Taking care of my own, family and friends’, and others too. I’ve found a dog recently in Middletown, NY running the streets in the snow looking like it needed some help, so I rescued it. The dog was wet, his foot was cut, so I put him in my car with me. I dried him up, wrapped up his foot, got him some water and then continued to ride around town in my car for the next couple of hours to figure out who the owner was. I have always loved animals and started dogwalking as a small side job in 2012 in highschool. I got my real start in 2018 working full-time for a small pet-sitting business, where I learned the ropes and built the skills I still use every day. Since about 2020 I have branched off independently and have continued to be a trusted local petsitter for many clients in my area. Other than petsitting I work at a local pet store, if you know me please say hello! I have experience caring for all kinds of pets including super seniors, puppies and kittens, and dogs and cats with a wide variety of medical conditions requiring administration of regular meds, treatments, or insulin. I am comfortable handling strong pullers, leash aggressive/reactive dogs and have a gentle touch to be able to bond with fearful feral cats. I can also do water parameter testing on your aquariums if equipment is provided to me. Pets are truly my life! I work at a pet store 6 days a week from 10–6 with a midday break I use for visits. For pets needing 1 or 2 visits a day, they will happen before and/or after those hours. For overnight or 3x visit a day clients I will provide one of the visits during my lunch break. Since I work at a pet store, I can easily grab many forgotten or necessary items for your pet anytime. My schedule ensures I am usually only ever away for ~5 hours at a time. Pets I care for must be okay with some time by themselves, since my bookings are not considered 24/7 care (non -constant). If you need something more full-time, please feel free to message me and I may be able to work something out depending on the request. The schedule I keep generally works well for my clients and the majority of pet owners, but for special circumstances I can make adjustments for specific days if necessary Overnights typically include Dinner care through Breakfast care and a single return visit midday. I require all of my clients to provide up to date preferred vet information, emergency contact info and provide me prior authorization to seek emergency care for their pets. To this date I have never had to use that information for any emergencies, but I always ask for it. Other than that I will strictly follow rules requested of me, I never do any off leash without being explicitly instructed to, and will only ever provide pets snacks and food that are indicated to me to use for them. I will never take any unnecessary risks with your pet or with your home. I am always respectful with homes and try to leave them as close to how it was before or cleaner than when I arrived as possible. I will make sure plants are watered, mail is inside and check in regularly with images. I am also open to some video or voice calling with your pets if requested. I am unable to provide full home cleaning services, however, I will within reason wash requested items (such as bedding or towels), clean up after myself, and make sure pet areas and bowls are kept tidy.

About: I worked at a pet store for 2 years where I took care of all kinds of different animals (birds, ferrets, reptiles, bunnies, etc.). I worked at a doggy daycare for a year and I have also been dog sitting and boarding for the past 2 years. I also have lived with dogs my whole life. If I stay in your home, I treat your home as if it was my own. Just like your pet, I provide the same level of care for your home without judgment. You come home to it being clean, neat and tidy. I wash the sheets, take out the garbage and recycling, sweep/vacuum and wipe down all surfaces that I used. I also bring in packages, water indoor plants, move garbage and recycling bins to the road and small and/or minor request are usually accepted. In the spring and summer months, I will water outdoor plants, but inquire about additional cost.

I know how important it is to feel confident about our fur children's safety and well-being when we have to be away from them, and I want you to feel worry-free when your pets are in my care. I have been providing pet care in my community for over 10 years now. This has been primarily through my dog hiking business, Happy Tails. A trusted friend and I take local dogs on a pack hike to get extra exercise and socialization twice weekly. During the last 10 years I have also boarded dogs in my home, provided daycare, done drop-in visits for cats and dogs, and leashed street walks for dogs. Except when I first began in 2015, my pet care has not been through Rover but through word of mouth-hence I have no reviews beyond that. I currently, sadly, have just one senior cat. At times we have had 4 children-a dog and three cats, then two dogs and two cats. Our last dog sadly passed within three weeks of his cat sister, and we are not quite ready to fill their space just yet. I teach yoga part-time, do 2 pack-hikes per week, and otherwise work from home. My partner works from home as well, so there is very little unsupervised time. We have a small produce farm on our property. I have over 5 acres, mostly wooded, that are not fenced in. We are far from neighbors, and set back away from our private dirt lane, and quite far from the main road. If your dog is crate trained, I am able to keep that up for you if you'd like. Otherwise, pups can have free reign of the downstairs/main living space, and will join us upstairs in our bedroom for overnights. Our cat, Sal, really likes most dogs. He's not the run and hide type.
