“Harriet’s place...Ryder Beach Farm is a great location for our Cape Cod vacation. Being border collies, we loved being around all the other animals...donkeys, chickens, geese, goats, cats and dogs. We were on vacation so we kept our herding to a minimum. Accommodations were excellent...comfortable places to lie down, plenty of things to chew on and an occasional walk on the beach that included a stick for each of us. “David was such a great pal to my 8-month-old golden retriever, Stanley, who has the energy of a caffeinated toddler and the emotional eagerness of someone who thinks every head scratch might be their last. I got regular updates — photos of 5:30 a.m. tug-of-war, joyful dog park adventures, and one sneaky but proud toilet paper heist — which made being away for five days (our longest stretch yet!) so much easier. When I picked Stanley up, he was calm, happy, and clearly well-loved. Communication with David was smooth, direct, and quick, and he was super flexible. When Stanley saw me through the screen door at David’s place, he was wiggling with excitement — but also clearly torn to leave his new friends. I’d trust these two to hang out again anytime!”

About: I grew up with animals. As a result, I have had the responsibility of animal care since I was 6 years old. It is a part of my core self. I trained a rescue pit bull in my adult life. Through this process I learned a lot about the psychology of dogs and how to be a responsible dog owner. I had 12 wonderful years with her. I lost her in May and i am missing that canine connection. I am responsible, dependable, and I have a flexible schedule and a calm home. I have a flexible schedule. I work full time but some of that is from home. When I am not, at home, my office is a 7 minute drive away. Well behaved dogs can come to my office me. I have a small home that is primarily one floor. It has a yard (not fenced). I do not have children or other pets. I live a quiet and calm life and I am able to attend to animals with full attention.

About: I have extensive experience working with dogs of all sizes. Growing up, my family had large dogs (90+ pounds) for almost all of my life. I have watched and pet-sat for dogs of all sizes in the past few years for neighbors and friends. I’ve recently moved back to the Massachusetts area after a travel-heavy job for the past few years, so no fur babies of my own yet! I look forward to re-exploring some of the wonderful walking trails the Cape offers with your furry friends! I’m currently working as a server part-time, so have plenty of time to play with, walk, and feed your dogs/cats. I am available for boarding or pet-sitting in your home most weeks, and for walks nearly every evening, plus morning and afternoon shifts every Tuesday and Wednesday. I have a large backyard and walking trails within a 10-minute walk from my house, perfect for leashed adventures! I do not have any pets in the house full-time, but may have my parent’s well-trained and friendly rescue in the house on occasional weekends.

About: Hi! My name is Mariana and I am going to be a junior at UMass Amherst. I am currently living on Cape Cod for the summer, looking for pet care opportunities in the Eastham/Cape Cod area. I am very enthusiastic about my love for dogs and have experience with many ages, breeds, and sizes. I have 3 male Rhodesian Ridgebacks at home, named Mo (7), Bernie (2), and Frankie (2 months). Currently, I’m working part time at the Chatham Dog Club. In the past (From Jan 2025-Aug 2025),I had the pleasure of caring for a local family’s dogs: two German Shepards (Mo and Solo) and a Yellow lab (Hubert). Given their differing temperaments and high energy, I was able to orchestrate a safe and fun environment for all 3 dogs. Tasks included preparing meals, cleaning kennels and any other surfaces/food dishes as needed, and observing and participating in play time. Along with many other experiences, this one was truly so enjoyable and reinforced my love of dogs and everything that comes with caring for them. I would love to help you out and give your dogs the loving care they deserve! I am available all summer until the last week of August. I am also very flexible so I am willing to work with you or your schedule if needed! I am able to take your dog on walks with a leash, crate them if needed, play with them in any fenced in or closed off area, learn and give them any training commands they know, feed them, give them treats and pets!
