Harrison stayed with our cat Bongo for three weeks and he was amazing. He had fast responses via text, sent photos, and checked in regularly. We came back after three weeks and everything in the house was perfect: food bowls full, water clean, litter boxes clean, plants alive… Best of all Bongo was so completely relaxed and happy it was as if we had only been gone to the store. We would 100% hire Harrison again!

Parker was great with our pups for a nearly 3 week house sitting stay. He was very responsive and took wonderful care of all 3 of our huskies! Huskies can be very demanding on attention and care and Parker handled it with ease - not to mention walking 3 huskies twice a day is no easy task! The pups all took to him right away when we did our meet and greet and we felt very comfortable with having him stay in our home so we could enjoy our vacation without worry. He was very communicative and took great care of the house. He went above and beyond with helping keep the place clean and watering our plants outside! We feel we can take more trips now without worry as we have a great sitter available and knows our pups through and through. We highly recommend Parker as a dog sitter who will take wonderful care of your furry loved ones and of course your home.

About: Hi there, my names Natalie & I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. Horses, dolphins and dogs are my top fav. I have grown up with dogs since I was 5, I was always in charge of feeding, play time, bathroom and bath time. Having dog or cat sitted for friends or family throughout my life I am very comfortable around any animal big or small. Previous work at a vet clinic and animal shelters along with kennel jobs have provided me with the adequate animal care and skills needed to care for your fur baby! I’m a full time mom so I prefer to work hours while my child is in school. Night or weekends can be planned as well. I can take your pet out for walks, hikes, or dog park trips if allowed. Crate is available as well if dog or cat prefers.

Air was so great!! Bubba can be aggressive, depending on how you approach him, and he immediately ran up to her and gave her a kiss 🥹 He won’t do a lot of things while I’m gone, but she got him to go outside, potty, fetch, and eat cheese - things he wouldn’t even do for my family off the bat. I appreciated the updates throughout the day, as well as the pictures. This was my first time using Rover, and I’m so glad that I chose Air to watch Bubba while I was visiting for a wedding 🩷 I would ABSOLUTELY rebook if I lived there!!

About: I’m a Registered Nurse with years of experience caring for patients who need patience, attention to detail, and a calm presence — and I bring that same level of care to your pets. I understand that pets are family, and my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, including active dogs who love walks and playtime, as well as pets who need extra patience or special attention. As a nurse, I’m comfortable with medication administration, monitoring for changes in behavior or health, and staying calm in unexpected situations. I’m also a dog owner myself and understand the importance of routine, enrichment, exercise, and plenty of affection. Whether your pet needs a fun adventure, a relaxing visit, or dependable overnight care, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I currently work per diem as a Registered Nurse, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care. I’m able to accommodate a variety of needs, including drop-in visits, walks, and overnight stays. I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, so walks, playtime, and enrichment are a natural part of my routine. I’m committed to providing consistent, dependable care and keeping your pet’s normal routine as close to home as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. As a Registered Nurse, I’m trained to be observant, responsible, and calm in unexpected situations, and I bring that same attention to detail when caring for your pets. In your home, I will respect your space and follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable and secure. I have a friendly, well-cared-for dog of my own and understand the importance of a safe environment, positive interactions, exercise, and plenty of affection. Whether I’m stopping by for a visit or staying overnight, I’ll treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life mostly Rottweilers and I’m very used to big dog breeds that need extra care. I have dog sat for my parents in the past, and dog sat for two residents at an apartment complex I used to live at. One owner had me babysit their sweet dog five days a week from 8am-7pm and the other I did drop ins for to take them outside while their owners were away. I’ve always had a passion for taking care of dogs and am a huge dog lover. I’m currently a student at California state university of Fullerton, I have classes twice a week so the rest of the week days I’m at home studying or doing homework. I’d love to fill my days off of school with something that I enjoy doing. I learn instructions and rules very fast, anything you need me to do to ensure the safety and care of your dog I will easily provide. I am very reliable and responsible and can easily adapt to new environments. I want to make your pets feel comfortable and happy while they are in my care. I have an amazing backyard that is gated and has grass for dogs to safely play and run around in as well.

They were also really quick to respond to my last minute message requesting a booking. I really appreciate them being able to watch them and doing such a great job. I would book again.

This was my first time using Rover & it’s a great app to have. Denae sat for my 2 fur babies. I felt at ease knowing they were being cared for. The updates help, Danae sent photos daily to keep me updated on there well being. Very easy & smooth transaction. I need to get better at using this app so I will check back in soon as Danae is sitting for me again, & this time will be much longer. 😊

About: I’ve had cats & dogs all my life of all different breeds. I recently lost my beagle of 13 years & my schnauzer of 17 years, and I’m ready to be a special part of your pet’s life in whatever capacity needed. I’ve cared for both healthy pets as well as those needing medication, and I respect that each animal has a unique personality with specific needs. I am excited to meet and care for your precious 4 legged (or three!) family members. I’m very flexible and generally available for even same day check ins and walks. I’m available weekends, weekdays, morning to night based on what is needed for boarding or sitting. I currently have 2 indoor friendly cats. I totally understand if your dog is not used to cats, they have their own area/room where they stay so I’ll make sure they don’t have to interact. Outside I have a large fenced in yard. For walks and check-ins, I will take extra care in keeping your pet secure and safe at all times. I know what it’s like to leave a pet family member in the care of someone else when having to be away. I also know some animals are more needy than others and just want someone there for them during the day.

We had such a great experience with Sarah! She stayed at our home for four nights with our senior pup, Kuma, and I truly couldn’t have asked for better care. Kuma requires medication and specific feeding instructions, and she handled everything thoughtfully and responsibly. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing our older girl was in capable hands. She sent regular updates, communicated clearly throughout the stay, and took wonderful care of both Kuma and our home. You can tell she’s attentive and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. I would absolutely have her back in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate sitter.

We loved Abby as well as our Dog Charlie. It was our first time using her but we immediately felt she would be the perfect fit. She was sweet, smart and very respectful. I could tell she loved animals. When you leave your pet with a stranger you worry about them but I could sense that our dog felt very comfortable with her. When we returned home after being gone 3 days she left a nice note and had done the laundry. That was really above and beyond.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ordway

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ordway on Rover is $64.29 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,355 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ordway. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ordway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ordway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ordway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ordway. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
