“This was the second time Gloria stayed at our house. I felt our beloved cat, BJ, was in excellent hands with Gloria. When we returned, the house was just as we left it, litter boxes scooped, and BJ was relaxed, fed, and happy (the most important thing)! It was as though we had never left! We felt bad because, while we were gone, our TV died and our air conditioning wasn't working, but Gloria took it in stride. We and BJ hope Gloria will house/cat-sit again for us in the future (TV and heat pump have both been replaced!). Thank you, Gloria.”

“We love having Joyce take care of our furry family! Cooper and Nero look forward to her visits and we always get updates on how they’re doing. We will definitely book with her every time we can!”

“My gosh , Jane was fantastic! My dog has never been so relaxed when I got home. He was happy to see me but not desperately so. Her attention to detail fit perfectly with my pages of instruction. Her calm and peaceful demeanor infused our whole house. It’s so wonderful to be able to leave your fur baby with out worry when you travel. I hope Jane is always available when we need her.”

“Hannah is an exceptional caregiver to your four legged friends. She has been so friendly and professional the entire time. Our dog is older and has some special care instructions she was so understanding and kind. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Kate, provided the needed care for our dog Pluto. She met with us prior to sitting dates, listened to our needs. Communication thru care was great. Played with our pet, talked/praised him during care. Watched over home, left us at ease knowing her professional poise. Thank you Kate! DW.”

“Cate was amazing with our three doggos. I came home from a weekend of being out of town to a happy home and happy doggos! She was responsive to messages and sent pics of our fur babies to put out minds at ease while away! Would definitely recommend Cate for your pet needs ♥️”

About: I am a huge pet person, the kind that will go to someone's house and greet the pets first! I have helped my friends with all the pet ownership trials and tribulations from vet visits to long upset tummy nights and so much more! I have over 8 years experience as an owner and longer as a caretaker for pets! I work currently part time in the Caregiving field with humans, so I am often all over the area working. I have lots of afternoons and evenings to fill with loving pets and cozy relaxing! :) I dont care for pets in my own home currently as I rent, but I will be happy to check in - stay overnight - drop in for feedings and litter cleaning - make sure everyone is safe and happy.

“Bailey watched our two dogs while we left on a long weekend trip. She was very professional, on time and provided multiple pictures and updates. I felt confident with Bailey that our dogs would receive great and compassionate care while we were gone. I won’t hesitate to use her to watch our dogs on future trips we take”

“Erin was perfect! She gave us updates regularly and was the best house guest, the house was in better condition than it was when we left. She was flexible on the cost too because we have a ridiculous amount of fur babies which we really appreciated. She even brought in mail without being asked!! We will definitely be asking her to care for our pets again!!”

About: I have been caring for animals for most of my life. We had 2 Doberman when I was a baby which led to me always having a dog or cat in my life. I'd love to meet yours! I will be the only walker handling your pets through this profile. I am available for short, elderly walks to long, youthful puppy runs. Ready to talk, feel free to shoot a message over to talk about your needs for your animals :D I will be the only walker handling your pets through this profile. I like to ensure your pet has a clean, safe environment. All hazards will be picked up promptly, as well as any potty spotted in the yard or accidents in the house.
“Kris did a wonderful job dogsitting my 2 corgis and was very respectful of my house. This was a last minute reservation and he was prompt in responding and scheduling a greet in time of the reservation. I would recommend him and will schedule again.”

“Hannah was AMAZING. She was so patient with our elderly fella who has accidents in the house, and with our temperamental little girl who takes a while to work warm up. I got multiple updates a day on how things were doing, including pictures. When we got home, she had left pet tv on for the dogs which was just the sweetest thing. She even went above and beyond to capture an escaped chicken and block up the spot she escaped from. Our house was exactly the way we left it, you couldn’t even tell someone had been here. I’m so thankful we found Hannah and will definitely be using her again!”
“Our dogs loved Mark! He's friendly, professional, and triple-checked the notes we left to make sure the dogs maintained their daily routine! We came home from a 5 day trip to our two happy, healthy dogs and an accident-free house :) We'll 100% be requesting Mark again and have already recommended him to our friends!”

About: I grew up on a rural farm, so animal care is no stranger to me! I was also an active participant in 4-H and FFA. I love caring for peoples' fur babies. I have several references as well. I just moved to Kelso and I am staying with family. I'd love to spend time caring for animals and enjoying them. I currently dont have a day job as I just moved, so I have a lot of free time! I am great at following care plans and am very deta oriented. Your animals are safe and sound with me! I frequently am told that I give the animals around me TOO much love.
“Amanda was awesome! She took really good care of our puppies and our pig! She gave them lots of love, played with them, and made sure they were happy and well fed. One of our puppies has had two spinal surgeries so requires one to be really careful with steps and care. Amanda did a great job of being careful with her, and making sure she was safe.”

About: I have a strong passion for taking care of animals, in the future I am wanting to become a Veterinary Technician. Last year I volunteered at my local humane society! I was a dog handler and I enjoyed every second of it. I'm currently employed and am looking to put my passion for animals to good use outside of work. I do work 7am-3pm Monday-Friday but I still have plenty of time for your furry friends after I get off or on weekends. In my experience, I think it's important to treat every animal like its your own. It is very important to make sure your pet feels comfortable and properly taken care of. I want to ensure this by maintaining their usual routine and providing plenty of play time and attention. I will make sure to be very attentive to their needs and provide them with the highest level of care!

About: Ask for my promo code for $20 off your first booking!! Hello, I am a full time student as well as a momma! I am home every weekend as well as holidays and love animals so this is a perfect fit! I do have the whole summer off as well! All pets are welcome but I do require that they be friendly if they are staying overnight at my home because I have dogs of my own! My hours are very flexible, so please feel free to message me if you have any questions about my schedule! I understand pets are family and I will take care of them and treat them as such! Your little ones will be in great hands with me! Thank you! I go to school online and I work as a preschool teacher so I’m home all summer, holidays and weekends with my pup and kid. All dogs are fed separately to prevent any mishaps! If for any reason I have to leave the pups unsupervised my dogs have kennels that they go in to make sure the pups aren’t unsupervised together.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Longview
Gloria has house- and cat-sat for me several times, and she does a perfect job every time! My cat is always happy and relaxed when I get home, and I love receiving pictures of him while I’m away. She keeps the house tidy, the litter boxes are always scooped, and everything is so well cared for that it’s as though we never even left. I trust her completely and highly recommend her! She is the BEST!!

This was our first time blindly booking a dog sitter through Rover and we were pleasantly surprised! Hannah was very responsive and sent updates and photos daily, which we really appreciated! She was super respectful and the house looked exactly the way it did when we left. We will definitely be using Hannah again and recommending her to others!

Kris did an amazing job watching our dogs and caring for our home. He had good communication, kept the dogs routines and cleaned up after himself including washing the sheets and making the bed where he slept. He sat for us before, and we will definitely use him again.

Kate is wonderful! She cared for our two fur-babies, in our home, for five days. We also enjoyed three home play dates before our trip. I am convinced that my babies love her more. She took great care of our home and pups. I highly recommend her services. She is super clean, friendly, personable, and intelligent. Only a few things i love about Kate in the short time we’ve been acquainted. I might schedule more playdates just to have her over. Thank you Kate!!! You are a gem. 🐾💕🏡❤️🥇

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Longview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Longview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Longview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longview. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
