“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Amber! We have multiple pets, including a very fickle and sometimes difficult Newfie, and she handled everything so patiently and confidently. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets were being cared for by someone who truly understood them and took the time to make them comfortable. She provided frequent updates, pictures, and communication throughout the stay, which we appreciated so much. It was obvious our pets were getting lots of attention, care, and love while we were away. Coming home to happy, relaxed animals says everything. We will absolutely book again and highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate sitter — especially if you have large breeds or dogs with unique personalities!”

“Lauren was great. She took great care of my pups and sent lots of pictures. They were true wore out when we got home which means they got lots of exercise and free air. Will most definitely use Lauren again.”

“My dog and I fell in love. Andrea is amazing. I feel so comfy on vacation because she is an excellent sitter for my Kayce. My pitbull was in heaven! She is the best. Highly recommend.”

“Danialle did a wonderful job with our boys. Both are picky friends and they were so calm when we got home! Excellent with communication and I could tell that she really loved on my pups.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for a while as I have two of my own! I will treat your dogs like I would my own! I work full time but my work is very flexible as well so I can fit around your schedule. We can definitely discuss more options for the schedule. I have two dogs of my own that I care for and I have a routine where I take them out every morning and feed them and take them for walks and just spend quality time. I can easily adapt to your dogs routine and treat them as my own.
“Shea was absolutely fantastic. Our dog has some health issues, and Shea was very attentive to his medications and our concerns while we were away. We came home to a very happy dog. Our house was spotless. Without asking, Shea washed the bedding and put everything in its place. Her communication was thorough and consistent. Without any hesitation, we would ask Shea to sit for Rocky again! Thank you again for everything, Shea!”
“We had a great experience with Camryn! Great communication from start to finish. While we were away, she sent us updates on our pets day as well as pictures. House was very clean when we returned home as well. Would definitely rebook again and would recommend.”

“Madelyn home sat our two puppies while we were in Europe for 2 weeks. She communicated well and ensured our dogs and home were kept safe. I would highly recommend her and will be booking with her in the future. Thanks Madelyn!”

“Hope did a great job watching my dog Charlie. She was communicative and gave him a lot of love and special attention. She picked up the booking with only a couple days notice (life saver) and even made time in her day to make sure to give him a walk - even walking him on the day that we got home.”

“Emily is a loving and responsible caregiver for our aging pup. She provides us with regular reassuring updates and lots of photos. I have 100% confidence Aspen is well cared for when we are away which is why we have booked with her multiple times.”

“Aida did great with our girl Faye and the updates and pics she sent were so helpful in keeping me calm. This was the first time we ever used Rover and our first time leaving Faye alone since her pup brother crossed the rainbow bridge so I was pretty nervous. If you're thinking about reaching out to Aida, I would say definitely give it a shot! She has a lot of positive and friendly energy that your kiddo will love! Thanks Aida!”

“It was great having Shawnda care for our 2 dogs this past weekend. From the meet and greet to while we were away, she communicated as needed and made sure she knew the both dogs routines. It was a plus that she was able to stay over night. She also helped with watering plants and vacuuming infamous hair. We will definitely schedule again with Shawnda. One other thing we appreciate is Shawnda’s experience with elderly dogs.”

“Always timely and informative during visits. Very easy to talk to, easy to trust. I can count on Tanya to show up and make sure my pup is safe and well cared for. She’s extremely respectful of the space and you can tell she really does enjoy being with the pup. My go to for a sitter!”

“Brooke is a so amazing with our gentle giant and always leaves the house better than she found it. We trust and appreciate her staying in our home anytime and loving on our pup so well. She is very reliable and goes above and beyond to take care of our home and dog while we are away. We definitely recommend Brooke and will 100% hire her again!”

About: In my 33 years of life I have always had a pet. Whether they were pets I grew up with or pets that I've owned personally. I take the responsibility seriously and genuinely believe animals are the greatest gift from nature. For the first time in my life I don't have a pet that I'm currently caring for and would love to offer my home as a safe and loving place for anyone that needs a dog sitter. I'm most familiar with large or extra large breeds but love them all equally. I currently work full time 730 to 4 pm but have the ability to stop home during the day. I'm a home body that enjoys taking walks and resting on the couch watching a documentary. I'm a very routine by the book type A personality so making sure they are fed and exercised is something that would bring me great fulfillment. I'm also an extremely affectionate person and would not mind cuddles eith your pup if they want it. I have a fenced dog park with a lock so that is where potty breaks will be taken. I can also run them by throwing a ball or stick or we can go on walks along the rum river as I live in downtown Anoka.
“Alexa was amazing. She took care of our 12 year old mini goldendoodle and our 7 month old yorkipoo and they loved her so much. She took care of our puppies so well for almost 3 weeks while we were on a family trip. She continued to check in and send us pictures of the dogs and left the house so clean and a note detailing everything that had been done. We will absolutely use her again.”

About: Please review my entire profile before deciding if we are the right fit for you and your furry family members. ❤️ 🐕 If your doggo loves other animals and being a part of a pack then they will love staying at our hound dog hotel! We subscribe to Bark Box so there are plenty of toys and treats to enjoy during their stay! I’ve helped care for dogs my whole life, and I’ve always been an animal lover. When I was a teen I volunteered at the Humane Society, as an adult I’ve rescued several of my pets. During the typical school year I work M-F 7:30-2:30 at a school very close to home, with a lunch break between 11-12 that allows me to come home and let the dogs out. In the summer I’m home more often, as my hours are greatly reduced when I work summer school. I enjoy spending time in the yard playing with the animals, facilitating puppy play dates, busting out the doggy wading pool, or just letting them do their thing as I do yard work and garden. We also enjoy walks, our house is a short distance from Sand Creek Trail so your pup can enjoy the sights and smells of nature without having to go far at all. Our property offers a large fenced in backyard which allows your pet to go on bathroom breaks, enjoy the sunshine and play without the restriction of a leash. We have a doggy wading pool for hot summer days, and our house is not far from Sand Creek Trail so your furry friend can enjoy a bit of nature while they are out for a walk. Bathroom breaks will be offered at regular intervals no more than 4 hours apart. During their stay your pet will be allowed on our furniture, have access to playmates, toys, treats, walks, and unlimited praise and affection. We never feed table scraps, and always put the toilet lid down. As caregivers we are experienced in caring for elderly animals as well as animals with special needs, including but not limited to administering oral medications (liquid and pill form), ear drops, subcutaneous insulin injections, and supporting pets with mobility issues and vision impairment. If you prefer your pet to be crated at any time during their stay we are able to provide a large crate or you are welcome to bring your own per your discretion. We are happy to provide photos of your pet during their stay and answer any calls or texts checking in on them while they are boarding with us. Thank you for choosing us to care for your pet!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 2,666 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Nowthen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nowthen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nowthen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nowthen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nowthen. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
