I live in walking distance to borderland state park, and can take your dog(s) on leash walks if more exercise is ideal. I am able to crate your dog if needed. About: I grew up in an environment constantly surrounded by animals, especially dogs, with my own dogs, relatives, and friends. I am attentive, responsible, and honest. I have assisted my Veterinary grandfather a handful of times during the birth of puppies and have become very familiar with the specific needs and responsibilities involved in caring for dogs and cats. I am currently working full-time from Wednesdays to Sundays, primarily in the morning, from 6 am to 2 pm. My afternoons are typically free for me to do any needed pet care, such as pet visits or afternoon walks. Mondays and Tuesdays are completely open for any pet care throughout the day, and I am ecstatic to accommodate any pet care needs! I will provide attentive, loving care, as I do with my own dogs, ensuring they are well fed, walked, and given plenty of time for indoor and outdoor play, as well as any specific care they may need.

I have owned and cared for many dogs in my life, from small (20 lbs) to large breeds (130 lbs) such as Cane Corso, Doberman, Pitbull, Lab, Maltese, as well as mixed breeds. Being CPR and Stop the Bleed certified, I'm prepared for any situation, and your dog's safety and comfort are my top priority.

About: Hi! I’m Kayla, a professional dog trainer with years of hands-on experience working with dogs of different breeds, ages, temperaments, and behavioral needs. My background in professional dog training and care gives me a strong understanding of canine behavior, body language, safe handling, and the importance of meeting each dog where they’re at. I have experience working with everything from puppies and easygoing family dogs to high-energy, fearful, reactive, and behaviorally challenging dogs. I’m comfortable reading canine body language, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort, managing dogs safely on walks, and adjusting my approach based on the individual dog rather than treating every dog the same. In addition to training, I have extensive experience with the day-to-day care of dogs in both home and professional settings. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, crating, structured walks, enrichment, potty breaks, maintaining established household routines, and providing owners with updates while their dog is in my care. I also have experience administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions, including working with dogs who have multiple medications, supplements, feeding requirements, or other individualized routines. I understand how important accuracy and consistency are when another person is responsible for your dog’s care. For walks and drop-in visits, I’m happy to reinforce your dog’s existing training and household rules rather than allowing good habits to disappear when you’re away. I can provide structured walks for dogs who benefit from them while still making sure they have an enjoyable, enriching experience. Above all, safety is a priority for me. My training background allows me to recognize potential problems early, make informed handling decisions, and provide care based on the individual dog’s temperament and needs. Whether you need someone for regular walks, occasional drop-ins, or reliable care while you’re away, my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your dog is being cared for by someone with professional experience in both dog behavior and hands-on canine care. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine and something I’m very accustomed to prioritizing. With my professional background in dog training and canine care, I’m used to structuring my day around walks, feeding schedules, training, enrichment, medications, and other individual care needs. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to accommodate regular walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week. I provide all pet care exclusively in my clients’ homes, where pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I follow each owner’s specific instructions for feeding, walks, medications, enrichment, crating, and household routines while using my professional dog training and behavior experience to ensure safe, attentive, and individualized care.

Alexis was absolutely wonderful with our German Shepherd. She was prompt and communicative and seemed to TRULY care about our dog’s wellbeing, which was incredibly reassuring while we were were gone. My stepdaughter absolutely loved the pictures she sent us. (And our dog seemed so happy in all of them!) We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter, and not only would we rebook Alexis in the future but I would highly recommend her to anyone considering her services. We are so grateful!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
