“The hardest part of going away is not being able to bring your pets. I am grateful to Brittany and her great care of my pets AND my home while I was away. I was able to enjoy my time knowing that my pets were being well cared for.”

“It's been a minute since I used Rover (eight or nine years goes by quick). I had a great Rover sitter out West many years ago when there was no whites on his face, butt, and paws. He was just a black pup then. He walked, ran, and leapt pain-free. 'Mack', like his owner, has just simply gotten older, and is described with whatever adjectives come with the word, 'old' since. Enter Angela. I reached out to her a couple weeks before I was leaving for a week, and she responded promptly. She came to my house a few days later, over the weekend, to meet him. Mack is vocal, overly so at times, and is protective of me, in spite of my attempts to dissuade that behavior, constantly, for 13 years. Get near me, he barks. Just the way it is. Angela gave him a treat here and there while being unwavered and kind to him. He was nipping her heels as I showed her around my place... ...still unwavered and kind. I knew she was the right person, and she took the job which was staying at my house with him for a week. She walked the old man every day, took excellent care of my house (absolutely not asked of her), easily navigated a farmer's dog diet, and fired happy/action pictures of my dog to me every evening. He was definitely loved. He showed his belly in return. He doesn't do that for just anyone. I could tell he was kinda bummed it was me in charge again when I returned. I wanna keep Angela to myself, but it's only fair to recommend her. She's responsible, beyond trustworthy, and truly great with doggies! Highly recommended!”

“Ashley was absolutely fantastic with Spencer! She took such great care of him, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure he was happy, comfortable and well looked after. She was reliable, attentive, and very communicative. We also came home to a spotless house. I would highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking her again!”

About: I’ve had many dogs throughout my lifetime ranging from a 220 lb. English Mastiff to a 16 lb. Silky Terrier. I currently own the most hilarious dog ever….an Irish Terrier from the Czech Republic. My daughter is currently interning at Veterinary Associates of Cape Cod and my husband grew up with Pugs, Newfoundlands and Labs. To say we love dogs is an understatement 😊. I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home. We have a beautiful fenced in back yard and access to Nickerson State Park from our doorstep as well! Our pet is one of us. He’s allowed on our furniture, he is allowed on every bed in the house and he gets lots of love and attention. He LOVES having friends to play inside or outside in his beautiful fenced in back yard.
“While we were away for a medical procedure, our 15 year old dog became quite ill, requiring lots of attention and complex caregiving — and house cleaning — as well as comforting. Caitlin managed all parts of this VERY difficult booking, which was much more than she bargained for, with competence and grace , and kept her safe and comfortable while we scheduled the Vet and raced home. We were so relieved to have such close and competent attention for our little girl, and grateful for Caitlin‘s grace and confidence at a precarious time. We can’t say enough good about Caitlin and we can’t thank herenough.”

“Such a caring, kind and conscientious person. I cannot recommend Panny enough. We went on a three week trip to Africa and came home to a calm dog and a spotless home. I have been hiring dog-sitters for 30 years and Panny made them all pale by comparison.”

About: I love all kinds of fur babies! They aren't just pets; they’re family. I have had dogs of my own for 35 years and grew up around them. I have the patience for puppy care and consistency needed to help them learn life skills like house training. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I enjoy staying active, organized, and spending time with animals. I make time throughout the day for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, bathroom breaks, and giving pets attention and companionship. I’m able to plan my schedule around a pet’s needs to make sure they receive consistent care, exercise, and supervision. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, so I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I care for pets by making sure they stay on their normal routine as much as possible and receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. I also provide companionship so pets feel less stressed while their owners are away, and I keep owners updated with messages and photos for peace of mind.
“Dani was great. We needed a last minute booking, and she responded promptly. Our pet is a bit of a drama dog and pretty much pouts while we are away. Dani rolled with it and managed to get him to cuddle a bit. We will definitely keep Dani in mind for future bookings.”

