“JaNiya was amazing with my dog, Goose! I can always tell if he’s been well taken care of by how calm he is when I return from work. She even gave some love to my cat, too!”

“Hal took the time to really understand my dog's needs. He was always professional and very easy to work with. He sent me updates every time he walked Charleigh, and let me know when she was having an off day, which is very important to me as a senior dog owner. Charleigh also loved him!! I highly recommend Hal for taking care of your pet.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and genuinely love spending time with dogs. I’m a teacher, so I’m off during the summer and looking to fill my extra time doing something I enjoy — caring for pets! I’m experienced with walks, feeding routines, playtime, and giving dogs lots of love and attention. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each dog’s personality and needs, and I want every pet to feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Since I’m a teacher, I have a very open and flexible schedule during the summer. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine, and I’m excited to spend my extra time staying active with walks, drop-ins, and quality time with pets. I’m available most weekdays and weekends and can be flexible with different schedules and routines to help pets feel comfortable and cared for. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their normal routine consistent so they feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, walk routines, medications if needed, and making sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I’m very responsible, respectful of people’s homes, and attentive to safety during walks and visits. I also like to send updates and photos so owners can feel reassured while they’re away.
About: Hi there! My name is Kendall, and I’m a dedicated dog lover with professional experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I’ve worked in doggy daycares and boarding facilities, giving me firsthand experience managing group play, monitoring behavior, and ensuring the safety and happiness of every pup. I’m a recent college graduate from UTC with a degree in environmental science with cum laude. While I’m still figuring out life, I’d love to help you and your furry friends feel loved and safe while you’re away. As the proud owner of a high-energy pit mix named Maple, I understand how important it is for dogs to get the right balance of exercise, attention, and love. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, active play, or snuggles on the couch, I’ll tailor my care to meet their unique needs. I also have experience with puppies, high-energy breeds, dogs recovering from health issues, and even giving proper medication, so you can trust me to handle any situation with patience and care. I can guarantee that your pup will feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I do require that your pup be friendly with other dogs as mine is extremely friendly and loves to play. While I do not have the backyard many others have, it doesn’t mean the dogs I sit don’t get exercise. I believe proper exercise and enrichment is done outside of the home. So I would load up my dog Maple and yours in the car and drive to a fun park for a long walk or a hiking trail. Unless specifically stated, your dog wouldn’t be in a crate and is allowed to sleep with us at night if they want to. I like to keep things as close to their usual as I can. Since I just graduated from UTC, I’m figuring life out, so my availability is pretty good! I’m usually free all mornings and afternoons. Please feel free to text me for a more in depth response of my availability! It never hurts to ask! Your dog and I may play all day, lounge on the couch, play fetch, go on walks, or keep up with training. I love all dog personalities and will adapt to each one. Whatever the dog is down for, I’m down for.
About: I have been animal sitting since I was 16 years old. I am a cat lover through and through, but I also love dog walking and playing with dogs! I am good at providing medicine for animals, and I really thrive with senior animals. I am a part time worker, so in the week day I am more free to be with your pets! I am pretty flexible as well, and I can work around your schedule. When I am in my clients home, I am very respectful of your space and only go where is necessary. I am comfortable spending the night as well as only jumping in for a little bit. I love taking dogs on trails to go for a run, and providing whatever they need!
About: I’ve been a pet owner since I was a child and grew up on a farm, where caring for animals was part of my daily life. I had Boston Terriers along with a variety of other animals, and they were my responsibility, so I learned early on how to read animal behavior, stay patient, and provide consistent care. What sets me apart is that my schedule allows me to be flexible. I’m also reliable and able to give pets the attention they deserve. I’m comfortable working with dogs of all ages, including puppies who need structure and basic training, as well as senior dogs who may require a slower pace, extra patience, or medication routines. I treat every pet like they’re my own and focus on creating a calm, safe, and dependable environment so both pets and owners feel at ease. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine alongside grad school. I plan my schedule so I’m available for morning, midday, and evening visits, and I keep my availability updated to stay consistent. During the week, I balance classes with pet care by organizing my day around walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. I also keep my weekends more open, which allows me to take on additional bookings, longer visits, or overnight care. I tailor my care based on each pet’s routine and comfort level, whether I’m in my home or a client’s home. My goal is to keep things as consistent and stress-free as possible. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their pet’s normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications. I also make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship, while keeping their environment clean and secure. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, calm, and supervised environment where they can feel comfortable. I make sure they get regular walks, structured feeding times, and lots of interaction, while also giving them space to relax if needed. I’m attentive to each pet’s behavior and needs, whether that’s high-energy play, basic puppy routines, or slower, gentle care for senior pets. My focus is always on making pets feel safe, cared for, and at home.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
