“Dillon was absolutely wonderful with our 2 pups and we couldn't have asked for a better sitter while we were away for the week! I get nervous because we have a puppy who loves to get into things, but Dillon did a great job at keeping her out of trouble and providing enrichment for both of them. He also provided great updates everyday with plenty of pictures. Bonus points for Bucky too, he's an absolute sweetheart! We'll definitely be reaching out to Dillon again the next time we need in-home dog sitting.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs for many years. I have a dog of my own that I was taking care of when not in school. I also take care of family friends pets while on vacation and at work. I love to give dogs baths and play with them! Pet care fits into my schedule since I am a college student. Pet care can be molded into the ideal schedule and I am flexible with coming up with set schedules and routines to properly care for animals before, between, and after classes! I care for pets by making sure they are fed, have water, and a comfortable and safe place to sleep. I love knowing that animals are well taken care of. I love being able to play with animals and generally spend time ensuring that they feel the love they all need and want.
“Joshua was hands down one of the best sitters we’ve ever had. My fiancée and I left on a 17-day trip to Europe, and we usually get anxious leaving our two boys for that long, but Joshua as a house sitter was truly exceptional. He sent us frequent photos and videos, and when a really bad winter storm came through out of nowhere, he went above and beyond to move our dogs to his own home to keep a closer eye on them. We couldn’t have possibly asked for a more attentive, caring sitter. He will absolutely be our main sitter moving forward. :)”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! 🐾 She stayed at our house while we were away and took absolutely amazing care of our dogs. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were comfortable in their own home and getting so much attention. She sent tons of photos and updates, which we loved seeing while we were gone. Our dogs got plenty of playtime every day, especially their favorite game of chuckit multiple times a day! You could tell they were happy, exercised, and well cared for the whole time. Our house was also in great shape when we got back, which we really appreciated. We’re so grateful for the care and attention she gave our pups and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring. We will definitely be booking with her again! 🐶”

About: Hi there!! My name is Jillian, but you can call me Jill for short. I’ve had animals all my life, from horses, dogs, and cats all the way down to guinea pigs, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I have two cats of my own, one of whom is special needs, so I understand that every pet has unique personalities and needs. I am equally a dog person as I am a cat person, and everything in between! Thank you for considering me as your pet’s step-in mom, and I hope to meet you and your furry friend(s) soon!! I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule, which I know many people aren’t fortunate to have. Whether you need someone to stop by and let your pup out while you’re at work or care for your kitties while you’re away, I’m your go-to gal! I have 2 cats that live in my apartment, and at this time I am not available for boarding in my home, just drop in visits.

About: I professionally worked with dogs for 3 years and have experience working with all types of dogs large and small, high energy and mellow, social and shy. I’m well acquainted with administering medication orally and topically. High quality photos during our time will also be provided :) It’s a priority of mine to respect your home and leave your home just as it was when you left and with a happy dog when you return! NOTE: I do not accept 90+ lb dogs that are known to pull/get riled up by environmental factors. I am pretty small myself so I cannot safely handle such dogs. This is for the safety of both your pup and me! Thanks for checking my profile! As of now, I am currently unemployed and Rover is my main gig. That means more time and availability for you and your pup! If this changes it will be reflected here. I will always treat your home and your pet with utmost care and respect. ❤️ I’m in tune with reading dog behavior and language and can adjust my manner to whatever is needed to make your pet comfortable and happy.
About: Pets are not just animals, they’re part of the family! Whenever I take care of an animal, I like to see myself in their… paws. I think to myself how I’d want to be treated, and make sure they get the best treatment possible. All through my life I have taken care of all of my pets from fish, to cats and dogs, and even moths and butterflies! Back home in Minnesota, I used to take care of two cats, Lucky and Gnocchi, which Gnocchi is now in the loving care of my grandparents, and Lucky has been watching from above for more than a few years now. I later took care of my cat, Foxy, who has since joined Lucky and both are watching my progress from above. Now, my dog Bailey is at home with two kittens, Ava and Johnny, who are currently being cared for by my mom. I miss my fluffy friends back home, and would love to make some new ones around the area! I currently have a part-time job at Raising Cane’s in Loveland, and I’m trying my best to keep my Rover schedule updated with my work schedule. I’m free for care all week, save for the hours I am at work, but I am always willing to drop in or stay over should the situation call for it. I’m willing to house-sit full-time, but I will need at least two weeks of notice in order to take the correct days off of work. Safety has always been my number one priority no matter what job I have been given. Risks and shortcuts are something I barely even know how to do, and instructions on what the owners want the sitter to do with their pets are the only thing that will be followed (along with basic common sense of course). I am readily available to read your pet’s emotions and figure out their needs from only a few little body language changes, and I will always give them the love and care that they deserve.
“I can’t say enough good things about Chloe!!! I had a last minute cancellation with another dog watcher and I thought I was going to have to cancel my trip, but then I found Chloe. She answered my booking request within minutes and the next day we had a meet and greet with the dogs. I felt so comfortable with her that I had no hesitations continuing on with my trip. I have a dog with a difficult personality that takes a while to warm up to people. Chloe had no trouble getting my shy dog to warm up to her and was super understanding of her little quirks. Also, while we were away, my other dog had some belly trouble. Chloe kept us updated the whole time, alerted us any time there was anything concerning going on and was willing to take him to vet if need be. She was truly wonderful and I would one hundred percent trust her with your animals!!”

