“Kevin did an amazing job watching my dog, Jamie, for the first time! He sent me daily photos of Jamie enjoying walks and relaxing in the sun on the balcony, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Jamie was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I know he’s in great hands with Kevin, and I’ll definitely be rebooking!”

“Clinton was great with our dog Otter! He was very accommodating, communicative and friendly. Sent lots of pictures and it looked like Otter had a great time. We would definitely use Clinton again!”

About: Hi there, I’m an experienced dog owner and sitter with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for four legged friends of all sizes. I have a large fenced in backyard, and love to go for hikes and runs in the great outdoors. Or for a quiet walk in the neighborhood, if that’s what your dog prefers. Either way, I’ll make sure to keep your pup happy, safe and well cared for 😊 I’m available to board your dog Thursdays through Sundays. I work from home with a very flexible schedule and always go for at least one long (min 1 hr) walk and a couple of shorter ones on workday, plus plenty of time for play. My home office has a large and very comfy couch so that we all, dogs and office worker, can keep each other company. On weekends I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors, of course taking your dog’s needs into consideration. I have a large, dog friendly house and a wonderful fenced in backyard. My own dog, a very social and energetic Havanese, will happily share her couches and lead the way on walks and runs. No small kids in the house, I have three kids in their early 20s who come and go during weekends and school breaks. One of them is a vet technician, the other two just generally great with dogs.
“I am very happy with Atilio & Silvia's family and how they care for and about my dogs. They are careful with their feeding and prescriptions - and have fun with the dogs. I got pictures and feedback daily and my dogs always looks very relaxed. I will defininately use them whenever I travel, with confidence and pleasure! Many thanks for your open hearts and caring home!”

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.
“Yenis exceeded expectations!! I was so nervous to leave my Charlie with someone he was unfamiliar with but he had the best time with Yenis and looked so happy and comfortable in every photo I received. We will 100% be using her for future stays 😊 Thank you, Yenis!”

“I was so fortunate to have found Anastasiia to watch our dog Axel when we traveled to Europe. We had booked a sitter who cancelled - leaving us with very little time to find another over the holiday season. We had Anastasiia was reasonably priced compared to some of the other sitters available (watch out for price gouging during the holidays). I had booked someone who was less expensive but when we did the meet and great, I saw that they were using Rover to run a kennel: 10 dogs kept in an 8x6 garage - with no one home! I took a chance on Anastasiia because she is new to Rover. When I met her in her home, I could tell right away that Axel would be in good hands! The home is charming and so was Anastasiia's partner :-). During Axel's stay he got to go to the park and play and even got to go on a hike. Anastasiia asked me if it was ok to take him and how he was in the car. The pictures of their adventure made me smile :-). I was sent lots of pictures during Axel's stay - most either playing or lounging lol Axel was in good spirits when we picked him up. I felt comfortable and confident that my family member was being given good care while we were overseas. I highly recommend.”

“Angelimar is amazing! She watched our senior dog for over a week and was fantastic with her health needs, effortlessly managing a last-minute addition to her medication schedule. Our pup absolutely loved her stay and had the best time tagging along to work with Angelimar for extra companionship. Highly recommend!”

“Yury was wonderful—she shared adorable photos of Mika every day, communicated promptly, and made us feel completely at ease from the very first meet-and-greet. We’d happily book with her again!”

“Stephanie was so great I would recommend her to anyone! She sent pictures and updates everyday! She was super easy to contact and flexible with booking! Winston had a lovely time and I would definitely have her look after him again!”

“Leo helped us last minute with our dog Ellie. He was extremely communicative and sent us several pictures daily. We would absolutely use Leo again in the future! Ellie came back very sleepy, so she was well exercised and taken care of : )”

“We're so glad that we found Tanya! Daisy had a wonderful time, and I had a rare opportunity to meet a friend for a nice evening in New York City! We will definitely be calling on Tanya again. Highly recommended!”

