“We could not be happier with Jessica. She was outstanding. It was obvious our puppies loved her so much. She also went above and beyond checking to see if she needed to water anything and also folded some laundry I had sitting out which we certainly did not expect. We will definitely use her again and again. We know our dogs were well taken care of by how happy they were when we got home.”

“Dillon was absolutely wonderful with our 2 pups and we couldn't have asked for a better sitter while we were away for the week! I get nervous because we have a puppy who loves to get into things, but Dillon did a great job at keeping her out of trouble and providing enrichment for both of them. He also provided great updates everyday with plenty of pictures. Bonus points for Bucky too, he's an absolute sweetheart! We'll definitely be reaching out to Dillon again the next time we need in-home dog sitting.”

“Rover Review We had a great experience with our sitter! She took wonderful care of our dogs while we were away, and when we got home, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. The house was also left clean and in great shape, which we really appreciated. She was very attentive to the dogs while she was there and gave us updates without overwhelming us with constant messages, which made being away much less stressful. We really appreciated being able to enjoy our trip knowing the dogs were in good hands. We would definitely have her stay with them again!”

“Dana took excellent care of my girl. She communicated well throughout. It was clear Ellie was loved and well cared for in my absence. I will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Kaylin took care of our big fluffy guy for a long weekend and we couldn’t have been happier! Leo was exercised to the fullest every day and we loved all the picture updates :) our home was in perfect condition when we came home. We will definitely be using Kaylin again in the future!”

“Emily was the best sitter we could have asked for! We have several animals; both dogs and cats, some with medication needs. She didn’t hesitate when we explained everything, and was more than up to the task! Our 20 year old cat, Goober, had especially specific instructions (including IV fluids), and Emily did every step we asked for, and went above and beyond. She understood how difficult it was to leave Goober at this point in his life (end stage renal disease) and made making him as comfortable as possible at all points in time a huge priority. She communicated frequently, sent tons of pictures, and made our wedding time completely peaceful knowing everyone was taken care of. Our home was completely perfect getting back to and she left a very sweet “just married” card for us. She will be our go-to for all of our future house-sits.”

“Lia was absolutely awesome pet sitting our dog, Timber, while we were away for six days! She was incredibly attentive and responsive the entire time, which gave us total peace of mind. When we got home, Timber was normal, completely relaxed, and happy. We couldn't have asked for better care and will definitely hire Lia again. Highly recommended!”

“Sarah is excellent! She took great care of my dog and cats while I was away, and I came home to a very happy crew of animals. Communication and photos were great. Will definitely hire her again and highly recommend!!!”

“Isabella is prompt, reliable, communicates quickly and took great care of the pooches while we were away. They have found a new friend and can't wait for us to use Isabelle again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Autumn watching our dog, Bandit. We came home to a clean & tidy place plus one happy pup. We appreciated receiving pictures, reassuring that bandit was having a great time and looked content. We would absolutely recommend Autumn’s services and look forward to booking again in the future!”

“Brodi definitely went above and beyond to make sure our pups were taken care of and comfortable while we were gone on our trip! She is so sweet and our dogs LOVE her. We will definitely be using her as many times as we can in the future! 10000/10 she’s amazing and I will recommend her as many times as I can!”

About: We can transport your furry friend(s) to my home and back to yours from 8:30a to 6:30p. I’ve owned at least one dog since I was 10 and loved everyone that has came into my life. From walking, to playing, to bathing (most of the time both of us by the end of it lol) it was a joy. I do have experience caring for senior dogs and puppies. I can administer oral medication. Currently I am staying at home full time as I just had my baby at the end of October ‘25. Have occasional doctors appointments during the week or random errands. There will be very limited time pups are left unattended. My husband also helps with the dogs and can sometimes take them to the dog park in Wellington or Ault. I have a new baby as of the end of October and have 2 female dogs in the home, one is 2.5 and the other is 13, the older one sticks to herself mostly but sometimes regulates the puppies and tells them to slow it down. Both are very well socialized and do not have any issues with other dogs. We can set up a time to do a meet and greet or work through a plan of separation (if necessary!! Normally it is not) which I have practiced and am set up for. I have my backyard spilt into 2 runs as well as an isolation pen. This is to help with any entrance excitement. If a dog is really pushy at the gate they’ll be put into a different section of fencing so they don’t push out. We have plenty of toys here, and ask that bones are not brought with to prevent any issues.

“Liza was great! I took a 12 day trip and left my older pup in her care and couldn’t be happier. All special instructions were followed and I came home to a healthy and happy doggo. The house was in good order as well. She was also very communicative and took plenty of photos during the stay.”

“This is the second time we have had Kaya watch our poodle, she was very relaxed when we got home, and house was as we left better than we left it. Would have her watch Anya again.”

“Nicole was fantastic! After reading her bio and seeing her credentials we knew we were in good hands. She is incredibly communicative and sent us lots of photos. The apartment was left in amazing condition which is such a relief after getting back from a week-long trip. She took the time to come and meet our Louie first and was very attentive about following his schedule to ensure he was comfortable while we were away. We couldn’t have found a better option for our pet-sitting needs and will definitely be using her again :)”

About: Hi there!! My name is Jillian, but you can call me Jill for short. I’ve had animals all my life, from horses, dogs, and cats all the way down to guinea pigs, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I have two cats of my own, one of whom is special needs, so I understand that every pet has unique personalities and needs. I am equally a dog person as I am a cat person, and everything in between! Thank you for considering me as your pet’s step-in mom, and I hope to meet you and your furry friend(s) soon!! I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule, which I know many people aren’t fortunate to have. Whether you need someone to stop by and let your pup out while you’re at work or care for your kitties while you’re away, I’m your go-to gal! I have 2 cats that live in my apartment, and at this time I am not available for boarding in my home, just drop in visits.

“Allison stayed with my dogs for a few days and showed them so much love and attention. She kept me informed with updates while I was away, which meant a lot to me. It’s clear she genuinely cares about animals, and my dogs seemed very comfortable with her.”

“Grateful Amy was available and willing to house sit with a last minute request for my two dogs. Frequent updates with photos of the pups was much appreciated knowing they were being well cared for. I would definitely book Amy again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,315 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pierce. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pierce walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pierce maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pierce choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pierce. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
