during the work day to walk your pet if they are staying with me, or stop by your home for potty and walk breaks. If they are staying with me for day care or boarding, I can meet your pet where they are in terms of potty, walk, and play breaks, as well as forced nap times, if necessary. I have several ways to manage the space in my home between pets, to ensure everyone is safe, comfortable and happy. I have 3 crates, baby gates, several pet beds and endless toys. Our yard has a fenced in area to ensure safe potty breaks.
“Daniel was very responsive and provided routine check ins throughout the week he dogsat our pup. We appreciated him sending photos to see how he was doing, and for being flexible and understanding with our schedule. We would gladly ask Daniel to dogsit for us again”

“Emily was an incredible sitter for our chiweenie, Max. He’s a very anxious dog and she was able to not only calm him but make him her bestie in five short days. We appreciated having her in our home: she is neat, punctual and took great care of our space. 10/10 would recommend!!!”

“Grace watched our one year old dog for a night and was wonderful to work with! She comes with a lot of experience, especially with herding dogs which was a bonus for us. Our young border collie loved her right away and we got some nice photos of dog snuggles. From my end, I thought she was reliable and professional. I can honestly say I didn’t worry when we were away. I would definitely work with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Newport East
Lily made it so easy for me to actually enjoy my trip without worrying about Remi every day. Remi can definitely be a handful at times, but Lily handled her so well — and Remi absolutely adored her. That says a lot. 😊 I came home to a happy dog and a calm house, and I’m so grateful. Lily officially feels like a new member of our little family now, and I’d absolutely book with her again.

Gracie communicated well. She was engaging with our dog Sadie. She took care of her ( walked her, feed her, played with her and kept her overnight), The experience was professional, polite and good for Sadie. There are no items needing improvement. I will use Gracie again and recommend her highly. Tom W
We had such a great experience with Nikki! She was incredibly flexible with our last-minute request, super communicative, and so helpful throughout everything. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. We felt completely comfortable leaving our pup with her and would absolutely recommend Nikki to anyone looking for someone reliable and kind!
Maria was fantastic with my dogs! She kept me updated with pics on the dogs while I was gone. You can tell she cares a great deal about making sure they are happy and safe. Dogs were well loved and I was able to enjoy a wedding weekend without stressing. 10/10 would book again.

Maria stayed with our two dogs for two nights… she took good care of them, sent updates and I was able to enjoy my vacation worry free! My only advice would for Maria and Victoria would be to communicate ahead of time which one of you is going to be taking the job. Since all of the reviews mention Victoria, I was surprised when Maria showed up for the meet and greet with no prior mention.

Sophie took excellent care of my two kitties! She provided great updates and lots of photos. I appreciated how receptive she was to all of my tips and tricks for warming up my shy kitty, and he started coming out for her! When I returned the house was nice and clean as I had left it. Thank you Sophie!!

Mia was fantastic with my Labrador! We had a positive meet and greet before our booking, and during her stay with Scout, Mia followed all instructions. Mia provided great care to Scout and I came back to a happy dog. Mia treated my home with respect and I would trust her to sit in my home again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newport East walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newport East maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newport East choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
