My schedule is pretty flexible nowadays. I adapt to your care routine and schedule. I am available seven days a week from Sunday through Saturday. But please note that since I am a wedding planner, there’s a possibility that I may book an 8-10 hour day after we book. That means the pets will have to be able to be left alone for this long or you’ll need to find someone, such as a friend, to make 1 drop in while I’m at the event to handle dinner & let out. I wouldn’t do more than 1 long event per week though. Odds are higher May-October.

I adapt to your care routine. We do a meet n greet where we discuss their routine as well as any expectations. If it’s a good fit, we book! We bring our own blanket so it’s operationally easier for you. I have always done this since I began way back when. That way you don’t have to wash a heavy blanket before and after my stay. All we need are clean sheets on the bed, a little fridge space (longer stays), and clean pillows. I’ll disinfect and strip the bed on the final day. Please note that you only get 1 meet n greet. If you need me to come back for any reasoning Ie: do another walk through, meet n greet, or pick up keys, I do charge! My schedule is way too busy. Please leave very detailed notes.

Information Alexa T. would like to know about your pet

1. How do your dogs typically behave with other dogs and people? 2. What’s the normal routine? Notes would be helpful either in the app or written down. Please include the following: - food routine - how often do you let out and how? Ie: is there a fenced in yard or leash? - how often can it be left alone for? - any behavioral issues? - any medical issues? - any treats? - any other normalities 3. Do you have any cameras or audio in the home? They can stay turned on, as I understand they can be beneficial to check in on your little fur buddies or home when you’re not there, but I need their full disclosure and locations for personal privacy purposes. Examples: Believe it or not, I’ve seen cameras left on in the bedroom, likely an accident but that is where I change. I also work from home and take client or even personal calls and would like to know if audio can be heard. That way, if I need full privacy, I can take it outside or arrange to take at another location. 4. What’s your wifi password? Please test beforehand. I do work from home remotely, so I’ll be using your home as a temporary office. This is good, because it gives the animals more company during the day.

A typical day

It’s difficult to say because it truly depends on your care routine. I adapt to your needs. That’s what rover is all about! I however can provide a typical sample for a dog routine: We’ll wake up, go out/feed. I’ll give lunch or other quick pee breaks during the day time as needed. Then, at 5, I’ll let out again and feed. We'll play out in the yard if it’s nice. I’ll then cook myself dinner and then we’ll hang out in the living room and watch tv until bed. Then I’ll let out. Depending on the day, I may leave the dog alone for a few hours to attend a personal outing or appointment but this will be discussed upfront with the owner and depends on the care routine. However I love nature walks and wouldn’t mind taking the dog for a walk on a trail or to a nearby park!

Pet care experience

My name is Alexa and I've owned a dog since I was a little girl. I grew up with 3 different Labrador retrievers in my life. By growing up with a dog, I learned how to take care of it, such as puppy training, feeding, grooming, elder care, etc. I've been on Rover.com since 2016 (10 years) because I love animals! Unfortunately I had to watch the dogs I grew up with get sick and pass away. I understand how difficult it can be to raise a dog, especially when you're working, traveling, and supporting a family. I lived in NYC for 5 years and couldn’t own a dog in my apartment. This is how it all started, a passionate hobby to find some animal interaction on my free time. It then turned into something more than that as I really enjoyed helping the animals, working with their behaviors, and helping the people so they could go away. It is also a good side income gig, as I’m now saving for a long term investment. I’ve since moved back to Cape Cod, where I am a wedding planner, running my own business and working remotely. A few years ago, during the pandemic, I worked at an animal shelter in Brewster, caretaking the neglected animals. As I mentioned, I have a passion for helping animals and for helping with their behavioral problems. This was the most rewarding job I’ve had and I’ve applied many of the behavioral cues I learned to this job. My fiance, Eric, usually travels with me since I petsit too often. This was meant to be a side gig that I started on my own, and has really grown quite a bit since then. Now that I am in a serious relationship, being away for long periods of time has been challenging for us and I don’t want to end contributing to this good cause yet. He is very loving and good with dogs. I will be the sole caretaker, responsible for the well being of your pets, since this is my business. He will just be there for an extra hand and to keep the pets company. Or if I have a long wedding or event to work at, he can step in. Eric is very trustworthy, clean, and respectful. He actually works a lot so really would only be around in evenings and nights. He leaves early to fish, sometimes at midnight. He gets a few days off though a week, as do I. He’s been coming with me for 3 years now and there have been no issues or complaints. He probably will not be at the meet n greet, as his work schedule changes daily, making it impossible for me to plan meetings in advance with him. He’s a commercial fisherman, supplying all the restaurants we love on the cape with fresh scallops and lobster. I used to ask clients for their preference, but now I have a lot of clients and am often booked back to back each week. I’m usually only at my actual home for a few days or an occasional week or month here and there. So that’s why we now just travel as a couple. If it’s not a good fit, I completely understand, you do not need to book. We are both responsible adults and would never be irresponsible in your home. We are both in our 30s and own a condo in Brewster, so are very responsible homeowners. We do not need a place to throw any parties or invite people over to. That’s just not us, we don’t even entertain at our home or go out much besides for a nice evening dinner out.

Our pups were well cared for by Alexa on somewhat short notice. They’ve been in her care several times now and the photos and updates give us great peace of mind. Highly recommend Alexa!

Alexa is the best! We book with her, on repeat, as she takes amazing care of our two, large shepherds. Im a worrier, and it is wonderful to trust a sitter deeply enough to NOT worry while away from our pups.
