I also dedicate regular time to volunteering at the animal shelter, meaning animal care is already a seamless, rewarding part of my daily and weekly routine. Every home visit centers entirely on keeping your pet safe, happy, and comfortable in their own familiar environment. For cats, a standard visit includes scooping the litter box, refreshing their water bowl, and feeding fresh food exactly according to your instructions. Beyond the basics, I dedicate the rest of the visit to active engagement. If your cat is playful, I will break out the laser pointers and wand toys. If they are shy or anxious, I utilize my shelter socialization skills… giving them plenty of quiet space, reading their body language, and simply sitting nearby so they feel secure. I also respect your home by keeping pet areas clean and double-checking that all doors and locks are completely secure before I leave. You will always receive detailed updates and plenty of phot

Ella provided top flight and very loving care for my 12 y/o diabetic miniature schnauzer. Ella goes above and beyond walking, feeding, and giving medicine, she gives hugs, kisses and companionship to my Dillon. On top of all that she checks his water, washes his food bowl and provides a detailed report of their time together. I would absolutely recommend Ella to care for your pet. You will have peace of mind that your pet is safe and well cared for.

Sydney is kind and gentle with animals, she has a calm and understanding way of engaging with them. She's very thoughtful and we're happy that Poppy is in good hands while we're away. My dog is not trusting and has some anxiety, and Sydney has been working with her on that, and she has calmed down a lot, even turning into butter with some head rubs. Sydney is also responsive, responsible, has a genuine love of animals and just all around a great person who brings positive vibes.

Karla did an amazing job walking my dog, Jr. She brought along her dog, Woody, and the two dogs had a fantastic time together. It was clear that Karla is caring, attentive, and great with dogs. Jr came home happy, well-exercised, and relaxed after a fun and engaging walk. I really appreciated the extra socialization and companionship Woody provided. I highly recommend Karla to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog walker!

Julia was absolutely amazing. We booked her to feed and walk our golden Doc. She went above and beyond, taking care of our house and packages and even spending extra time with Doc to keep him company. She updated us every day after each walk, sending photos and messages. Julia is so kind and clearly has a love for animals. It was nice to know our pup was in such great care while we were away. Thank you Julia!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
