“Brianna was wonderful. My dog Henry can be a bit anxious when Im away but he warmed up to her immediately. She was very attentive to his needs and took excellent care of him. I will definitely book with her again and I highly recommend her.”

About: I have loved and cared for dogs for over 30 years. I have taken care of other peoples pets for over 10 years. I love to interact with animals and provide exceptional general care ❤️🧡🏳️🌈 I am pretty flexible and available unless already booked through my other house sitting services. We can find a time that works! for a meet and greet. It would be your home, they would get to remain comfortable and free of exposure to other animals with a variety of issues from a loving and kind professional.
“Enzo made a new friend! Raven was great. We would definitely recommend her services. We felt confident and comfortable with Enzo in Raven’s care, which was really important to us.”

“We trust Hannah with our 2 German shepherds any day! And they have some BIG personalities. Hannah is so flexible, easy to communicate with and always keeps us updated on our two crazy girls. Highly recommend!”

About: I've had pets and been around others since I was young. I love all animals and enjoy spending as much time with them as I can. They are usually just as excited to see me as I am too see them. I make my own schedule so my availability is very open. I can work around your schedule when needed. Nights and weekends are also open I will follow any instructions for care from pet parents. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I have plenty of experience walking dogs of all sizes so this will not be an issue either.
“Abhay was absolutely amazing. On first contact, his enthusiasm to meet and greet both us an our animals was encouraging. We knew from first meet that we could be confident and comfortable leaving our babies and our home in his care for two weeks. We were not wrong. Everything went as planned and our babies and our home were cared for perfectly according to our requests. We would, without question, request his services again and highly recommend to others.”

“Josephine was amazing! We had some unexpected changes and emergencies in our trip and she was just so easy and wonderful to work with! My pets were so happy, I don't even think they missed me. I loved working with her.”

“Beau had a wonderful time! Teaghan was super kind and attentive. Really easy to get a hold of her when we needed to and we loved getting photo and message updates while we were away. Staying at our home she kept it clean and even was so kind to take the sheets off the bed before she left! Beau loved having her and we can’t wait to have her again soon. 10/10!”

About: I got my first dog in 1982. My first cat in 2021. I learned to walk, play with, feed and love my dog, Cara. Then in 1997 another came into my life and again I cared for her basic needs but next I learned to watch and listen to this one... and trained her in tricks and solid obedience. Next I started house sitting for sick old dog's who needed 24/7 attention. This was for Maureen Martin’s dog Higgins and her cat, Rio, in San Diego for 1999 - 2000. Later I found myself caring for so many people's dogs and cats, the last being in Westchester New York 2 weeks ago for Eliza, a black lab belonging to Mr and Mrs Brian S. Also at home I adopted Macy who has cancer as a kitten. She was treated and she is 3 years in remission now bc I played with her and brushed her and gently got her eating again through the chemo program. My reputation grew as a good cat babysitter and dog walker and caregiver. I am gentle, patient, firm and have strong communication with dogs and I speak the language of cats. I also am in very good athletic condition so I can offer your dog and cat a strong enough dose of energy and fun that your dog's anxiety about you not being there can subside. Your cats and dogs miss you when you leave them for work and important events. But I will fill in the gaps so they feel a warm friend is looking after them until you return home. I care for my own cat. Doing the litter daily and feeding her in the morning and evening with some in the middle of the day. She has cozy places to sleep and toys to play with to stay active. I interact with her and brush her to keep her in an overall healthy and good mental state. Playtime is a real winner with most pets. Those who are disabled or needing a different kind of care will get warmth and gentility from Me. If they need meds, I will do it in a caring way. If they need to be vigorous and enjoy companionship time in your absence, I am there to be their protector, buddy and server.
“I was worried about leaving my dog since I was Travelling with my wife internationally. Rebecca was a gift from god. She was mindful, detailed and followed all the instructions about my dogs medication. She also shared with me some great tips about natural remedies for my dog that I found so valuable. I will highly recommend Rebecca to any stressed dog owner out there that don’t trust new dog sitters easily. Rebecca knows animals very well and will keep your mind at ease knowing your fury animals are in good hands. I will give you 10 stars if I can.”

“Caroline was a lifesaver! Came in for a last minute sit and allowed me to enjoy my trip worry-free. She was transparent and communicative from the first message, flexible and understanding when I asked to push back arrival time a bit (I wanted to finish some cleaning), and observant and attentive in her care with the cats, making sure to check in on a little skin thing Inigo had. Her vibe was soft, sweet, and reassuring, and the kitties (even my super shy girl) loved her - they came out within minutes of me leaving to play with her, and were giving her cuddles from day one. (I melted seeing the pics of them in her lap.) Would absolutely recommend and book again!”

“Meghan was an excellent house sitter. She has earned and maintains our trust with both our house and our pets. We would definitely book with her again. She is tidy, professional, and communicates exceptionally well. A+++”

About: I’ve trained three very skittish rescue doggies and purebred pups. I dog sit for friends and family often. I am extremely energetic/Athletic and if your doggie wants to go for a run, I am up for that for sure! Or if they just need some calming snuggle time, I’m your girl! I enjoy getting to know pet’s unique personalities and needs. I grew up around animals my whole life — dogs, house cats, barn cats, and even neighboring farm animals and wildlife. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me. Recently losing my longtime companions, Niko, a tiny chihuahua/corgie mix & rescue with a huge personality, and Copper, a golden with a goofball heart of gold, reminded me how deeply our pets become family. I understand how hard it can be to leave your pet at home while working, traveling, or managing a busy schedule, and I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy caring for them. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, companionship, patience, or extra attention, I’ll treat them with the same love and care I’d want for my own. I look forward to meeting new furry friends and helping give pet owners peace of mind. I called my doggies my kiddos and will care for yours as such! My days are free and can’t wait to fill them up with more joy, walks, training, runs and snuggles. Obedience, praise and love are my core. My pets are my world, I care for and treat others pets as my own. I will treat your home as mine as well! I’m responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Can’t wait to meet!
“Miriam was absolutely wonderful!! We have already booked her again. She house sat while we were out of town for 6 days, taking care of our 80lb pit-mix rescue Hank and our two cats Jack and Harry. This was our first experience using Rover so we didn't quite know what to expect, but it was 100x better than boarding at a typical facility! We went that route once before with Hank and will likely never again after our experience with Miriam through Rover. The entire time he was at the boarding facility we were worried that he'd think we abandoned him (since he's a rescue), not to mention the thought of him stuck in the small uncomfortable kennels that most places offer. With in-house sitting, Miriam gave us complete peace of mind that Hank was happy and comfortable in his own home, and well-taken care of. She openly communicated with us and provided daily updates (including pictures/videos) of Hank and was very respectful and polite when it came to looking after our home. Would highly recommend her services!”

Brianna was so thoughtful - took excellent care of our two senior citizen pups. Very communicative on how they were doing, eating, etc. Sent us pics. If she wasn't sure about something, she asked. Made us feel confident that our dogs were getting the best care. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
