About: Hi, I’m Maria! I’ve always been an animal lover and treat every pet like they’re my own. I have two cats myself (who I’m totally obsessed with), so I understand how important it is to leave your pets in good hands. Whether I’m going for a walk with your pup or keeping your cat company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. I pay attention to the little things—every pet has their own personality, and I love getting to know what makes them feel comfortable and happy. Caring for cats is a daily routine for me, as I’m the proud owner of two feline companions. I delight in pampering them with treats and expressing my affection through play whenever there are toys at hand. I have two cats of my own who love being in my company, and I’ve frequently cared for my friends’ pets when they’re away. They affectionately refer to me as their pets’ honorary aunt.

About: Big Star Pet Care was started in memorial of our best friend of nearly 10 years, a rescue pitbull who was our Biggest Star. That’s why we give everyone our Big Star Promise— to treat your animals like they are their own Big Star. I've taken care of many animals, from cats & dogs, to rodents, reptiles, birds and more. This makes my experience in animal care varied and diverse. I am comfortable with all sizes of pet and breed, as well as many different temperaments. We are privately insured with pet care professional insurance (including vet coverage)— for the utmost safety of your loved ones, so that you can rest at ease while away. We are always learning new ways to expand what we can offer to our clients. We strive to follow instructions left by the pet owner and always send plenty of photos and updates. As a wife and wife team, your care will be carried out by either of us or both of us— but you can ensure top quality care regardless of who is providing it. Walks and drop ins before 8am and after 5pm are often attended by Gabrielle, while housesits are generally carried out by Mary due to Gabrielle’s full time position. Boarding care is handled by both parties. Most messages are responded to by Mary. Mary does have a standing M-F 3 hour babysitting gig from 1-4, though it often ends early. We try to be flexible and accept most bookings, including emergency last minute bookings. We offer a number of services; however, we do not accepts pets from more than one family at a time during boardings so that we can ensure the utmost attention, care and safety of your furry friends. We live in a large townhouse with a fully fenced backyard, 3 cats who keep mostly to themselves but may befriend gentler dogs and a 6 month old puppy who is generally well behaved and in training. We have no children or other people living in the home. We can create separated spaces if necessary, while still ensuring your furry friend gets the care and attention they deserve, while in a comfortable space for them. Mary is dog and cat CPR/First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. We have experience with animals who have special dietary, medication and medical related needs.

About: I got my first puppy when I was 8 and have been babysitting my sister's 3 dogs whenever she goes on vacation. I'm experienced in giving extra attention to one of her dogs that needs ointments for his allergies and bathing them when needed. Additionally, I'm comfortable handling various pet care tasks, from feeding and walking to playing and administering medications. My dedication to ensuring pets feel loved and well-cared-for sets me apart. I have three cats and one bunny I play with them 3-4 times a day before I go to work and after and feed them on a schedule every 2 days I administer an ointment medicine onto one of my cats eyes to help with his feline agenesis seeing and caring for them is my favorite part of the day I focus on feeding, exercise, and providing attention. I also handle any medication and grooming needs, making sure they feel safe and loved in their environment.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs most of my life and have lived with multiple cat owners as well. I feel like pets like my calm and loving demeanor 😊 I enjoy the flexibility this profession allows and I love the outdoors. If your pet wants a long walk in the sun or just needs to stretch its legs in the backyard I’m down for either! 😁 I feel as though my laid back demeanor is great for working with animals and even the pickiest cats have fallen for me. “Vizslas are notoriously aloof and skeptical with new people. Moose is also currently in his angsty tween stage. We had a few previous meetings and greets where he decided he wasn’t a good match with the prospective dog walkers. Jordan arrived on time dressed both professionally and appropriately for a first meeting and walk with a high energy dog. She took the time to introduce herself, meet and bond with Moose, and was very easy to get along with and knowledgeable about not only working dogs but also the Rover program itself. She immediately put both myself and moose at ease. She spent time in the back yard playing fetch with him (he tends to make you feel like you’re an automatic tennis ball thrower) and then took him for a nice walk. She quickly learned his hand signals and Dutch and English voice commands. He was very disappointed to see his new friend go and is looking forward to his next adventure with her- as he has been missing his daily runs with me and now has a new awesome exercise buddy! 10/10 would recommend her to anyone!”

About: Hi there! My name is Kate and my husband's name is Josh. We have both been pet owners our entire lives and absolutely love caring for other pets as well as our own 3 (G + Sadie + Toby — Chihuahua Mix + Rat Terrier + Jack Russel Terrier). We own a home in Jacksonville just off 295 on the west side with a large fenced-in backyard and quiet neighborhood. So lots of walking, running around and play time if you were to have your pet stay here with us and our 3 pups! Our babies are typically social but at the very least tolerant of other dogs as long as the dog is not too hyper or trying to mess with them. My husband and I both work from home so your baby(s) will get non stop attention. We only board small to medium size dogs (less than 30 pounds, some exceptions - feel free to ask). Your dog(s) must get along with other dogs or at least tolerate them. All dogs are separated at feeding times. We are used to serving regular dry, wet, mixtures, raw foods, and administering medications including injectables. With our flexible schedule, we will have plenty of time to walk, play and/or love your pet(s). Our home is extremely safe and doors are always locked (even when we are home). Our neighbors are all extremely nice. Our dogs typically lay on the couch, in their dog beds in our office or on our bed. All get lots of love, pets and treats every day 🙂

About: I’ve been looking after pets my whole life, dogs, cats, chickens, goats, geese, and even a peacock one time! Right now I have two lil kitties of my own that are the light of my life. I am available at anytime to play with your pups and kitties! I can visit at least two- three times a day to look after your babies! I will do my best to send a picture or fun video every visit for you and your families peace of mind. I’ve personally trained my own puppy to know all the basic commands and pass the STAR puppy test and she is currently working on becoming a therapy dog. I also have one cat that I love dearly.
