“Cheryl is a friendly person who has a big heart and gave my dog excellent care. I love the use of the safety gates inside her home to keep the dogs safe. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Cheryl. Thank you for the pictures and the extra care you gave my son/dog! ?”

About: New to Rover! I got my first dog, a Golden Retriever named Tigger when I was 8. My first job was at my hometown’s veterinary clinic. I’ve been a veterinary assistant, shelter worker, and large volume doggy daycare and boarding facility worker. I treat your pups like my own (maybe a little extra spoiled!). I have plenty of experience with animal behavior and specific medical needs. I’m a full time pet sitter and do part time work gardening and planting, but am self employed so am never gone for longer than 3-4 hours, and many days am home full time. Whatever your dog is used to at home (being crated, being on the bed or couch, a certain blanket, feeding times) I will do here in my home to keep them feeling as cozy as possible. I give lots of individual attention and one on one time. There are baby pools in my fully fenced backyard for them to cool off in and I have a doggy door, so they can go in and out freely. I’m home very close to full time, so the dogs are my life! I pick up gardening jobs here and there, but my life revolves around pet care. Getting up to feed them is the first step in my own routine, along with coffee. I have a 3 bedroom house with a fully fenced yard and a dog door. Dogs allowed on all furniture! I treat your home better than my own, lol.
About: Hi, my name is Joanna. I was a vet tech in South Carolina for two years before moving back to Florida. I love dogs and have always had one. My family and I have two labs. I would love the opportunity to be able to take care of your loved one while you are away. I am home full time. I will do my best to make sure your dog feels like they are at home. I understand how nerve-racking leaving your pet with someone else can be. I will do everything possible to help ease your mind while they stay with me. We have a fenced-in backyard and two labs that love to play. The dogs are never left outside unattended. We have crates available if needed for when someone is not home.
About: I’m a dog breeder with over 10 years experience. Over the years of having my own pets I found making others happy by breeding my beautiful poodles and finding homes for her babies very rewarding. I have experience with house sitting dog sitting ,hosting, dog walking and some grooming. Since my poodles have passed on I decided to adopt 3 female cockapoo dogs. I also think this would be a great way to spend time with other people’s family members and give them the security of knowing there loved ones are in good hands. I’m very dependable and can pass a background check . I would love the opportunity to care for your baby. Please feel free to contact me to set up a time to meet your furry family member or members. I look forward to meeting you all very soon. I’m semi retired and have 2 female cockapoo’s My girls love play dates and so do I . So in my spare time I love to help others with their fur baby care while they’re away. I love to walk my girls around my neighborhood at least twice a day if not more, and I’m sure your baby will love it also. Plus having my girls to play with 💕
“This was the best experience I have had on this app, Damian was incredible even gave my girl a bath. Sent me all the pictures and videos I could ask for . It truly was a great experience I will definitely be using him again .”

About: I have worked as a petsitter both on and off of Rover for over 8 years now, providing loving and safe care for dogs and cats of various ages and sizes. I am currently a law student in the area looking to make some extra cash to pay off student loans. Expect trustworthy and communicative service. Please inquire for further information or if your pet has specific needs that I can address.
“Sophie's first visit with Kat - she returned to us relaxed and happy. Kat took her for 3 walks during the day and Sophie behaved better with her than she does with us on the leash. Kat helped Sophie through a little anxiety when an unexpected thunderstorm passed through. We hadn't told her about Sophie's fear of loud noises like gunshots, fireworks, and thunder - but she knew just what to do to help calm her. We're looking forward to another visit next week and more to come. Highly recommend (and the only reason we hesitate to give a glowing recommendations is purely selfish - we don't want y'all to grab all her availability!)”

“I was in Palm Coast for a family reunion and booked Maisie's daycare services for the days I couldn't bring my dog with me. From the very beginning, Maisie was prompt, professional, and kind in all of her communication. She took the time to share her and her husband's extensive professional experience, which immediately put me at ease about leaving my dog with someone else for the first time. Knowing my dog was in such capable and caring hands made all the difference. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Maisie again and highly recommend her services to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet care. Thank you, Maisie!”

