About: I have taken care of multiple animals the past 40 years. From dogs to cats to horses to birds. I truly have a passion for all animals! I also have a rather large fenced in back yard that allows for many activities during the day. I will love your animals like they are my own! Your animal will be cared for quite frequently. I do work full time, but my husband does not. Allowing for multiple potty breaks and snuggle time during the day and night. Pets will be cared for like they are my OWN. I have a passion for animals and quite honestly enjoy having multiple pets in the house at any given time frame.
“Tiffany was kind and attentive. She asked great questions about the needs/preferences of our pet. She was timely with her responses and sent us pictures during her visit with our dog. I would engage with her again.”

“Macy was so good with our dogs and keeping in contact. I can’t recommend her enough. She gave great updates and the dogs definitely missed her when she left. Highly recommended.”

“Amanda was absolutely wonderful! We’ve tried several dog walkers through Rover in the past and haven’t always had the best luck, but this experience was completely different. Amanda was patient, kind, and so loving with our little yorkie poo, Mali. She made us feel completely at ease knowing Mali was in such good hands. We can’t recommend Amanda enough and will definitely be booking with her again for any future needs!”

“Jessica took great care of Roxy while we were away. She was loving and caring. Jessica sent photos everyday and spent time doing Roxys 2 favorite things. Treats and brushes. I will be booking Jessica next time we go out of town!”

“Jaina is helping me with my pup while I am away at the office- she is very attentive to my detailed instructions and respectful of my home and my dog loves their visits! She is highly communicative, leaves me very detailed updates, and has calmed my nerves when I needed to find someone for ongoing help when my schedule changed- would highly recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m a physical therapist during the week and available for dog walking on weekends. I can also help during the week early in the morning. I’ve been around animals my entire life and have experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve cared for many different pets, including dogs, cats, snakes, lizards, and a hedgehog. I previously had a deaf dog with special needs, which taught me patience and how to provide extra care when needed. I currently have an almost 12-year-old dog, so I’m comfortable with senior dogs as well. I’d love the opportunity to give your dog a safe, fun walk and the attention they deserve! I currently attend college and am on the soccer team, so I have plenty of gaps between my schedule, but nothing concrete enough for a full time job. I have large gaps between classes during the week and free weekends for the most part n I cannot bring dogs into my own apartment, as I am in a temporary living environment that does not allow pets. However, I am willing to help in any ways I can.
About: 20+ years of pet care experience. Growing up we had 4 dogs , 6 cats and a whole array of other critters. When it comes to drop-in visits or just a quick walk, I’m your guy! I have a full time job that I work Monday-Thursday 8-6:30PM. Im currently available Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Holidays vary since I may be out of town I have two cats myself so ensuring a safe, clean environment is number 1 on my list. If there’s no mess or hazard, I’d ensure all essentials are either available or given at time specified. For example feeding and or medication time, along with kibble/ water restock. If there’s a list, follow the list lol
About: I have over 14 years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels, along with 8 years of dedicated pet sitting. I currently work at a dog park and dog daycare, where I supervise group play, handle different temperaments, and ensure a safe, structured environment. I’ve cared for everything from extra large breeds to small dogs, including puppies and seniors. I also have experience with rehomed dogs and understand they may need extra patience and consistency. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding schedules, playtime, basic training, and maintaining routines to keep dogs happy and well-balanced. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I currently work part-time at a dog park and dog daycare, where I spend my time caring for and supervising dogs of all sizes and energy levels. This has made me very comfortable with structured schedules, feeding times, walks, and consistent care. Because I work part-time, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet sitting, including drop-in visits, walks, and overnight stays when needed. I’m able to plan my day around the pets I’m caring for to make sure they get the attention, exercise, and routine they’re used to. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I’m very attentive to behavior and surroundings, making sure pets are always secure on walks, properly supervised, and never put in unsafe situations. With my experience working at a dog park and dog daycare, I’m confident in reading body language and handling different temperaments calmly and safely. I treat every home with respect—keeping things clean, organized, and just as you left them. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Elaine did such an AMAZING job watching my baby boy while I went home to visit my family on Christmas! This was my first time having Elaine as a sitter and she was as reassuring as she could possibly be! I was looped into some crazy flight cancellations and Elaine was very accommodating to meet all of my needs during those crazy times! She is very reliable and I highly recommended ??”

