“Lana was great! -- so dependable and thorough in taking care of our two felines, even going the extra mile to return and find our shy elusive cat who likes to hide. Loved the many photos. We will definitely hire Lana again if she's available.”

“Cassidy was wonderful with our cat, Leo! She visited twice a day to take care of his feeding and cleanup, and she did an amazing job. She was incredibly reliable, punctual, and kept us completely at ease while we were away. It’s always tough leaving your pet behind, but knowing Cassidy was checking in made all the difference. Leo was happy, well-fed, and perfectly cared for. We will absolutely be hiring Cassidy again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Hanaya did a great job taking care of our cat for the week - showing up on time each day, sending regular pictures, and communicating well with us. She's a very dependable service provider.”

About: I've had three dogs in my life. One turned 17 this year. She's a happy old lady but does require some medications that I have learned to administer and I make sure they are given on time and properly. I enjoy taking my pups on long walks on nice days. Aside from my personal dogs I have spent time house and dog sitting for two other people with various different dog types with different personalities. For one of these people, she is also a dog sitter and I assisted her in one emergency situation where she needed needed me to stay the weekend and care for the five dogs in her care plus her two minor children. I work full time with set hours Monday - Friday. I'm free weekends. Early morning walks are easily done but afternoon walks are after 4. Depending on location, how close a location is to my job, I do have a 30min lunch where I can run out and give a quick walk. For my personal dog I tend to do a good long walk in the morning and another good long walk after 4 to make up for the long day. I've never worried about bathroom accidents with her. I love dogs. That's just a fact. I protect them anyway I can. I have gone out to look for neighborhood lost dogs, I have seen paw prints, but no shoe prints, in the snow during a snow storm and I went out searching for what I was sure was a lost escaped dog. Before leaving my house, I do a scan to make sure there's nothing dangerous out that my dog could access, hanging cords, small items, loose treats, etc... to make sure she's always safe.

“Bianca has amazing communication skills! I’m reassured my pet is well loved by her. She bonded with him right away! She’s considerate to his needs. She went above and beyond when my dog didn’t want to “make”.”

“Alexandra took amazing care of our senior cat, making sure he was well cared for and given plenty of attention while we were away. We appreciated the prompt updates and could tell he was in great hands. I would highly recommend Alexandra!”

“Aaron has been an amazing sitter for my pets. I have an older lab and he has worked with him on several behavior issues and I see such a dramatic change in my dog! I highly recommend Aaron not only for pet sitting but training as well.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our two cats! She took care of them for 6 weeks and was absolutely wonderful the entire time, reliable, flexible, and clearly treated our cats like her own. She kept the litter boxes clean, fed them on schedule, and made sure they got plenty of playtime so they never felt lonely. What really stood out was how communicative she was, she sent us photo updates every single visit, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We came home to happy, healthy cats. Highly, highly recommend her, we’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Samantha provided drop in visits for our 3 cats while we were away on vacation. She was super friendly, reliable and an excellent communicator. She was also accommodating to our specific requests and we were able to relax knowing that our cats and house were in amazing hands while we were away. We will not hesitate to book Samantha again in the future.”

About: I'm Steven, a former science teacher who turned a lifelong love of animals into full-time pet care. I've cared for my own dogs for years (John, a Yorkie, and Lucy, my senior Chihuahua) and have looked after friends' and neighbors' dogs, cats, and small pets for as long as I can remember. I'm Fear Free Certified and Red Cross Pet First Aid & CPR certified, and I'm fully insured and bonded. Teaching taught me patience, routine, and how to read what someone needs when they can't say it in words, which is exactly what good pet care takes. Every booking is handled personally by me, so you'll always know who's showing up at your door. I do this full-time, so your pet is a priority, not a side gig. For house sitting I keep your pet on their normal routine, same feeding times, walks, and bedtime, and I send photo and text updates throughout so you can relax while you're away. I follow feeding and medication instructions exactly (I give my own senior dog his meds on a strict schedule, so I take it seriously). Every booking starts with a free meet & greet so your pet and I are comfortable before anything is confirmed. Since I come to you, your pet stays in their own home, familiar surroundings, their own bed and yard, which keeps them calmest, especially seniors and anxious pets. I treat your home with respect: doors locked, mail brought in, plants watered if you'd like, everything left as I found it. I have two dogs of my own, John, a Yorkie, and Lucy, a senior Chihuahua, so I'm comfortable with everything from high-energy pups to gentle senior care.
“Cam is attentive, proactive, and thorough. Our booking occurred during the blizzard, He stayed in constant contact and came to our rescue when we were stranded overseas. Cam is a gem. We will happily book with Cam in the future.”

About: I have a female morkie who is 8 years old. Since she joined our home at 2 months old, I have been responsible for her training and daily care. With a bag of treats, I can teach your dog basic commands and small tricks. I love dogs of all breeds and sizes and will treat your dog as if they were my own while they're in my care. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule! Mornings, afternoons, and evenings all work for me, it just depends on the day. I’m also willing to do walks and visits in between classes if the location allows time for it. I will follow any house rules provided for myself and the dog. Your pet will always be attended to and well taken care of, with lots of love and positive energy :)
About: I have been caring for my clients dogs for over 10 years. I love walking and playing with all animals. I also have my own dog who can be a companion if your dog needs a playmate. I am a fulltime dog walker, have a very flexible schedule and can generally be available on short notice for drop-ins and walks or even on hikes! I am also available for overnight dog/house sitting! All services will be at my clients houses or in their neighborhoods for walks. This allows dogs to be in environments that they are already comfortable with while meeting somebody new.
“Wendy was a wonderful, thoughtful caretaker of my fur baby. She asked great questions upon meeting my dog, and followed all of my instructions perfectly. I will definitely be using her again!”

About: I grew up with two dogs and two cats my whole life! I’ve been a pet sitter to my family members and friends for the past decade and love animals. My job and travel schedule does not allow me to have my own dog full time but I would love to have the opportunity to take care of yours :) I’m very responsible and caring to pets and humans!! I work full time but work from home Thursday/Friday and of course am free on weekends! I can re-arrange my WFH schedule to best suit your dogs needs. When I work from home I typically have very few if any meetings, instead I go on walks or runs and enjoy the outdoors (weather permitting ☺️) I have a fenced in terrace that is 25 x 20 ft for any dogs to enjoy at their leisure when I pet sit! I am very responsible and vigilant as a sitter. My primary concern are the pets I’m sitting and will be very consistent with that mindset for the duration of their stay.
“Annabel did a great job for my 2 cats while I was away for a week. She sent great pictures and even cleaned up when they got into a treat bag one day. Highly recommend!”

“Ria is a true animal lover, and she was wonderful, attentive, and communicative during her stay with our dog and cat! She sent regular updates and photos, and even spent more time with them then I had originally asked because our dog seemed nervous. She was very patient in giving him time to get used to her, and I can tell that they were both so well loved while we were away, it gave me tremendous peace of mind! I will definitely be requesting Ria's services in the future!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Stamford. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
