“Lacie is a Super Sitter! She watched our Dude(kitty) for a week and she went so far above and beyond. She took our trash out to the curb on trash day when she noticed our neighbors setting their containers out. She kept the kitty litter area clean and my utility room vacuumed. She also vacuumed the kitchen. She took care of my plants. All of these things on top of the most excellent care of Dude. She was in contact with me anytime she had a question. I couldn't be more impressed with a sitter. I will be asking for Lacie in the future.”

“Cate immediately made us feel at ease and we knew our furr babies would be well taken care of. And, they were! She was amazing with communication and punctuality and our animals loved her. She is someone that you can trust with your beloved animals. It is a game changer for us in our ability to go away and be able to truly relax knowing someone who is responsible, and so kind and loving is with our furry kids. Highly recommend!”

“Jennie was great and I will definitely call her again next time I travel my kitties had a great time and she was very attentive and a great communicator throughout my trip.”

About: I grew up with dogs and currently have a 2 yr old mix from the shelter! I trained him myself and genuinely get so much enjoyment seeing him enriched and loving life. My work schedule is very flexible! I work from home so I’m able to move my work around whatever works best for your pup! I walk a ton! I’ve found so many great walking paths throughout town and I would love to take your pup on a walk with tons of new smells!

“Louise took great care of my kitties! She came each day, gave them outside time on the deck, and left my kitchen spotless. She rinsed the food tins out and put them in the recycling. She also found my broom and swept around the litter boxes. I didn't expect either of these, and I appreciated the extra effort. I had peace of mind as I traveled, knowing she was visiting them daily, giving them pets and love.”

“Ashlee took great care of my dog and was communicative. She made me feel at ease using a pet sitter for the first time. I highly recommend her and will definitely book her again!”

“Monique was fantastic when she watched Stubbs and Atticus. She came by for a meet and greet before the sitting dates. She sent us updates and photos and the pups were in great spirits when we came home. We’ll definitely use her again in the future!”

“Maria did a great job with drop-in visits for my 2 cats. I appreciated that she communicated often with updates and that she was dependable. My social girl took right to her and my shy boy even came out to play on the last day.”

About: I’ve had pets ever since I was really young and always wanted to get into the field of working with animals. I’ve taken care of a variety of animals from dogs to bunnies to guinea pigs and almost all of them have lived a very long life. I’m always excited to see any animal and work with them no matter what kind they are. I look forward to seeing every animal that comes my way and taking care of them as if they wear my own. I am currently working a part-time job, but I hope to transition to make this my part-time job. I am available and home every day of the week except Sunday (when I make this job my only job) and I’m home almost every hour and I will always make time for your pet. Well, the yard is on a hill and not fenced. I do have one dog three years old very friendly to keep any animal company. And if your dog needs to be in a crate. I can very much do that.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Penrose
Abigail is great! She shows up early/on time. She is respectful and kind. She takes time to make sure your pet is well loved on and happy. She follows all directions and is very responsive. She takes great photos and leaves detailed updates. My dog loves her. It was nice to be away and know my baby was taken care of.

Lacie was so amazing during her drop-in visits with our cat! He requires twice-daily medication and she went above and beyond each visit to make sure he was well-cared for, happy, and healthy! We knew he was in great hands with Lacie, and her detailed entries and photographs at each check-in kept us up to date with how he was doing! I can’t say enough good things about Lacie and would definitely book her again!

Jessica was amazing! Such great energy and we felt comfortable immediately when she arrived for a meet and greet. She dropped in on Dennis and he was well taken care of while we gone...and super happy and not stressed when we returned. I really hope she will help us out again some time.

This is the second time Kristen has checked in on our fur babes, this time the dog too. All three are very happy and safe. Kristen asks great questions during the meet n greets and makes sure the animals are well taken care of according to any guidelines you share. She’s always sure to give them extra love too!

We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in Michael’s care while we did a day trip out of town. The visits to our dog were right on time and we loved seeing the photos. Michael even brought our pet food delivery in from the front porch. We will definitely use Michael’s services again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
