About: My husband and I both grew up with dogs and had the privilege of fostering several dogs while living in Rwanda for 2 years. This past May, we unexpectedly lost our beloved 11-year-old dog. She was so much more than a pet—she was truly a member of our family and had grown up alongside our children, ages 9 and 6. We’re not quite ready to fill the space she left behind, so we thought Rover might be a wonderful way to spend time with dogs again while giving another family peace of mind knowing their dog is being cared for and loved. Your dog is allowed on our furniture and has access to a large fenced in yard! Our dog was fear aggressive and we were unable to utilize a boarding facility. We can sympathize that leaving your dog can be difficult. We’ll treat them like one of our own—with lots of affection, patience, attention, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. Having fostered dogs with very different personalities and backgrounds, we know that every dog has their own needs, quirks, and way of showing love. We’d love to welcome your dog into our home and give them the same love and care we’ve always given our own. Note: For the comfort and safety of your pup, we only care for dogs from one family at a time. We’re happy to accommodate two dogs from the same family, but we do not mix dogs from different households during the same stay. I work in healthcare on Monday and Wednesday evenings. On these days, I leave for work at 12pm and Patrick is home by 2:30pm. On Saturdays, I work a 12 hour shift and Patrick is home with our children. Our family does have occasional evening or weekend commitments for our children’s sports/activities, but these are typically short outings, and we are rarely away from home for more than four hours at a time. We’re happy to work with you to make sure your dog’s routine and needs fit comfortably into our schedule. Because I have a flexible schedule the majority of the week, I’m able to provide plenty of attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and breaks throughout the day. I’m also happy to accommodate a dog who needs more frequent potty breaks or simply prefers not to be alone for long periods (we've been there). We have a large fenced in yard where your dog can run to their heart's content. We will respect your wishes regarding your preferences for staying off of furniture, sleeping in a crate, etc. That said, your dog is welcome to sleep in our bed, lounge on the couch and take a snooze on our deck.

Bentley seemed happy to see us but reluctant to leave when we picked him up! And we got a lot of feedback and pictures during both days of his one-night stay. Rackeem and Max welcomed Rico on short notice when I needed last-minute support and they made everything easy. Now, Rico gets excited every time we enter the neighborhood and I feel totally comfortable leaving him there. The yard is a big plus. Rico loves to be outside, has energy to burn, and has a friend in Max. He comes home settled and happy. Highly recommend.
