“Rufus has quickly connected with Alyssah! Our boi is a generally-anxious and fearful dog. It took only 2 walks for him to understand he can (and does) trust Allyssah. Her energy is kind, calm, and she clearly understands dogs and their individual needs. This is our very first experience with a dog walker, and I'm extremely grateful that it is turning out to be so GOOD for Ruf and for us. Thank you, Allyssah!”

About: I have always had pets since I was a child: dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, etc…ranging from young dogs and kittens to senior dogs and cats. I am able to problem solve their different needs and administer meds. I am patient, responsible, and would love spending time with your furry friends. I am a teacher and have afternoons, nights, and weekends available during the school year, and a flexible schedule during the summer months. I am looking forward to caring for your pet with check-ins. During check-in visits, I will follow your care instructions and use my background knowledge to be there for your beloved pet. I love checking in and making sure pets are well cared for!

About: I have taken care of dogs of all ages and sizes. I often pet sit for puppies only a few months old, and cared for my senior girl as her mobility decreased. I have also taken care of dogs that followed strict diets and medication routines. Providing the care that your dog requires to keep them happy and healthy is my priority! Whether they prefer to take it easy and chill on the couch, or go on long walks and play fetch for hours, I will adapt and ensure your pup is happy. I am currently finishing up my master’s degree, and am doing my internship part time during the week. My schedule is flexible for the days that I provided availability, so I am happy to adapt to your needs! I am happy to follow the safety guidelines and routines that you have set for your pet. I have a fenced in yard at my home for my pets, and they roam in and out all day. However, I have also watched pets without a fenced in yard that needed to be leashed when they go outside so I am happy to adapt and supervise your dog just as you would! If you prefer to crate your dog when they are indoors, I will happily do so as well so as to not impact your pet’s sense of normalcy and the rules they need to follow. If you prefer your dog to be alone on walks, I’d be happy to walk them in places where there are few other people or dogs around so that they feel safe.
“Alexis was absolutely wonderful with our German Shepherd. She was prompt and communicative and seemed to TRULY care about our dog’s wellbeing, which was incredibly reassuring while we were were gone. My stepdaughter absolutely loved the pictures she sent us. (And our dog seemed so happy in all of them!) We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter, and not only would we rebook Alexis in the future but I would highly recommend her to anyone considering her services. We are so grateful!”

“I highly recommend Steph, she has been wonderful with my two pups - one is a grumpy bulldog and the other is a crazy black lab, so I know she can handle double dogs of different speeds which is great! She’s also really sweet with the dogs, super friendly and easy to talk to, and very flexible with bookings.”

“Meaghan was a great walker for our dog Bilbo! We used her for well over a year, and only stopped because we moved. She was wonderful with him and always brought him a treat. We knew he was in good hands and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for dog walking.”

About: I grew up my whole life with dogs and never knew a day without them. I specifically grew up with German Shepherds and Shih Tzu’s. I always have gotten my dogs as puppies and crate trained, pee trained, and taught them all their tricks. I am good at walking both big and small dogs since I have experience in both! Currently have 4 family dogs and think every dog should be cared for in the same way as you would care for your family member. I work from home remotely so I am able to fit in pet care all day. I have an hour lunch break as well, so watching or walking pets is never an issue. I take care of pets in home as I would my own dogs. They require a good amount of attention with at least 3 walks a day to stimulate their brains.
About: I have been walking and taking care of dogs for many years and I love every minute of it! I love all types of dogs and I am very attentive and active! I can be over any time during the day or night and am able to switch things in my schedule to take care of your pets! I will not have pets in my home but I will be taking care of them in others homes of it due to my 2 dogs.

About: I have been a pet owner for my entire life, and I’m the current parent of a dog and cat named Macy and Cider. Ever since I was a kid, my family often volunteered to watch, walk, and care for the pets of friends and extended family. I have also worked and volunteered at zoos for many years to help teach people about the wonderful critters all over our world. Needless to say, animals have been a big part of my life as long as I can remember! I recently finished a school year of full time substitute teaching, and I’m taking no a summer off to job hunt and pursue teaching licensing. Having the summer off means I have lots of time to spend with your pets! I do not have a fenced yard, but I supplement that by giving my dog, Macy, plenty of time to walk outside (her favorite activity), visit the dog park, and play indoors to get her potty breaks and her energy out. She is a very low energy dog who gets along well with others, people and dogs alike! I have a cat named Cider as well, who keeps to herself around other animals, while she’s never been around cats friendlier than her, she is very sweet to people who treat her with gentle respect.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