“Jolysa is so friendly and accommodating! I highly recommend. She kept in close contact with me and was flexible with scheduling. My dogs were well taken care of and will absolutely use her again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 12, looking after puppies, adults, and seniors. I understand their needs based on their energy, age, and personality, whether it’s a gentle walk for older dogs or a sprint with active pups. Friends and neighbors trust me to babysit their dogs while they work or travel, knowing I’ll keep them safe, happy, and loved. I love walking, practicing tricks with dogs in training, and spending quality time with furry friends. Your dog’s safety is my priority—I’m mindful of weather conditions, avoid risks, and always communicate about treats, routes, or special instructions. For me, caring for dogs isn’t just a task; it’s truly a joy. I work from home two days a week and am usually home on weekends. My job is flexible, allowing me to take breaks during the day, which I love using for refreshing walks—especially with a dog by my side. I can also babysit dogs while working from home, as my apartment allows pets. I don’t have roommates, and my husband loves dogs just as much (if not more) than I do, so your pup will get plenty of love and attention in a calm, pet-friendly environment. I currently don’t have dogs of my own, as my pups live with my mom, so I truly miss spending time with furry friends and would love to care for yours. In my apartment, your pet will have enough space to rest and play indoors. I live less than 400 feet from a dog park, and the neighborhood is perfect for dog walking, giving your pup the chance to explore and get fresh air. My husband also works from home, so together we’ll keep a close eye on your furry friend, ensuring they’re happy, safe, and loved. If I’m caring for your pet at your home, I’ll adapt to their routine and the space they’re familiar with. Depending on the length of the stay, I’ll make sure they’re walked, given attention, and engaged in light training or play. For longer periods, I’m happy to work remotely from your location to provide consistent companionship and care.

“Isabella was a delight. I know Molly was well cared for. I received regular updates with photos and prompt responses. She is extremely accommodating and I felt at ease leaving my sweet dog under her care.”

About: Hi! I’ve had dogs my whole life and truly love caring for them. I understand every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll treat them like my own! 🐾 I do most of my work from home so I am available most days at any time to help out with any dog activities you need! Open to weekdays and Weekends. I love finding new areas and parks for long walks and open space. Our apartment is very clean and has space for any pet to rest and get comfy.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Northfield
Barbara was great with our 2 year old staffy mix! We were worried because she is very scared around new people and we had a small issue the first night, but after a couple of days Presley was having a blast with Barbara's dog and the other dog she was watching! It was great that Barbara was willing to take on the challenge and be very patient with her. She also sent pictures and updates throughout her stay ☺️

I had a good experience with Alena and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable to care for their dog. She stayed in touch with me throughout Dewey’s stay and sent me photos and updates, which I really appreciated. I felt comfortable and confident leaving Dewey in her care and knowing he was being well looked after. I would be happy to have her take care of Dewey again in the future. Thank you, Alena! 🐾❤️

I was out of town for a weekend and needed someone for dog boarding, so of course I went to Wendy! She was great with my dog and followed the care instructions I gave her. She provided updates throughout the day, was flexible with drop off/pick up time, and made things easy for me by dropping off my dog at my home. Wendy is great!

Melissa and Christian were fantastic with our two girls. Each day we received clever updates on what they were up to, how they were doing and what they have done. They were taken on multiple walks each day and were very comfortable with them. Will definitely be booking again with them!

Steph did a wonderful job caring for our dog. She was very communicative and provided updates daily along with the cutest photos. She really cares about the dogs she takes care of. Definitely one of the top sitters we’ve found on Rover! We would happily book again and highly recommend her! I can tell our pup was in great hands.

Emma took amazing care of our 2.5 year old lab for one week while we went away on vacation. She took great care of our dog giving her plenty of exercise and care. She shared videos and photos on a regular basis which we were grateful for. Our dog came home safe and sound. We would definitely ask Emma to take care of our dog again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Northfield home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Northfield.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Northfield sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