“Kathleen is an absolute gem! Our elderly Maltese dogs had never had a stranger as a sitter but we found ourselves with no one to watch them and we wanted to visit our new grandchild in Colorado. From the moment we met her at a 'meet and greet' we found her to be friendly, caring and experienced. We booked her for 5 days to stay at our home and it was the best decision! Our dogs, being older , have their quirks but Kathleen made us feel comfortable about leaving them. She sent us daily photos and videos telling us how well they were doing. I felt at ease and confident she would do her very best to care for them-- and she did. It was just like having a family member care for our dogs. Our house was immaculate when we returned and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience!”

About: I love fresh air and think it's important for dogs to be dogs and enjoy it! Even without a dog, I go for walks every day to get my puppy fix and love to be outside. I also grew up with cats and am happy to keep any and all furry friends company! I have over 15 years of experience with everything from pet-sitting to babysitting and house-sitting, and I find it important that you feel comfortable while you're away from home. I am extremely trustworthy and responsible and would love to provide that comfort to your family. I have a corporate work-from-home job that offers me flexibility to help most weekdays and weekends. I am available to be around as often as needed, whether that be one-time drop-ins or spending a day working from "home" with some furry coworkers. I always make sure everyone is safe and happy, with a healthy awareness of dog behaviors and experience with reactive animals. I clean up after myself and always leave places cleaner than I find them.

About: A tride and true animal lover! Always had a fur baby in my life since I was a little girl. Proud Momma to Stubby and Libby my two rescue kitties. Who rescued who? I often ask myself. I began my journey working with animals when I owned and operated a homemade dog & kitty treat business. I sold my goods at the local Farmers Market. However, sadly due to Covid I was unable to continue the business. Many of my market customers began to reach out to me looking for a dog walker/per sitter. So….one thing led to another and here I am! I now do this full time. And I am being 100% honest when I say - I absolutely LOVE my work! Each animal I care for is so special to me! Ive had some clients since they were tiny puppies. It’s amazing watching them grown up and being a part of their lives! I also always go the extra mile. If my schedule allows I stay beyond the booking time too. Caring, loving, devoted...our pets are surely members of our family. They deserve unconditional love in return for their loyalty. I vow to give your fur babies the same love and attention I shower on all the dogs and cats in my life. Flexible and available all the time and at night. Very flexible! Can also do last minute appointments if emergencies arise. This is my full time job! Plus being a mom. I dedicate all time and attention to animals and my kids. I have flexibility in my day to accommodate all of your needs and requests. I can start early since my kids are up and out for school by 7:15 am. I always go the extra mile! I grow very attached to the animals I care for. And I alway stay longer than the allotted visit time if my schedule allows.
About: I treat all dogs as if they’re my own! I have an Aussie Mix and a German Shepherd who love to be outdoors and stay active. I look forward to meeting you and your pup. Can be flexible on cost for reoccurring walks/drop ins! I work as a full time medical sales rep which helps me create a flexible work schedule during the week and weekends! I can plan in advance or help out last minute. I have a safely wooded yard on a private quiet road with only 8 homes on the street. We are always outdoors playing fetch and going on walks.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Namskaket
This was the second time we used Taigh and he took great care of our dog and our house yet again - this time for a 10-day period. He provided me with updates and photos of our fur baby throughout the stay. He was very accommodating and flexible with some last minute family members showing up and he also helped us by taking in mail and packages. He washed and changed the sheets and tidied up before leaving which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Taigh and would have him as a pet sitter again in a heartbeat!

A wonderful pet sitter! Taylor was kind and patient meeting Lily before her overnights. Lily can be nervous around new people, and Taylor gave her space to come to her on her own. After meeting Taylor we knew she would care for Lily and we could enjoy our time away with complete confidence. Taylor was timely arriving at the house and flexible about how late we needed her to stay on the day we came home. She was very communicative during the two days, asking questions and giving us updates. The house was spotless when we returned. We will definitely reach out to her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of October 2026, there are 255 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Namskaket. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Namskaket walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Namskaket maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Namskaket choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
