“I cannot express how grateful we are to have found Jake! We were unexpectedly put in a very stressful situation when our longtime dog sitter became unavailable one week into our two week trip. We were facing the possibility of having to cancel the remainder of our plans and return home. In over 15 years of having multiple dogs, I have ALWAYS done a meet and greet and spent considerable time walking a new sitter through our home, routines, and VERY specific instructions. We don't have just one or two dogs. We have a six pack, each with very different personalities, routines, and needs! We had six to eight people familiar with our dogs who unfortunately weren't available to step in. Thankfully, my sister had recently met Jake through Rover for her own dogs and had a wonderful interaction. While that gave us some reassurance, Jake had never been to our home or met any of our dogs! This was a big change for me (and the dogs). Jake and I spent nearly an hour on the phone going through everything. He was competent, patient, communicative, supportive, and, most importantly, willing to step into a situation that was far from ordinary. Jake succeeded, our dogs succeeded, and we are very very blessed for this outcome. One more thing worth mentioning. I have always chosen female dog sitters, simply because I assumed that was the most comfortable fit for our household and dogs. Well, Jake has now changed my perspective on that. Thank you, Jake, for turning a potentially disastrous situation into such a positive experience!”

About: My friends and family call me Tom Care-a-lot, Tom the Mom, and The Dog Whisperer. I am often told I am too nice, but sometimes kindness and patience can be what someone needs to be a good caregiver. I have worked at East Memphis Pet Hospital & Resort as a Daycare and Kennel worker, and occasionally perform Vet Tech duties such as administering medication, which has taught me a lot about caring for multiple dogs and adapting to each dogs' individual needs. I have also worked for GoDog West Nashville and Morris Animal Inn. To be responsible for another life sometimes means that you have to be flexible, I understand if something comes up last minute, it happens; I will be as flexible as you and your dogs' needs. Your dog will be in good-hearted, caring hands while you are doing what you need to do. Your dogs and their home will be safe, you can leave it to me. I will respond to booking requests with 12-24 hours if not immediately. If something doesn’t work in my schedule I will let you know ahead of time unless there is an emergency. I work Freelance from home (remote), so my hours are flexible. I have obligations with other people and clients but I will make any booking done through the app, if they are accepted and scheduled. Failure to contact about a booking before service will result in a cancellation and YOU will be charged a cancellation fee and will take all responsibility for your pet(s). I treat them with respect, I will not hit or discipline them physically, if you instruct me to do so I will decline and cancel the stay or appointment. I do not tolerate abuse or neglect. I will clean up if they have an accident and my motto is to “leave the house roughly in the same state you came/found it in”. I will use your amenities like washer/dryer/sink/shower/dishwasher if I am staying multiple days or overnight. I will do my best to clean up after myself but I cannot conform to all expectations of perfection. Make sure there are no illegal drugs or weapons in the residence (weapons must be away and sealed in a secure location, if any are in the residence) failure to comply with this will result in an immediate cancellation and it will be on YOU.

About: I have worked at the pet shop in town for almost 5 years. I have learned a lot about nutrition and am here to help with that as well. I have always loved dogs & animals. I have 3 dogs now and use to have cats growing up. I have always helped family/ friends with their pets. My cousins would call me “ the dog whisperer” I am very patient and understanding- a dog sometimes is anxious just like us humans. I think taking time out of the day and using interactive toys is so important for stimulation and keeping them busy. I usually am off on sunday & wednesday. I typically work in the morning until 3pm. Can do walks/feed them/ check in’s on the dogs after work. I have lots of grass outside & a gate inside.I would play with them outside, make sure they have a harness and a longer line ( so they are safe)& take them for walks. I can brush the dogs as well. I do prefer to stop at the clients house. I have 2 dogs at my house - it can be a lot. In the clients house I would first make sure the dog goes outside to the bathroom upon arrival. I would take them for a walk, play with the dogs outside( depending on the gate situation) Make sure they have lots of water, food & i can brush them.

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, and fish. I’m attentive, reliable, and treat every animal like my own! I currently have a 1 year old puppy. I work part-time as a mental health therapist, which gives me a flexible schedule. I'm available for pet care during weekdays and evenings. About: I own a 4 year old dog of my own. Worked at a puppy boutique caring, walking, feeding, participating in vet nights & grooming/bathing young puppies. i have dog sat a lot of family & friends dogs. I am currently working part-time so can be flexible. I am able to do drop ins, but also walking and pet-sitting. I love dogs so it is a privilege to spend time with them! I live in an apartment with my own dog who is great with other dogs. I walk dogs as much as the owner asks, take them out frequently, do brain stimulating activities, & play with them.

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, including a Black Lab, Miniature Pinscher, Rottweiler, and German Shepherd. Being around such different breeds has taught me that every dog has their own personality, energy level, quirks, and way of showing you what they need. I also have hands-on experience caring for dogs in my family. I regularly help care for my sister’s two dogs—a 1-year-old Corgi and a 13-year-old English Bulldog. Having both a young, energetic dog and a senior dog has given me an appreciation for how different their needs can be. One may want to play, explore, and keep you moving, while the other may need a slower pace, extra patience, comfort, and a little more attention. I also frequently care for a French Bulldog in my family when his dad needs someone he trusts to look after him. About: I have been raised around dogs my entire life and have over 11 years of hands-on dog care experience. To me, dogs aren’t just animals but can be family, loyal friends…the closest companions in our lives. I treat every guest pup with the exact same love, respect, and careful attention I give my own I work a flexible 9-5 job where there can be a day or two for me to work remotely. I’m open to boarding those days and the weekends too! I have two dogs in my loft currently. One senior 14-year old morkie and a 3-year old English pointer. Both are trained and don’t bother others. If crates are needed, I have one.

About: I took care of my fur baby for 12+ years. I adopted her at 5 months old and trained her from a puppy to a happy, well behaved (and admittedly spoiled) furry family member. I find myself playing with the dog at friends houses, I just bond with them. All sizes, all breeds, they all just want love I was laid off from my corporate job, so while looking for my next role I wanted to dedicate time to doing something I love and helping out people who need to make sure their loved ones are taken care of I have helped my wife (also on Rover) with drop in visits and watching/walking dogs.
