“Penny did an amazing job at house sitting our dog and two cats!! She provided updates, took our pup on walks and kept our babies happy 😊 our cat also has an inhaler and she was able to handle no problem! Will be reaching out again, thank you Penny!!”

“Kylie did an amazing job watching my girls!! She took good care of them and provided me with updates whenever I wanted and checked in with me on her own (including sending photos). She left my house immaculate (especially being here 2 weeks) and she is incredibly kind and thoughtful! I highly recommend her for others looking for a pet sitter and will definitely request her when I need a pet sitter in the future!”

“Mary house sat for us and took care of our two pitbulls while we were on vacation! The house was in great condition when we got home and she sent photos of the dogs while we were away. I would book with her again!”

“Extremely appreciative and pleased with Ingrid's house sitting! She promptly responded to all messages, provided reassuring check-ins, and carefully looked after our neurotic (reactive) Mini Aussie.”

“Jan and Paul are the gold standard when it comes to pet/house sitting. Kind, reliable, clean, etc. I never worry when I leave my home and critters in their capable hands.”
“Roree did a great job with our pup Lulu, and we'll definitely have her back. She was communicative, asked questions when she had them, and was clearly attentive to our little hairball, who can be a lil nut on occasion. We strongly recommend her!”

“Lyla did an incredible job! She gave me updates and was flexible with my crazy schedule. Overall she brought a lot of peace while I was out of town. Just knowing that my dog was so well taken care of. Thank you Lyla!”

“Erica was so lovely, patient, and communicative! We potentially needed a last minute sitter for the weekend, and she was so kind while we waited to confirm that we did in fact need help. Our meet and greet went wonderfully and all of our pets instantly loved her. We came home to a clean house and happy pets. We'll definitely book with her again!”

“Salem always goes the extra mile, but this time was exceptional. I made a mistake on our reservation dates, and our poor kitty would have been without food! Salem jumped in early to save her. We are so grateful!!!”

“Fanny did a wonderful job house sitting and watching our two fur babies. One of them being a puppy. We will definitely use her again. She followed direction perfectly regarding their care and they seemed to really like her.”

“Shelby did a wonderful job taking care of our cat, house, and plants. Minka has some chronic health issues that get worse when we travel. We booked Shelby for overnight stays and Minka did really well. Shelby was great at communication, managed all of the medications, was respectful of our house and requests. She kept our plants in good condition despite an unexpected heat wave. She left the house very clean and we’d be happy to book her again.”

“Izzabella is fantastic. She stayed at our house for 15 days and took excellent care of our pup and home. Our dog is 11, and starting to have issues, but is still very active, loves her long walks. She also loves being with people, so needs someone caring and present. Izzabella is a wonderful pup sitter, and our pup is always excited to see her and looks great when we return. Our home was left clean and in order, aswell. She took care of everything. We will continue to use her in the future.”

“Lilly did an exceptional job with our dogs, and with very short notice. Our dogs are a little high maintenance, and need a lot of exercise and attention so coming home to happy and content dogs was awesome! We can’t thank you enough, everything looks great, and Thor and Blue are happy! If you’re looking for a responsible dog sitter, Lilly is it! She’s kind, trustworthy and an animal lover! Thanks again, Lilly 🥳”

About: I've looked after cats and dogs since I was 18. I currently own one cat and my Service Dog. I've observed and helped out with different dog trainers in the past. If there is something I am unsure about, I know how to direct you to. I am on disability. I am home most days. If I am out at a dog show or trial, I will either bring everyone with me or not trial. I do have crates, if needed. We could also visit my sister in law and play with her Springer puppy. She does have a nice, big fenced yard. If dogs have a good recall, we can play in the bigger yard but it isn't fenced. I live in an rv, but I have it fenced off. There is a small potty area for the dogs. My dog is friendly with anyone and everyone. He loves other dogs and is always happy to play.
“Our family needed Jacob during a very difficult time. Jacob was kind, prompt, and immediately hit it off with our girls (Bear and Tookie). He was available to provide last minute care for our fur babies and sent updates daily on their well-being. We will definitely utilize Jacob‘s services in the future. He comes highly recommended by all our family members!”

About: I have three years of professional pet care experience, giving me a deep understanding of how to keep dogs and cats safe, happy, and completely comfortable while their owners are away. Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of animals with different personalities, energy levels, and temperaments, which has taught me how to adapt quickly to whatever a pet needs. Whether I am managing precise daily feeding routines, keeping high-energy dogs active and engaged through structured playtime, or providing quiet, gentle companionship for older pets, I approach every interaction by treating them as if they were my own. I always stay attentive to animal body language and behavior so I can catch any subtle shifts in mood or appetite, ensuring they stay content and secure from start to finish. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work part-time right in the heart of Battle Ground and balance it with a flexible college schedule. This setup gives me plenty of open time throughout the week and on weekends to dedicate undivided attention, care, and playtime to pets. Additionally, caring for five of my own cats at home means feline care and daily routines are already second nature to me, allowing me to easily adapt my schedule to meet any pet's specific needs. When caring for pets in either my home or a client home, my approach focuses on creating a secure, calm, and deeply comforting environment tailored to their exact needs. In my own home, we have two wonderful dogs, a beagle hound mix and an Anatolian shepherd, alongside five cats, meaning I am exceptionally experienced in managing multi pet dynamics, diverse temperaments, and varying energy levels. Whether I am caring for high energy kittens, elderly cats requiring medication and specialized feeding routines, or dogs needing a watchful eye, I treat every animal as if they were my own. I stay deeply attentive to their behavior and body language, ensuring they feel completely safe and secure while their owners are away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fargher Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fargher Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fargher Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
