House Sitting in Oakland

About: Since becoming fully remote for my full time job in 2020, I have taken on the roll of “trusted pet-sitter” for over 30 families and almost 50 furry friends. Back home in Maryland, I connected with these families just through word-of-mouth and referrals from happy families. Now that I live here in Maine, I would like to continue my expertise and passion for animals, and connect with some loveable furry friends. I am an attentive, detail-oriented pet-sitter, who also knows the importance of respecting another person’s living space and maintaining routines for pets. After years of taking care of every size, shape and age of dog, no request from the owner is too wacky. From complicated medication directions to particular night time routines, I know your pet is part of your family and deserves to go about life as usual, despite mom/dad not being home. Reach out, I would love to connect! I work full-time fully remote! So while I will need WiFi and a desk to type on my laptop while I watch your pet, there is always time for walks, snuggles and whatever else your pet needs. My goal when I pet sit is to keep the pet in its normal environment and routine as much as possible. I am always very clean and respectful of any house I pet sit in.

About: I love all dogs but am especially fond of the giant breeds.🔅WILLING TO TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF RADIUS SHOWN🔅 I am mid 30s and I've always connected with dogs. I recently lost my dog after 13 years of spoiling her. She was our perfect dog, a bullmastiff boxer and a princess, so I know all about finicky dogs. I trained her as a puppy and we always got complimented on how well behaved she was. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pup and worry about them, I used to leave long lists of instructions for our girl and love it when I got text updates of her, so I will do the same for you. When we spoil them it speaks to the depth of our love for them, and that's something special to not entrust with just anyone. So if you have a "diva" or a "prince" I'm your gal. 😁 I miss being around a dog but I am not able to commit to my own right now, so I'd love to give your dog lots of cuddles and spoil them for you while you are away. I do not offer care in my own home or care for dogs dealing with incontinence because things are too fresh still. I do not offer care for dogs with aggression issues either. I feel it's important to make sure both the dog and I are comfortable, and therefore require a meet and greet to make sure it's a good fit. I work from home so I will be able to care for them and cuddle lots throughout the day. I will need to leave briefly in the evenings, but for the most part will be there with them. If your dog is trained to be off leash, I am comfortable with that as long as we do a meet and greet and you show me their responsiveness when called back. I am also fine with taking them out on a leash or letting them into a fenced yard, whatever is their norm. If hired for dog walking I'd prefer to do a meet and greet and go on a walk with you and the dog so you can show me their route and preferences to ensure we are both comfortable

About: I’ve had pet dogs and cats since I was 5 years old. I’ve always loved taking care of them, and being someone that they can rely on. Caring for animals is a big part of my life and something I hope to be forever passionate about! I am working full-time for the summer. I am a college student who will be going back to part time in the fall to finish my last year. I’m mostly free in the evenings and on odd days during the week since I work a rotating schedule. The fall will look different as I’ll be working part-time while also going to school! I’ve been handling large dogs since I was a young teenager, so I’m very comfortable with all types of breeds. I’d consider myself very gentle when it comes to animal care.

About: Highlight: I am experienced with aggressive and reactive animals! I have had animals in my home and life as long as I can remember. I have cared for countless dogs, cats, and small animals. At one point in my life I had seven dogs and a number of other pets. I have been providing independent pet care since late 2015. Animal care and rescue is my greatest passion. I am skilled at handling dogs and other animals of all ages, sizes, and temperments. I have worked with aggressive and reactive dogs and have experience deescalating conflicts when they arise. I am more than happy to care for any kind of animals- not just dogs and cats. My own current pets are two dogs and four cats. I also have experience caring for small animals, various poultry and livestock, and horses. When I was 15 years old I started occasionally farm/house sitting for a family with dogs, horses, and a cat, and caring for all of the animals there during my stay. With them I have worked daytime hours as well as overnight stays for a few days at a time so they could take trips out of state. In my adult life I have branched out, first with Rover a few years ago, and then with expanding farther into launching my private pet care business at the beginning of 2024 while still maintaining my presence on Rover. My client base is steadily growing and I am excited to see where this venture takes me! I am reliable and committed to providing excellent service for my clients. If you want a pet caretaker you can count on who will treat your animals as well as their own, I'm your gal! I am operating my pet care business, Mainely Pets - Care & Products, full-time! This means I have lots of availability to care for your pets, but for house-sitting in particular it is best to reach out significantly in advance to ensure I can fit you in! Sunday bookings are restricted to things that *must* occur on that day in order for me to try to have some level of work life balance. I take utmost care to keep animals in my care safe and properly contained. I make sure to follow whatever rules and structures are in place for the animals to ensure their safety. Pets are always leashed inside before heading for a walk and the leash isn't unclipped until we are back inside with a closed door. I am vigilant in looking out for potential risks (e.g. other animals, cars, bad things they could eat, etc) and making sure to give them a wide berth. In my own home I have any small animals carefully segregated into rooms that predator animals don't go into. Anytime I leave the room, I do a check and verify that all predators are outside the door so nobody can get hurt. I monitor the dog around the cats to make sure all interactions are safe. I have utlized crates and baby gates when necessary to keep animals safely contained and/or separated in the past. I am skilled at containing flight risk animals and watching out for their safety.

About: I'm a genuine dog lover! I've always trained my dogs on basic tricks and commands.I'm aware that dogs have their own personalities, fears, and strengths. I work part-time. I have a flexible schedule. I'm open to having dogs in my house throughout the week and some weekends, if needed, and also just walks. I don't have a fenced yard. However, I will be with them out in my yard to assure a safe environment. I'll take them hiking or for walks around my area. They are welcome inside my house to sleep and rest.

About: I absolutely love all types of doggies and I’m an avid jogger and love to get outside and get exercise. I’m very respectful and kind. You won’t be disappointed hiring me. I’m available during the week between the hours of 8 and 3. Those hours can vary and sometimes I might be available outside of those hours We live on 20 acres on the lake and our neighbors are not close so it’s nice to get outside in the property and play fetch or go run around

About: I have owned and taken care of dogs almost all of my life, I have experience with puppies and old dogs. I have a large private property with a long dirt road for long walks, and a fenced in front yard . Dogs really love it here. I am a retired school teacher with lots of energy and time to spend with your furry family member. There is plenty of love and fun times to be shared here, I have 23 acres for long walks, a fenced in front yard and a lake to swim and chase balls. I also have a large deck for drying off before coming inside. Your dog will love it here!
