Gloria did a great job with our three dogs, Ebony, Charlie and Jet. They were well fed. They were walked and were well cared for and loved. She kept us updated on how they were doing when we asked her. She followed the instructions perfectly. Gloria went above and beyond as one of our dogs, jet, has terrible separation anxiety, and Gloria managed it very well and is quite the pro..Gloria went above and beyond . She’s very professional and reliable. She was able to meet us early in the morning and waited for us to get home. She reviewed all the instructions before we left and asked us the questions she needed answered. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gloria and have her come and take care of our three fuzz buckets AKA Ebony, Charlie and Jet again.

Joyce is excellent! We left our two babies with her and she treated them with love and care. She is an extremely caring person and treats others' animals as if they were her own. She kept in regular contact with us during our trip and soon became our dogs best friend! Would highly recommend her for sitting or walking your animals. She's great!!

Cate is absolutely amazing with our shy dog and cat, and we feel good knowing they’re in great hands while we are away. We are especially grateful Cate was able to accommodate a last-minute time change for our most recent trip. It’s such a relief to have someone so reliable and caring! Highly recommend!

Kate is wonderful! She cared for our two fur-babies, in our home, for five days. We also enjoyed three home play dates before our trip. I am convinced that my babies love her more. She took great care of our home and pups. I highly recommend her services. She is super clean, friendly, personable, and intelligent. Only a few things i love about Kate in the short time we’ve been acquainted. I might schedule more playdates just to have her over. Thank you Kate!!! You are a gem. 🐾💕🏡❤️🥇

Amanda was awesome! She took really good care of our puppies and our pig! She gave them lots of love, played with them, and made sure they were happy and well fed. One of our puppies has had two spinal surgeries so requires one to be really careful with steps and care. Amanda did a great job of being careful with her, and making sure she was safe.

I felt confident with Bailey that our dogs would receive great and compassionate care while we were gone. I won’t hesitate to use her to watch our dogs on future trips we take

Hannah was great with my 3 dogs and cat! One of my dachshunds has anxiety and he took right to her, which was amazing! She shared pics of them with me frequently, went above and beyond and stayed later because my flight came in at midnight, and the house was nice and tidy when I got home. Thank you Hannah!

I would definitely recommend Erin... we had a weekend trip planned and due to the distance decided better to leave our Golden Retriever, Jack, home. We contacted Erin for in home pet sitting, she came to the house for a meet and greet a few weeks prior to the stay, she was great from the start. Jack immediately took to her as well as our kitty, Griffin. We received lots of pictures from Erin of Jack and Griffin while on our trip, which put our minds at ease while being away. When we arrived home I could tell there must have been lots of play time because Jack was calm and relaxed. Our house was just as we left it. Wonderful experience! I will definitely be calling Erin on our next trip away. Thank you Erin.

About: I am a huge pet person, the kind that will go to someone's house and greet the pets first! I have helped my friends with all the pet ownership trials and tribulations from vet visits to long upset tummy nights and so much more! I have over 8 years experience as an owner and longer as a caretaker for pets! I work currently part time in the Caregiving field with humans, so I am often all over the area working. I have lots of afternoons and evenings to fill with loving pets and cozy relaxing! :) I dont care for pets in my own home currently as I rent, but I will be happy to check in - stay overnight - drop in for feedings and litter cleaning - make sure everyone is safe and happy.

We came home from a 5 day trip to our two happy, healthy dogs and an accident-free house :) We'll 100% be requesting Mark again and have already recommended him to our friends!

About: I grew up on a rural farm, so animal care is no stranger to me! I was also an active participant in 4-H and FFA. I love caring for peoples' fur babies. I have several references as well. I just moved to Kelso and I am staying with family. I'd love to spend time caring for animals and enjoying them. I currently dont have a day job as I just moved, so I have a lot of free time! I am great at following care plans and am very deta oriented. Your animals are safe and sound with me! I frequently am told that I give the animals around me TOO much love.

About: Hey there fury friends and owners! I'm Bailey and I love animals, I have car, dog, bird and farm animal experience. I would love to help youtake care of yours. I'm so looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for stopping by my page. My availability currently is pretty open. I’m available part-time on a weekly service-perhaps every couple days if needed. It all depends on the location and services needed. I’m unsure how many pets I’m willing to take on at the moment. I can’t help but speak to an animal in high pitch tones as well as full on conversation with them like they’re answering me! Anything to get a head twist or a butt wiggle.

About: Ask for my promo code for $20 off your first booking!! Hello, I am a full time student as well as a momma! I am home every weekend as well as holidays and love animals so this is a perfect fit! I do have the whole summer off as well! All pets are welcome but I do require that they be friendly if they are staying overnight at my home because I have dogs of my own! My hours are very flexible, so please feel free to message me if you have any questions about my schedule! I understand pets are family and I will take care of them and treat them as such! Your little ones will be in great hands with me! Thank you! I go to school online and I work as a preschool teacher so I’m home all summer, holidays and weekends with my pup and kid. All dogs are fed separately to prevent any mishaps! If for any reason I have to leave the pups unsupervised my dogs have kennels that they go in to make sure the pups aren’t unsupervised together.

FAQs for House Sitting - Rose Valley

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 854 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rose Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rose Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rose Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rose Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rose Valley. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
