About: please, call me jess!! i had a senior cat that i loved dearly for five years. he was diagnosed FIV so i have knowledge on that, as well as administering oral medications. my parents also run a cat rescue down in florida! when i lived with them we had 6 pets, including 4 dogs and 2 cats (not counting the strays i secretly fed haha) so i also have experience with a variety of dog sizes! i work part time currently so i have plenty of free/spare time! i would love to fill that time taking care of animals, whatever it may be Although i live in an apartment building, i can make sure your pet has a safe, fun and loving environment to be in! : )
About: Through either the companion animals my wife and I have welcomed into our home, or through the work I did at the local animal shelter as both a kennel attendant and volunteer, one of my few passions in life is providing care to and spending time with animals. For a number of years, I lived with companion rabbits—our time with them taught me a lot of patience, and gave me a heightened sense of when something might be wrong with their health. For a few years we lived with a special needs cat, and we currently are living with an Olde English Bulldog—all of these animals are of course different, for myriad reasons, but they also have a number of similarities in the personalities that if you spend enough time around them, you'll grow to see and understand. The time I spent as a volunteer and attendant at the shelter was a great lesson in how to be efficient and effective in tending to a number of animals at once—sometimes upwards of 20 cats that all needed their areas cleaned, food and water refreshed, and sometimes given medication. As a volunteer I worked with especially shy and frightened animals who had recently been surrendered and were not adjusting well to life at the shelter. This, like my own time living with rabbits, was the chance to learn more patience, and work with an animal until they open up more. I am, like, very available to care for your animal. Friday and Saturday I have a commitment in the morning, but would be ready to check in on whomever after 11 a.m certainly, and I would like to think that overall, I am relatively flexible and can manage time well. In my own home, I more or less put an animal's needs ahead of my own. If I were to check in on an animal of any kind in someone else's home, I would be respectful of their house rules, and also try to get to know the animal within their own space and interact with them there.
“Avaiyah did a great job with our spunky and overly friendly dog when we went on a very last minute trip to see family. We had never done anything like Rover before and have only ever used the same boarder, so we were hesitant to try it out, but she made it so easy and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Shylina, Shyliiinaaa! Top notch! We are so blessed and thankful to have found such a good person to check in on our fur baby! We can’t sing her phrases enough! Our cat has diabetes and needs a little extra care and attention around feeding time. Shylina gave us peace of mind while away for one of his feedings & injection. Binx was so well taken care of, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Shylina gave us a full report and sent pics of Binx. The drop in visit went without hitch and we couldn’t be more happy. Shylina is so professional and good with our pet. She is a true animal lover. Honestly, in terms of finding a pet sitter it’s more of a question of: Does she have time and want to come back than, would we have her back? We wouldn’t hesitate. Again, we are grateful to have found someone trustworthy and who cares about our pet. 😆 Shylina is the best! Thank you Shylina!”

“Melissa is exceptionally caring and had a wonderful approach with our Great Dane, Kota. She left the perfect level of details after each of her visits and was thoughtful about our dogs knee (recovering from surgery) while still giving her plenty of time to play. Our dog was clearly comfortable and happy to see Melissa each visit- which is saying a lot for an anxious pup! Could not recommend Melissa more highly!!”

“Ciboney was great with Kylo! She was easy to schedule with and was always on time to check on him. I would highly recommend and will used her again in the future when we go out of town. Thanks again for helping us!”

About: I have loved animals my whole life. growing up with dogs, cats, fish, and birds, I enjoy pets of all kinds! I have experience with both pet boarding and pet sitting! I have worked with several different families with multiple dog and feel totally comfortable with that. Going to the dog park is always fun but I know some dogs aren’t comfortable there. I also have lots of experience with cats and birds. My roommate is allergic to cats so they can’t stay at our house but I would be happy to come to yours. Walking pups is a great way to explore new neighborhoods. Through these kinds of experiences I have learned that it is always more fun to walk around and explore with a four legged friend. I work a pretty consistent schedule but I am lucky enough to be able to flex it. I can adjust it to meet your pups needs. I have a fenced in yard that I spend a lot of time in during the summer. There are no other dogs in the building

“Lisa and Drew did a great job caring for our dog. We appreciated all of the photo updates and reaching out with questions about how to keep our dog cool in the heat and if he had any issues with storms. We would gladly use them again! Thank you!”

About: I’ve taken care of my Tibetan Mastiff since before I can remember, and I’m my go-to neighborhood dog walker/caretaker. I love all shapes and sizes of dogs! I’m currently an online student at MNSU, so anytime during the weekday for boarding and walking is entirely open. Weekends work for specific dates and times. I have a reliable mode of transportation and I love taking care of animals. Whether it’s bathing, feeding, walking, or just sitting with a dog, I love to be there. I have grown up with a fear reactive dog, so I have experience with reading dog’s body language and reacting accordingly.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Northfield
Ana was very responsible and attentive to detail in how she cared for our pets. She even got the outdoor cat to come out of the woods and hang out! She also got some great photos of the animals— better than ones I can take. I really appreciated that reassurance that everything was OK.

We had Claudia drop in to care for our cat while we were on vacation. We were pretty worried because our cat is a senior with health issues. Claudia totally put our minds at ease. She was reliable and a great communicator. And our cat loved her. Reccomend her highly.

Ada did an OUTSTANDING job taking care of our cats and home when we were away! Our boys were so well cared for, and I can tell from all the photos that they treated our cats like they were their own! We were in a bind when a friend told us last minute they could no longer watch our cats while we were on vacation for two weeks, and Ada was just what we needed. They were respectful, attentive, and we felt comfortable having them in our home while we were gone to look after our cats. We left a laundry list of instructions and weird little tidbits, and they knew just how to take care of everything the way we would. They paid special attention to details and had a ton of experience caring for all kinds of pets, ages, and medical situations which made us feel good. They also very kindly helped us with extras like grabbing our mail and sending us photos of our house when one of the doors was damaged (not by them). I seriously cannot recommend Ada enough! We will gladly be using them again for future sitting services.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
