I can’t help but speak to an animal in high pitch tones as well as full on conversation with them like they’re answering me! Anything to get a head twist or a butt wiggle.

“I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I rarely go on trips together. We have three dogs, they are all different ages with different care levels, and finding someone to care for them has always been challenging. Our family planned to go on an Alaskan cruise, and we decided to join them. We reached out to Karen and she was SO responsive. She got back to us quickly and agreed to do a meet and greet. Our dogs LOVED her immediately. We have a 6 year old street dog whom we rescued from Mexico. He is very sweet but is slow to warm up to people. Within a few minutes of Karen being at the house he was begging her for pets. It was decided right then that Karen would be watching our fur babies. Fast forward a few weeks and we are all lined up and ready to go on our trip. We’ve done a pack walk with Karen and have walked her through their daily needs. Karen is very thorough and wants as much information about your pets as she can get. To make sure everyone was good to go, my husband and I took our senior dog to the vet to get her arthritis shot. We wanted to make sure she would be comfortable while we were gone. At the vet appointment, we got heartbreaking news. Our veterinarian had a difficult and honest conversation with us about our dog’s health and quality of life. Our senior was 19 years old and had started experiencing some cogitative decline and mobility issues. After several long discussions and uncertainty about our pup’s health while we would be gone, we decided it was time to allow our sweet baby to cross the rainbow bridge. We were devastated and, as you could imagine, were experiencing some anxiety and uncertainty about leaving the other two dogs. When we explained to Karen what happened, she provided so much comfort and security. She let us know that there wasn’t any pressure to go on the trip and assured us that if we did, she would make sure our dogs were well loved on. We ended up going to Alaska. During our trip, Karen sent us photos and videos, and made sure to give us daily updates. If we request additional photos or videos, she always sent them no questions asked. She went out of her way to make us feel at ease, and it really helped give us the space and peace of mind to process everything that happened. Having Karen care for our fur babies not only allowed us to go on a family trip, it’s also allowed us to grieve our loss without having to carry the stress of the day-to-day and making sure the other dogs were taken care of. It goes without saying, but we will definitely book with Karen again. If you’re considering hiring Karen for your pets, I highly recommend it. You will be a so happy you did. Thank you Karen. We truly appreciate you, and the love and care you extend to Doodle and Wendi while we were gone.”

About: I’ve seen all kinds of shenanigans while caring for pets and give special attention as needed, including administering meds through syringe, pills cleverly placed in cheese or food, companionship and present time, play time, feeding pet pigs in a manner that avoids food battles and many more! About: Hello, my name is Kathy. I am a owner of an adorable black cat named Roger. Pets love me so much friends call me the pied piper when their dogs follow me around. I have 6 current clients that I pet sit for. Duties include, letting dogs out to go potty, taking for walks, feeding and staying overnight as needed. I can even bring in the mail and water your plants as needed. I prefer to work in Vancouver but am willing to travel to ridgefield, camas and battleground as well. Travel to Portland will cost an additional $10 each day for travel. I work part time but have a flexible schedule and can work around your pets needs. I am available for overnights m-s except for when traveling on vacation. I love taking your dogs for walks and playing them at home. I love to snuggle with your cats and dogs and will make sure they are well cared for and loved.

About: Besides my experience with my own pets I began volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society at 17. After that I went on to dog sit for various different families part time for around 3 years. I have a big window of availability currently. I’m going back to school in the fall, but until then I am just working part time. I work for my grandpa, so my schedule is super flexible! When I dog sit in the clients home I will follow your instructional list for feeding/walks/ activities/ grooming ect. I have car so I can take your pup to nearby parks/ dog parks if you would like, or just for a classic stroll around your neighborhood if you prefer. For clients that would prefer I take car if you dog in my home I have a fenced in back yard and live near several park so we can go on several adventures. Or just chill at home if you have a senior/ more low energy dog. My only deal breaker is that your dog isn’t reactive towards cats.

About: I already have a lot of experience with animal care, and now that I'm a professional housesitter, my experience with all kinds of dogs and cats is surging. I grew up with dogs, a long-term pet bird (a cockatiel), and I raised rabbits in rabbit 4H as a child. As an adult, I'd cared for several different cats, dogs, and a rabbit for friends and roommates, even before starting housesitting. I've given pills to dogs and cats, and administered insulin to an elderly cat. Since moving to Oregon in July 2026, my schedule has filled up so fast with several amazing house and pet sits. I'm taking care small dogs, large dogs, calm dogs, and high-energy dogs. I adapt walking strategy to dog's reactivity, according to the owner's guidance and everything else I observe in real time. And if you count your beloved plants as part of the family, I understand. I've got experience caring for those, too! I can take care of your chickens and keep your garden going, no problem. While I loved that city, I was consistently in 12-month apartment leases, and I started to need more flexibility and options. So, I'm enjoying this new chapter and drinking in as much as I can of Oregon and the surrounding states. I have pretty extensive gardening knowledge, having taken a large chunk of the WSU home horticulture and master gardener's training program. I've grown a lot of different vegetables and berries, and I can care for flowers and ornamentals, too! I love plants and would very much enjoy spending time in your garden, monitoring plant health and giving good morning waterings, etc.
