About: Hi! I’m Abby, a lifelong animal lover with a special place in my heart for both cats and dogs. I currently share my home with two sweet rescue cats I adopted in 2020. I’ve been around cats and dogs my whole life and understand how unique and particular they can be. In 2024, I spent six months volunteering at a local animal shelter, where I cared for cats of all ages and temperaments. I also have years of experience dog sitting for friends and family, and I grew up with a wonderful family dog who sparked my love for dogs. About: I love animals of all kinds...cats, dogs, horses, lizards, reptiles. I grew up around large dog breeds and spent my childhood taking horseback riding lessons and playing in frog hollers. Now I have a cat of my own and would love to spend my summers off helping you with pet care, too. As a teacher, it is a joy to have summers off, and so much of my week has lots of leisurely free time. I'm available most weekdays until around 7pm. During the school year, I'd love to end my work day taking your furry friend out for a walk or stopping by to check in on them! Growing up around large dog breeds my whole life, I'm comfortable with dogs of all kinds. With a family member who works in vet medicine, I have some knowledge of pet care and pet health; including training, grooming, and dog-walking safety, and understanding pet behaviors. I also have previous experience pet sitting for friends and family, including varying feeding times and administering medications to pets. Pet safety has always been very important to me, so I always make sure my pets' vaccines are up to date, and I never let my cat out to roam outside. Dogs are always leashed, unless they are in their own private yard. I be sure to look out for other pets and animals while out to make sure everyone stays safe. I'm now so lucky to have a cat of my own who rules the house, loving all the attention in the world from her mom and dad. She loves treats and pets, and bird watching from the window. While my space is quite small for any boarding, I'd love to help you care for your furry friend by taking them on walks or helping out at home while you're away. About: I’ve been around animals and caring for dogs my whole life. When I was 10, my family adopted a miniature Goldendoodle named Judge. At a young age, he suffered a serious fall that left him temporarily paralyzed. I helped nurse him back to health, and with patience and care, we taught him to walk again. He went on to live a long, happy life. As he grew older, I often came home from college to give his medicine, baths, and daily care whenever my family was away. Judge passed in February 2024, but he taught me how important it is to be attentive, gentle, and consistent, especially with senior dogs. Because of this experience, I’m well-equipped to handle dogs with special needs, senior pups, and pets that require medication or extra patience. Above all, I treat every animal like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for. I work from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule. On weekdays, I’m usually available for visits starting around noon, and I’m free full days on weekends. I can care for pets at my apartment or others while I work from there, ensuring they get plenty of attention throughout the day. I prefer to care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable, but I’m flexible and able to handle just about any situation. While I no longer have pets of my own, I live in a pet-friendly apartment with a grassy yard, making it a safe and welcoming environment if needed. Your pet’s comfort and security are always my top priority.
