“My wife and I recently moved out of state from the Cape. We could not leave without writing one last review of Karen. We have left our dog Annie with Karen many times, sometimes for just a night or two and sometimes for over a week when taking longer vacations. We cannot begin to say how much we and Annie will miss Karen and Juni. Karen is the kindest person you could ever meet. She loves dogs and immediately took Annie in as though her own. She is a dog whisperer. Annie loves her. She is truly a remarkable dog sitter and human being. As for Juni, Annie loved playing with her, sleeping next to her and just being with her whenever she would visit. Juni is the sweetest, most friendly and happy lab. Annie will miss her terribly. Annie would begin barking with excitement the moment we got off route 6 for Hyannis. This always made our hearts sing. Karen and Juni are simply exceptional. My wife, Annie, and I will forever miss them.”

About: I’m a lifetime animal lover, and get along terrifically well with dogs. My house is the go-to for friends and family needing a place for their pups to stay. I am retired with volunteer jobs part-time (2mornings), during the week. I’m never away from home for more than a few hours during which time my dog-friendly feline can either ignore your dog or keep them company. I’m home the majority of the time. Cozy corner in my den seems to be everyone’s favorite hangout and spot for their bed. The ilving room has multiple sunny spots for napping throughout the day. We will take several neighborhood walks a day and if dog and owner are willing, I go to Thompson’s field in Harwich where they can romp.

My days provide good flexibility to accomodate walks, let-outs, and canine slumber parties. I have a 12 year-old Pyrenees/Border-Collie mix, who loves to get out and move around, so I'm no stranger to the 4-5 walks/day schedule ;) Maintaining your trust, and your furry family member's safety will always be top priority. I will always defer to owners and their guidance, since parents know best! Home care will focus on meals, finding comfortable spots in lieu of a potentially awkward new setting, and lots of love and support. I know how anxious I get when I leave Oreo (my pup) alone for 15 minutes to run an errand, so I hope to alleviate those concerns and ensure that your pup will have a blast.

“Outstanding!! Pupper is a fairly shy, quiet little dog, but he immediately took to Isabella -- she absolutely "gets" dogs. Her home is very well set up for dogs, with cozy beds, generous water bowls, and pup blankets on the sofa. The many photos she sent me during Pupper's stay showed me that he was completely happy and comfortable, either in her arms or lounging in a dog bed, keeping an eye on the kitchen. :) Isabella is a treasure and I highly recommend!”

About: I love fresh air and think it's important for dogs to be dogs and enjoy it! Even without a dog, I go for walks every day to get my puppy fix and love to be outside. I also grew up with cats and am happy to keep any and all furry friends company! I have over 15 years of experience with everything from pet-sitting to babysitting and house-sitting, and I find it important that you feel comfortable while you're away from home. I am extremely trustworthy and responsible and would love to provide that comfort to your family. I have a corporate work-from-home job that offers me flexibility to help most weekdays and weekends. About: My love for animals started at an early age. As a child, I constantly begged my parents for a dog. The rule was that we could only get one when every family member was old enough to help care for it. With my youngest sibling being six years younger, I had a bit of a wait – but we finally adopted our first dog when I was a teenager, and soon after, a second joined the family. That’s when my pet care journey truly began. Since then, I’ve adopted my own pets (currently have one six year-old DSH cat) and regularly help care for the pets of friends and family when they’re out of town or at work. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated with love, respect, and personalized care – just like one of my own. Whether your fur baby enjoys walks, playtime, snuggles, or simply prefers quiet company, I’ll make sure their unique needs and preferences are always honored. I work from home full-time, which allows me the flexibility to take walks and breaks throughout the day. I’m available Monday through Friday as well as some weekends. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss specific dates and times. I’m located near the beach, which makes for a great walking spot but I’m also happy to stroll through the neighborhood if your dog prefers a quieter route. I have a yard where we can play fetch or run around, though it is not fenced in. Inside, there’s plenty of space for your dog to explore and relax freely. If I need to step out briefly, I prefer to use a crate for their safety – if that’s something your pet is comfortable with. I also have a six year old DSH cat. He’s friendly, but tends to keep to himself when there are others in the house so he will likely stay in a separate room by choice.

“Kathleen was such a joy to work with when my husband and I were looking for someone to care for our black lab (1.25 years old) while away on a long weekend trip. From the initial outreach, Kathleen was extremely responsive and accommodating to schedule a meet up before booking. She was extremely welcoming and loving to our pup. Kathleen also was very easy to communicate with in the days leading up to our trip to make sure we were all on the same page with the time to drop off Chappy and other details of his stay. During the stay, Kathleen provided multiple updates each day - many walks, lots of play time, videos, pictures, and texts to ensure he was having a great time and doing well. We felt so comfortable with Kathleen watching Chappy, especially since this was our first time using Rover and having someone other than family watch our dog. Kathleen was extremely organized, returning all of Chappy’s items we left her with and was very easy to work with. We would definitely recommend working with Kathleen and we will definitely book with Kathleen again for future needs when we are away. She was so great!”
