Pet care experience
Your dog’s new friend!
I have experience with most breeds as well as with puppies, special needs, and senior dogs. I've been working with dogs for several years and have been using Rover to reach clients for about 8 years. Working with animals is a passion of mine, so I’m happy to be able to dog sit regularly. A bit about me: I moved here (Newport area) recently, but I am originally from Virginia and am 28 years old. I have a history degree and am studying to take the LSAT after working in the museum field for several years. I have a dog of my own and my husband and I live a fairly active life with our dog. My parents have a farm, so I grew up with all kinds of animals (rodents, birds, horses, fish, cats, dogs, lizards, sheep, chickens) and I'm very comfortable with caring for all species of pets. Feel free to message me to discuss your pet’s needs or to arrange a meeting!

Ratings and reviews
Maddy was a lifesaver! She stepped in on short notice to watch Teddy for the night and took such good care of him. When I came back Teddy was happy and relaxed. Highly recommend!

Maddy showed up when she said she would and took good care of our little Westie. When we got back home in the evening, I could see that our pup had made a new friend.

Thanks, Maddy

Maddy is great with our Samoyed and well continue to use her as long as she is available!

Maddy was an absolute lifesaver and took such great care of Monty and Piper! We were heading out of town for a wedding when our original sitter plans fell through, and she stepped right in without hesitation. She kept us updated with photos and messages so we always knew how the pups were doing, and we came home to two very happy dogs. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Maddy was great with Scotty and we would definitely book again!

Schedule
I usually work at the museum Tuesday-Sat, but I can be fairly flexible with my schedule in order to suit your needs. On days that I’m already working, I do have the option to leave on my lunch break to go check on pets.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I can follow any pet care instructions you leave for me. The schedule I follow with my own dog is flexible, so if you board with us, we can easily accommodate your pet’s schedule. Our dog is epileptic and takes daily medication, so I’m comfortable in administering meds.
Pets
A typical day
I walk my dog multiple times per day and we usually stop at a dog park on weekends. I do have a fenced in yard/patio, but it’s small. We also allow pets up on our furniture.