About: I am an animal lover and have grown up with dogs my whole life. I personally have a 4 year old red heeler; 3 year old golden retriever and a 8 month old dachshund. Neighbors and friends have relied on me to feed and dog sit when they head out on vacations. I do work full time Monday through Friday but thankfully can bring your pup to the office if needed. I’m available for boarding Monday through Friday as well as weekends. Weekends I am home throughout the day! I have a 6 foot fenced yard and 3 friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed and have a doggy door for them to go in and out of throughout the day.

“Evelyn is a life saver! I had another sitter fall through while I was already out of town, and Evelyn took over at the very last minute. She was professional, accommodating, very communicative, patient as I sorted things out, and asked all of the right questions. My pets have medical needs which Evelyn took very seriously and followed all of my instructions. She also walked my dog, played with my dog and the cats, and took and sent me lots of photos. It was clear all 3 of my pets loved her. I am so grateful for her help. Thank you Evelyn!!”

About: I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, plants, and more! I’m very detail oriented and will follow all instructions to a tea to ensure your baby is taken care of! I’m very flexible. I can do overnight stays or just drop ins during the day. I’m a student in school, so my summer is super open and my school year I can still fit in watching your fur babies with just a little more of a restricting schedule. I have two dogs who I love dearly. I make sure to give them lots of cuddles and play with them. If I was in your home I would give your pets all the loves and make sure they aren’t lonely without their person.
“Haley was amazing with our two babies! She kept us up to date with everything that she was doing with them and sent us pictures as well! My beagle is very anxious and gets nervous and scared easily, Haley did an awesome job making sure she was comfortable! Thank you again!”

About: I have plenty of toys, time, and space for your pet to play, relax, and feel comfortable. Whether they need attention, outdoor time, or a calm spot to unwind, I always follow their routine and make sure they feel safe, cared for, and right at home during their stay. I’m currently working part‑time, so I have plenty of time to give your pets attention throughout the day. I’m available for boarding on weekends and for walks or drop‑ins on. I also will take last minute bookings. Your pet’s routine will always come first! I take safety seriously and always make sure pets feel comfortable in my care. Whether I’m in your home or mine, I follow your pet’s routine and needs closely. I can give them love and affection, keep a clean environment, and give your pet a calm, safe space where they feel loved and secure.

“Lewis was outstanding! We needed pet care at the last minute to travel out of town for a family funeral. Our dog is older and on special medicines. Lewis came for a meet and greet on short notice and took great care of our dog giving him all of his meds. We felt confident that our dog was well cared for and we had at least daily updates with pictures. We will use Lewis again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Galeton on Rover is $33.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,284 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Galeton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Galeton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Galeton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Galeton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Galeton. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