About: Hello 👋 I'm a huge advocate for animals and appreciate the companionship animals offer to us. I'm a mother to two beautiful toddlers. I take the time in helping comfort cats & dogs to make them feel at home! Please message me for any questions or concerns. Thank you 😊 I'm working from home so I have the time and capability to give plenty of attention to my furry guests. I have a pet friendly apartment complex with plenty of space for walks. I have a peaceful and clean home that is very welcoming to pets. I usually ask the owner what their feeding schedule is and follow it precisely. I watch for cues when dogs have to go outside.
“Chelsea did an amazing job taking care of my cats while I was out of town. We came back home to a tidy bathroom (litter boxes) and happy cats! I will definitely reach out again next time my partner and I go on a trip ❤️”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs, cats, fish, turtles (you name it!) for over 10 years. Starting with neighbors and family pets and continuing through friends and referrals. I’m very attentive, responsible, and calm, which helps dogs, and all animals, feel safe and comfortable around me. I understand that every pet has a different personality and routine, and I always follow care instructions closely, whether that includes feeding schedules, medications, long walks, or extra cuddle time. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure owners feel fully at ease while they’re away. I work from home full-time as a software engineer, so I’m home throughout the day and able to provide consistent supervision and attention. Your pet will not be left alone for long periods. My flexible schedule allows for regular walks, playtime, feeding routines, and plenty of companionship. I’m available weekdays and weekends and can accommodate most schedules with advance notice. I live in a quiet gated community with a fully fenced running space for dogs and access to plenty of safe walking and running space. I’m right next to a park, which makes daily walks and outdoor time easy and enjoyable. Inside, pets have a calm, clean environment with lots of supervision since I work from home.

About: I have taken care of dogs as well as cats since I was 10 years old when I got my first pet a small dog named bandit. Since then we have welcomed two wonderful cats into our home who I took care of until I went off to college. When I started to drive I got the opportunity and trust of students and parents at my school to watch there dogs while they were out of town or on vacation. However, when I went off to college I was unable to keep at it. Until this year that is. When I was recommended by that same family to watch some other dogs that were in my area. They travel a lot for softball mostly on the weekends so it was a good fit. I am ready to now expand into new territory here on this app! I currently am a full time student at Palm beach Atlantic university. If you read this. This is your disclaimer. This is only part time and I do love it but recently people do not realize that I am only human. I have been so stressed out recently trying to please everyone but I can’t. My main job is being a student so I will not prioritize my services over my schooling. If you are booking me over a time that school is off. I may have some sort of job especially during the summer. If you want someone who will be at the house all day every day I am not the person for the job. I will be there the majority of the day but it is important to me that I spend time with my family and that I focus on my schooling too. I am going to try to build up some services in WPB this year. I will have mostly afternoon and evenings free. In the morning I have classes for the most part. It really depends on the day. I could also do the weekends. I go to college close to my home so I do travel back to my hometown Port Saint Lucy a lot. If I am going home I will block out those days in my schedule. My calendar on the app will reflect my school schedule. I look forward to meeting you! Animals are a huge part of my life at the moment. I have been house sitting , drop ins, and dog walks recently. I am going to try to be more selective on who I am dog sitting for based on my availability and if it will be too much for me to do. I am going to more focus on drop-ins and walks. If you welcome me into your house I will care for your animals like they were my own. It is important to me that your animals are well taken care of and I will try my best to make you happy with my services. Just know that your animals mean the world to me. And that every animal is important no matter how big or small. If you have things I could improve on or you had a good experience with me I would love you to leave a review. It really helps other pet parents who may need some guidance 😊

