“Carla was fantastic, providing loving care to our fur baby and reassuring updates to us, with many pictures. She was responsive, prompt, and respectful of our property. Would definitely use Carla again.”

“Karen took wonderful care of my two cats. It was very clear they trusted her and enjoyed playtime with her. Karen was very responsive and friendly and I would definitely book with her again”

“I’m so glad I had Taylor take care of my dogs while we were out of town, it gave me such peace of mind knowing my dogs were being well cared for. She kept in touch with me, sending pictures and letting me know how my dogs were doing. I am going to have Taylor take care of the dogs again and I highly recommend her!”

“Taylor was able to watch our kitties on short notice. She arrived promptly everyday for drop-ins and managed to work our electronic door systems without any explanation (that's kind of rare lol). I didn't have to explain much to her. She sent us pictures, played with our cats, fed them before she left, and cleaned the litter box when necessary. We were able to enjoy our trip without worry. Thank you Taylor! We're absolutely going ask Taylor to watch our babies again 🩷”

About: I’m back! If you’re new here, I recently reactivated my profile. I've been the designated dog-sitter among friends and have taken care of family dogs most of my life, including two puppies. As an active person, I'm open to various energy levels. If your dog is laid back or has a little extra energy, I can spend the preferred time and attention needed. Whether it's going on a walk, run, outdoor activity, playing, bathing, or making sure the essentials are taken care of (food & water, bathroom breaks, etc.), I can step in as your dog's "temporary" best friend. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to be open and available to work around a client's daily or weekly routine... and spend time with pups :) I can take care of your pet in the comfort of their own home/area or go for a quick drive to a nearby park, trail, etc.
“Riley puts me at ease when I have to leave Spade (my 14 yr old Bombay male cat). She keeps me updated with photos and a narrative of what took place. She goes beyond and even cleans any mess he’s created. She is always punctual and attentive to his needs. I will recommend her with a glowing review and hope to book her on my next trip out of town. The best!”

About: I attended animal science school for a year, where I learned about different dog breeds, grooming, behavior, and training techniques. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities and needs, and I always focus on making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow any routines or special care instructions to make sure your dog gets the best care possible. I work weekdays from 8 AM–4 PM, so pet care fits best into my mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends. My schedule is very flexible though! I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, feeding, overnight care, and lots of attention before and after work, and I always make sure pets stick to their normal routines as closely as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and any special care needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship so they feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away. I also keep the home tidy, respect the space, and provide updates so owners feel confident their pet is in good hands.
“Angelina is absolutely fabulous! She's friendly and our dog loves her. She's always punctual and really cares about doing a good job. We're so glad we found her. We very highly recommend her!”

About: PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ANIMALS ARE KID FRIENDLY. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AGES 9 AND 11 ! My name is Alexandra and am currently located in Rochester/Irondequoit area. I have grown up around all types of animals from cats to dogs, birds, reptiles and fish, even raising a puppy. The main animals I grew up around were both cats and dogs. In my past I have worked at an animal store and had some experience as a pet sitter also. I live with my daughter who is well behaved and also an animal lover. I presently only have two small caged cockatiel birds and am able to move them anywhere in the house if needed to provide more space or comfort for your pets. I am willing to work with other certain types of animals if interested please don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to working together and meeting all of your animals! I am available Monday to Sunday and some holidays morning to night time (flexible schedule) and willing to work with you for extended times or days I provide a calm and quiet environment. My neighborhood is also quiet and calm when taken outside for walks or to go to the bathroom. I make sure they do not interact with other animals outside of my home and the animals I do have in my home are small and caged in a separate room where the door is always closed. I do not have any other dogs or cats and I do not board from different people at the same time.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for the past four years. I have two of my own. I volunteered when living in NY to help rescues and did foster as well. I work three days a week as a nurse. So I have quite a bit of availability on my four days off and would love to help other families. I have two dogs that I go on 2-4 walks a day with depending on weather. We visit dog parks almost daily. Multiple potty and nap breaks!
“Michaela was patient and confident with our sometimes shy and slightly needy girl. Spent additional time at meet and greets to really understand the needs and wants of our doggo (and our requests as owners!). Sent us a great report card with updates and photos about the visit. Answered messages quickly through Rover, and asked clarifying questions when needed. We will be using Michaela’s services again!”

“Casey was amazing with my Pup Blaze and my Fluffy Cat Drishti. She has been here for a drop in/walk and has stayed overnight with them as well. I came home to a dog that I think was missing her and her husband and wasn't as thrilled to see me as he usually is. They had a great time and he has warmed up to me again. I will not hesitate to ever reach out to them for any additional help in the future and they would always be welcome in my home again.”

I have a fence for my animals and all of them are trained and go to bed in cages couse there a bit of trouble makers and like to make a mess at night.
About: Hi, I am a volunteer EMT and have a life long passion for dogs and all animals. On my spare time, my wife (Melinda) and I enjoy various aspects of the outdoors, no matter the season. We frequently pet sit for my brother-in law's German Shepard, who is full of energy, of which I have learned all the commands and public interaction techniques. This has been ongoing for approximately the past 4 years. * Melinda and I extensively clean and disinfect our house not only before and after each dog but also on a regular basis as well. We are excited to be part of your dog care needs and you can be sure your pets will be well taken care of with us as a smooth transition. Whether it is walking, playing, or pet sitting, we are here to help! Please message us as you know your plans. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you! Conveniently I work very close to home and can come home to check on the puppy on my lunch break though that time varies from day to day. We have a long lead in our backyard that we can adjust accordingly and we are always outside with your fur-baby. We also have friendly neighbors and multiple eyes checking in periodically. My wife and I have a fleece-lined jacket 4 any puppy to help combat the weather. Additionally we have couch protectors, Memory Foam bed, a basket of toys, and food and water dish set up
About: Since I was a young kid I've had many pets in my life. Mainly dogs and cats, of all sizes, many large dogs though! I love going for walks or playing outside, or playing inside with smaller animals. If you need someone to watch, hang out with, walk, play with, or to let out or feed your pets I'd love to help I babysit from 11:30am to 3:30pm from Tuesday through Friday. So, if we can work around that scedule I'd be happy to help you out! I treat them with respect and love. Love to play and get to know them. Pick up after them inside and outside. And watch for signs of strange behaviors and keep them safe.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ontario. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
