Stacey took wonderful care of our senior Boxer, Jingles, while we were away on an international trip. From the moment we met her, we knew Jingles would be in caring and capable hands. Jingles is an older dog with some special needs, including frequent potty breaks and a few age-related quirks, and Stacey handled everything with patience, kindness, and genuine affection. She kept us updated, gave us great peace of mind while we were traveling, and treated Jingles like she was her own. The biggest compliment I can give is that when we got home, Jingles spent the evening and the next morning walking around the house looking for Stacey. It's obvious they formed a special bond during the week, and that says everything about the love and attention Stacey gave her. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful care Stacey provided and would not hesitate to book her again. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your pet, I highly recommend Stacey.

Vonna was a blessing! She spoiled my babies and left me feeling at ease while we were away. She truly loves animals and took extra time and energy to connect with my older dog who is slow to warm up to new people. She even hand fed him to make sure he ate. They were best friends after day one. She communicates well, and I got a lot of pictures and updates. My house was as clean as when I left it. I highly recommend her!

About: When I was in high school I took 3 years of veterinary technician class and got my cva. I’ve worked at a vet clinic taking care boarding and hospital pets for 4 years. I’ve own my own dogs and even fostered some. I’m currently unemployed but I am a single mother so I have plenty time for any scheduling and time for your furry babies. At the moment I’m available for most times. I don’t have a fenced in yard and I have a roommate, who has a cat, and two young children so I won’t be providing any boarding services at my home.

Pennie was everything my dogs and I needed! From the first contact to the very end she was responsive and great to work with. She was able to handle my overly excited dogs when she arrived, her calm demeanor helped them settle quickly. Pennie kept their normal schedule and my dogs were completely content that I was away, this made my very happy and settled my nerves about leaving them. Pennie will be my go to for now on.

Cathy provided frequent text and photo updates of how our fur babies were doing throughout the entire trip which to help to set our minds at ease. We will not hesitate to book with her in the future and your pets would be lucky to have her stay over. ?

She loves animals and immediately took to our dachshunds and they really liked her as well. The pups were great when we arrived home and our house looked like we never left. I would definitely use Erin again if need be and highly recommend her.

About: Hi y’all! I’ve been caring for dogs and other animals since I was 10 years old. I grew up on a farm for several years of my life and I got to care for many different animals! Cats, dogs, chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits, and a pony. I’ve also helped family and friends with their farm animals and pets as well. Friends, neighbors, family, and some strangers have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and care for their pets while they were away. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, including energetic puppies and senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. I’m reliable, attentive, and happy to provide updates and photos so pet parents can have peace of mind while they’re away. My last dog Buddy was actually 15 years old and I learned to take care of him very well. He has since passed away but my experiences and memories with him has made my love of animals grow even more! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I do my best to be flexible and accommodate each pet’s needs while providing reliable, consistent care and attention. I love all animals so they will all be getting the love and attention they need and want from me. I could cuddle all day🥰 Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions I’m given regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and routines to help pets feel comfortable and secure around me. During walks and visits, I stay attentive to my surroundings and your pet’s behavior to ensure they remain safe at all times when they are with me. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away from your fur babies.

About: I’m patient with all animals and love their energy they bring to my life. I’ve cared for animals since I was 2 years old and I’ve been connected with them ever since. I currently work a full time job that does allow me to have free time after work or weekends to care for cats and/or dogs in my free time. Although I don’t have a fenced area at my apartment complex I do have plenty of space to walk and we can always go to a park enjoying the scenery.

About: Hi! My name is Mckenzie I’m a caring, reliable, and attentive pet sitter who treats every pet like family. I specialize in personalized, one-on-one care, taking the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and individual needs. From walks and playtime to feeding, medication routines, and lots of love, I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. 🐾❤️ My Availability As a college student balancing classes with a part-time job, my weekday schedule is somewhat limited during the afternoon. While extended weekday afternoon stays during my school/work hours aren’t the best fit for my schedule, pop-in visits during the day are absolutely welcome for things like potty breaks, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. Overnight stays are also welcome, along with evening and weekend care. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s specific routine and find an arrangement that works well for everyone. 🐾 My Top Priorities When caring for your pets, my top priorities are safety, communication, and trust. I understand that inviting someone to care for your pets is a responsibility that requires confidence and peace of mind, and I take that responsibility seriously. Safety always comes first. I make sure pets are cared for according to their individual routines, environments, and needs while remaining attentive to potential risks or changes in behavior. Communication is essential to providing excellent care. I keep owners informed with timely updates and am proactive about communicating any questions, concerns, or changes I notice while they’re away. Most importantly, I strive to build trust with both pets and their owners. I treat every animal with patience, kindness, and respect while following the instructions and routines provided by their family. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing that your pet is in caring, dependable hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Plant City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Plant City on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,920 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Plant City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Plant City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Plant City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plant City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Plant City. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