About: I have prior experience working at a vet hospital, dog sitting different breeds of all ages and sizes. I also have experiences with basic obedience training. I believe exercise and mental training is the best approach to a happy dog! Tired dogs are the happiness dogs. If you request a drop in I’ll include a potty break and play time. If you request a walk I’ll walk for 20-30mins. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to help other pet owners. Life can throw a curveball: busy workday, family member is ill, crazy traffic. Or you want to experience life and don’t want your pet to suffer staying home alone all day. I am here to help if you find yourself needing someone to run by to check on your family member. Play with them, give them love and treats while you’re away. You can count on me! I ensure i gain the trust of the dog and they feel safe around me. I treat every dog like my own! I provide mental stimulation: mental games/ basic training work. Some dogs need more stimulation to allow them to rest comfortably. A 30min walk may not be enough for your dog.
About: I’ve been around dogs and animals for as long as I can remember. I was always the kid who would choose playing with the dogs over playing with the other children! When I was 13, my family got a Westie named Millie, who was a huge part of my life until I left home at 18. I also owned horses throughout my teenage years, so caring for animals has always been something that comes naturally to me. In my 20s, I worked at a summer camp as the Ranch Director, where I was responsible for caring for the animals and managing staff on a farm with 14 horses, pigs, alpacas, sheep, rabbits, and chicks. That experience gave me a lot of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds and taught me the importance of being attentive, responsible, and consistent when caring for them. I’ve been wanting a dog of my own for years, but I haven’t quite taken the plunge yet! So, for now, I absolutely love getting my dog fix by taking care of other people’s pups. I regularly cared for my sister-in-law’s two little black rescue dogs, who were both mixed breeds. I absolutely loved spending time with them, and they became very special to me before sadly passing away a couple of years ago. I’m also always the first person my friends call when they need someone to watch their dogs, and I genuinely enjoy having them around. I have a 4-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son, and they both LOVE dogs. They are gentle, respectful, and very affectionate with animals, and they love helping to care for them. Some of my previous pet-sitting clients have even commented on how much they appreciated the extra love and attention their dogs received from my kids! I’m happy to provide references from multiple people, including both professional clients and friends whose pets I’ve cared for. Most importantly, I will treat your dog like they are part of our family while they’re with us—with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care. I currently work during the week but am generally available on weekends and evenings. I love being active and outdoors and would love to take your dog with me! Due to where I live right now I can only come to your home to care for your pets, and am happy to stay over or just come for occasional feeds and play!

About: I’ve been dog sitting for over 4 years and have grown up surrounded by dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I truly treat every pet like family. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with your pet and provide attentive care. I’m available for walks and drop-ins throughout the week at flexible times, and on weekends I’m available before 7 AM and after 2 PM. I’m happy to accommodate early mornings, evenings, and consistent weekly schedules to help keep your pet’s routine smooth and stress-free. You can count on me to be reliable, punctual, and communicative. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. While I do not have a fenced yard, all outdoor time is carefully supervised and pets are always kept on a secure leash during walks and potty breaks. I never allow off-leash time in unsecured areas.

“Rebecca is a new pet sitter for our fur babies, Maddox and Tavi. Rebecca is very personable and asked all the right questions about taking care our dogs. She is on time and is an excellent communicator with updates and lots of photos. Rebecca will be doing over nights for us as well and we look forward to having her stay with our boys.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ocean Breeze Park
She was quite amazing with my dog and he’s quite difficult and overprotective when I’m home. It was a delight to know that she was not scared of my rat terrier by any means. If you have a difficult dog or an over protective dog she is the one that I would most definitely recommend!!!

This is our second time with Chaylee and I have absolutely 0 complaints. She’s absolutely amazing, my older doggy loves her and she’s excited every time she sees her. I can trust her in my home and I can go on my work or personal trips at peace knowing my dog is in good trustworthy hands.

Jessica did great her first time with my cat and bunny. Her communication is impeccable and she gave them their full half hour. I couldn’t even tell I’d been gone when I got home— no messes to clean and the boys were content. I will be booking Jessica in the future for sure! 😻

This was the second time having Monica watch my two cats while we went on vacation and she always exceeds expectations. I got a ton of pictures of my babies daily, lots of communication and generally made my vacation better because I didn’t for a second have to worry that my cats were okay. She deserves every single 5 star review she has.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
