“I really enjoyed working with JaNiya this past week as she performed drop in visits for our cat, Mae-C. Mae-C has a new friend now and the two of them played together and enjoyed an hour long visit each day interacting with treats, games, grooming and music. JaNiya also helped with a few light chores around the house like checking the mail and watering the plants. She was also very accommodating and our cat just loves her. We have two more trips before the end of the year and we will definitely check her availability. JaNiya, we really appreciate you. Thanks so much.”

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life. Starting from a young age I would walk the neighbors dog and house sit. I’ve worked with training puppies and adolescent dogs. Puppies to seniors, I love them all!!! . Hanging out, walking or watching your fur baby will fall easily into our everyday life. My boys and I go to the dog park twice a day for energy release! My apartment is puppy proofed! Walks always on a leash, in case a yard is not available. Couch and bed sleeping is fine with me if it helps make everyone comfortable. If I go to a clients home, I hold the upmost respect for the property.
“Addisen was great. It was not ideal to leave my shy cat but she took time with him, and kept me updated. She even brought in a delivery or two that came while I was gone.”

“Thank you, Kirsten, for looking after my dear companion in my absence. The daily notes and images really helped me feel at ease. Kirsten is personable, competent and, above all, reliable. My kitty warmed to her immediately.”

“Shelby has watched the pups for us while out of town a few times. Not only do the dogs love her but also we get to enjoy ourselves with the peace of mind that the doggies are being well loved and taken care of. They are always happy and content when we return home.”

“We had Becca come for a meet and greet while we were home to meet our pack and the setup for future house sitting. She was very communicative prior to the visit and really loved on our furbabies during the visit. We are looking forward to planning our trip and for Becca to stay with our furbabies.”

“Kiara was available for us when our pet sitter quit last minute. We were across the country, and Kiara help ease the stress. We were having to have a friend help but thankfully Kiara was available to take over last minute the next morning. She made sure our dogs were taken care of sent adorable photos. She was thoughtful and always considered their well being. We would definitely use Kiara again!”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for awhile, and I absolutely love forming bonds with animals! I’ll be able to provide my reference list if that makes you feel more comfortable! Hey guys! So my schedule is very flexible this summer. I am taking summer classes at UTC on Monday and Wednesday from around 9am-2pm!! I have my own dog, a 9 month old golden doodle, and he is my whole life! And with my schedule I am able to give him all the playtime and care he needs, and I’ll do the same for your animals!! I have a fenced in yard at my house that I let my baby run around it! I also take him on walks, to the dog park, and on hikes for him to get some fresh air! For your animal, I can fill whatever accommodations you need me to, whether that be walking the animal, putting him in the crate, or whatever else you may have in mind!
About: I have taken care of my family's dogs and cats from a young age. I also have extensive experience caring for family and friend's pets when they travel. Recently I have become a dog mom of Ginger, who is an energetic English Setter! I work 9-5 during the week but have lots of availability on weekends and after work hours to take good care of your furry friends! I will take great care of your pet and can be flexible to their needs. If your dog is sociable, I also have a friendly pup of my own to keep yours company! I am happy to feed your pets and administer any medications during my service. I also love walking dogs and/or playing fetch with them. I am used to dogs with high energy, as my own is very energetic, however I’m also more than happy to just relax with more mellow pets.

About: Dogs are life! Growing up, I have always had at least one dog that was part of the family. My love for these animals extended into college, where I began rescuing and fostering dogs with Circle of Friends Animal Society. I've been with them since 2010, and have personally rescued, trained, and adopted out 150+ dogs. Apart from my volunteer work with COFAS, I also worked for "Fetch the Leash" in Athens, GA. My time as an animal caretaker has allowed me to gain experience working with a variety of breeds and temperaments. The only thing greater than my knowledge of "mans best friend" is my PASSION for these animals. I currently have two dogs that I love dearly--I promise to love your furkids the same!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Powells Crossroads. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
