“Our dog, Noddle, is a cherished member of our family; Patricia treated him the same way. From the initial meeting, Patricia's genuine love of and experience with a variety of animals was obvious. Noodle took to her right away. From the photos including walks on the beach and playtime in addition to the messages she regularly sent us, we could tell that he was happy and pampered. We feel completely comfortable and enthusiastic recommending Patricia and will engage her again. She is great. Lucky Noodle. Lucky us.”

“Tara provided a great experience for Penny when she boarded. She was very attentive, kept her current on her medications and sent along pictures to keep her mom satisfied she was in good hands!”

“Henry loved his stay with Keisha! She was all and more than I could of expected I am absolutely pleased with Keasha and highly recommend her We will surely call on her again ??”

About: We have been together for more than 5 years and share our home with beloved pets. Growing up, Dirk was a vet tech, and his mother, a veterinarian, raised over 15 animals. Mari grew up with a sweet Yorkie. Thanks to our backgrounds, we have extensive experience with pets. To us, pets are more than just animals—they are our children. We will always treat your furry family members with the exact same love and respect that we show our own. While we are currently experiencing an empty nest and missing that daily companionship, we would love the opportunity to care for your pets, meet your needs, and share our love. Please let us know if you are interested, as we would absolutely love to help! Our family is ready to welcome your pet! Dirk is a student at the Naval War College with a very flexible schedule. Our 15-year-old son is in high school and always up for an adventure, while Mari is a stay-at-home mom from Japan who has plenty of time to dedicate to your pet's needs. Because we all love animals, pet care will be a true family team effort! Dirk loves to give plenty of affection, but he is also happy to play rough-and-tumble if your dog prefers active play. Our home features a fully enclosed, 1/3-acre backyard where dogs can safely enjoy fresh air and playtime. We also have access to great nearby walking areas for pets who love to get out and explore. Our family can easily adapt to various activity levels, personalities, and daily routines.
“Natalia was great about sending pictures and videos of my dog while I was away. It was our first time leaving her and she helped put my mind at ease, and it made my kids happy to know their dog was well taken care of!”

“Charlie loves staying with Anne & Joe! Thanks for giving me peace of mind while I was away. I know he's in great hands, having fun, and receiving all the attention and love he needs.”

“Celina was wonderful. She made Maui's time with her and her pup Smokey, so great. Big yard, plenty of room to run and snuggle time when inside. She also made it easier to leave Maui with her wonderful personality and openess to let Maui do things on her timetable. She was very good at sharing photos and videos of Maui's time with her. I will use her services whenever I have to step out of town and not have to worry about my little pupper.”

“Melissa took great care of our dog while we were away for a wedding! Easy to communicate with, sent regular pictures and updates, and our pup came home nice and tired from all the fun!”

“Dana just loves dogs and my dog is always very happy when she is with Dana. I have used her 3 times and would not hesitate to have my dog with her again! She also sends me wonderful pictures. I trust Dana!”

“Rafael was fantastic with Phoebe! From the very start, he was organized, transparent about his home setup, and had a great system in place to keep all the visiting dogs safe and comfortable. During her overnight stay, he sent tons of wonderful photos and videos, and it was so clear that Phoebe was happy, relaxed, and right at home with him. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are so glad we found him. Highly recommend!”

“Nadine has such a soothing and calming energy that she’d make the most anxious dog feel at ease! She took such great care of Sweet Pea and was so in tune with her quirks. I would have Pea stay with her any time without a single worry!”

“Anely was amazing and super responsive! She gave me daily updates on our dog and reassured me throughout his stay. Our dog needs medication and Anely had no issues administering the necessary care. She was super nice and even allowed us to extend our dogs stay last minute, very accommodating! Will definitely be using her again in the future :)”

“Another great stay with Ty and her family! They are so kind and thoughtful in the care they show our Teddy. We are very grateful to have such responsible dogsitters!”

“I was very happy to have Christine watch my dog, Millie, again. Christine and her family are so sweet and I can tell Millie had a blast and was well taken care of. I also appreciate the updates she sends throughout the stay. Would highly recommend.”

“Madison is very reliable and considers what is best for a dog. She and her husband took excellent care of my dog Pumpkin and helped him with his separation anxiety.”
“Brian did a great job boarding Arlo. He was quick to respond to communication, has a large fenced backyard for your dog to roam around, and his dog is super friendly to other visiting dogs. I look forward to boarding Arlo with him again.”

“Thank you for being such a great host family for Jack.... Jack is a loving 5½ year old golden retriever that loves people. He doesn't visit other houses very often, & is rarely away from me. Although Jack was a bit nervous, going to a strange house with people he didn't know, this family made him feel at home. Phil went so far as to sleep on the couch in the same room as Jack. I will definitely use this family in the future & highly recommend them if your looking for a loving family for your pup.... Thank you again”

“Grace is great! She took the time to meet me and my dog ahead of time to make sure they were a good fit. She sent lots of photos and videos of Willie out on walks and at the park. It seems like he had a fun weekend thanks to Grace!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Prudence Island home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Prudence Island.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Prudence Island sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in RI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