About: Ive owned dogs throughout the course of my life. From small dogs to big ones and everything in between! I would love to get to care for your fur babies no matter the age, size or breed! I have a very flexible schedule and can do full time and part time depending on what your needs are including multiple drops in visits or walks! About: We only accept ONE dog family at a time, so your pup will get our undivided attention & love. We also currently don’t have any dogs of our own. I grew up volunteering at hospitals and humane societies. We’ve worked with rescues and have fostered many animals. We know how to handle the pups that need extra patience, love & space. All our family pets have been adopted or have found us. We’re very patient & loving and have a knack at working with animals from horses, dogs, cats & birds. London has honors classes and lots of school work, so this is her way of earning $$ for a car 🚗 & college 👩🏫. With my supervision, of course. We’d prefer a meet and greet, even if it’s just video, to get to know each other, especially if there are any social or anxiety issues with your pup. I work as a court reporter full-time & thanks to technology, most of my work is now done from home. Most of my jobs that do take me out of the house, I’m only gone for about 4 hours total. London is in high school so gone during the day, but does do some online classes also. Between the two of us, the most your pup would be alone is 4 hours, if at all. When my daughter is home, she will be the main caretaker as this is her way to make money. Our yard is fenced with a 5 foot tall fence, but we do live on the Tomoka River. There is the option to walk your pup in the front of the house also. We will try, to the best of her ability, to follow the rules you’ve setout for your pup at your house. We want them to feel at home and make sure they don’t go home with any new habits that you may not enjoy.
About: I work from home full-time and spend most weekends at home too, aside from stepping out for a few hours here and there to run errands/be social. Your dog will have PLENTY of company and attention throughout the day...no long lonely hours here! 🐾 My home is quiet, pet-friendly, and has a fully fenced patio for fresh air and outside time. I also like to know your dog's normal routine and anything that will help them feel comfortable while they're here. The standard I am happy to watch 2 dogs at time, BUT please know if I'm watching dogs from different families, I'll ALWAYS check with you before accepting another dog so there are no surprises and everyone is comfortable. I'm happy to watch up to 3 dogs at a time....IF they already know each other. I've grown up with dogs, absolutely love them, and have pretty much become the go-to person for my family and friends when they need a pet sitter. :) Communication is BIG with me, so expect photos and updates while you're away. I knew I liked knowing what my dog was up to when I was gone, so I completely get it! I also prefer a meet & greet before the first stay whenever possible. Nothing formal, just a chance for everyone to meet and make sure it's a good fit. For overnight stays, crate-trained dogs are ideal but definitely not required. I can set up a comfortable gated sleeping area instead. I just prefer no free roaming around the house overnight. Before booking, please make sure your dog's profile is updated and includes a photo. Thanks for considering and trusting me with your fur baby! Looking forward to meeting you both :) I work full-time from home Monday through Friday, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent, attentive care. As much as I’d love a pet of my own, it’s just not in the cards right now, so spending time with amazing furry friends while helping others feels like the best of both worlds. I work full-time from home Monday through Friday, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent, attentive care throughout the day. As much as I’d love to have a pet of my own, it’s just not the right time—so getting to spend time with amazing furry friends while helping out fellow pet owners really feels like the best of both worlds. I’m home the majority of the time during the week and weekends. Aside from quick errands or the occasional dinner out, I’m rarely gone for long, and honestly, when I’m pet sitting, it just makes me want to get home even faster to make sure everyone’s happy, fed, and feeling cared for. I know how important routine is for everyone! —meals, walks, playtime, and any special care they need. I live in a safe, quiet neighborhood that’s perfect for calm walks and a peaceful stay. I treat every pet like family and will always keep you updated with photos and check-ins along the way.
About: Our home is open for your pet to enjoy him/herself. We have a fenced-in, large backyard and I also love taking four-legged friends for walks or to the park. I telecommute to work and can be free to hang around with your pet for their stay or can head to your place to look after them, whichever works best for you and your pet. About this sitter: I love staying active and meeting new people. I would be delighted to take care of your pet in your absence. Feel free to call, text or email with any questions! Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover since I can remember. I grew up with a beautiful black lab/golden retriever mix named Buster (or Boo Boo) and now have an incredibly friendly catahoula and terrier mix named Quanah along with two cats, Freya and Margot. I work remotely and have an extremely flexible schedule so I'm free to give your furry loved ones the care and attention they need while you're away. I have a fenced in yard and always go outside with my dog while he's enjoying it. I love going for walks and enjoy giving pets the love and care they deserve.
“Jessica was very caring, thorough, and a great communicator in coordinating caring for my pup, Ella, at her home. Once I met her and baby Chevy and her sweet kitty, I was at ease and so was Ella. I knew she would be in great hands, and she was! Throughout the day Jessica provided plenty of updates and lots of great photos. I really appreciated that and felt confident my dog was safe and having a wonderful day. I am so glad I reached out! She was very flexible and kind and Ella can’t wait to see her and baby Chevy again. Highly recommend Jessica for anyone looking for a fantastic pet sitter! Thank you, Jessica!”

“Thank you Aja, for watching our dogs. They both came home happy and were both tired. Hopefully we will be able to use you again for the dog sitting, but currently have decided not to sit them with anyone , only due to an unexpected financial circumstance. Thank you again and we will let you know if we can get back to a schedule.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ormond-by-the-Sea
Cheryl is AMAZING! I have 3 feisty babies who just love to be rambunctious and Cheryl was very patient and loving to them. I can see they trusted her because the boy is very fearful of people and he came back so happy. You can tell they all had so much fun because they were worn out and slept well especially for ME, I was able to have a break and sleep well myself. Thank you Cheryl, we will do this again.

Sheri was fantastic! She has a great home for dogs, with separate areas & a fenced yard. Our two boys are country dogs and have never done doggie daycare. Sheri was very good with them, even our old man who suffers from separation anxiety. They came back to us each day happy and ready for dinner. We would definitely recommend Sheri & will to all our friends who RV.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ormond-by-the-Sea commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
