“Reesi and Tanner made themselves right at home with Sindy and her family within a few minutes after arriving there. We were a bit concerned about how they might adjust in a new place with new people, but we soon discovered we didn't have to worry at all. We were able to leave them for the day and not worry about a thing. Sindy even sent us several pictures of them throughout the day to let us know they were safe and sound while we were able to enjoy our 4-year-old grandson's birthday party in another state. We highly recommend Sindy when you need someone to care for your pets while away!”

“Mikayla and Alen were amazing and so accommodating. Our pup enjoyed a fun weekend with them. They were very flexible about pick up and drop off and they sent frequent updates. You won’t regret using them for your dog sitting needs! We will definitely be back.”

“Felicia was absolutely incredible with Luna. She took her on so many great walks. Sent pics of Luna snuggled up on her couch. Luna came back so happy but wiped after the couple of busy and active days with Felicia. Luna is already looking forward to her next stay! Would highly recommend Felicia - she was so awesome, highly communicative and took amazing care of Luna🐾”

“Bae was great and cam through lase minute when we got stuck, and our dog seemed to do really great with them. On top of that when we arrived one day earlier she initiated a refund which we did not ask for. I heartily recommend her for your dog.”

About: I am a lifetime dog lover and would love to care for your dog like they were my own. My last dog, Finn, gained his angel wings in June and was with me for 15 amazing years. I'd like to continue caring for other pups in his honor! I am also an approved foster for a local dog rescue, and have experience with puppies, mama dogs, and older dogs. I am very happy to care for older dogs as they hold a special place in my heart! If your dog boards with me, they will get tons of love, snuggles, exercise and walks, and have a safe place to be while you are away. My goal is to make my home their second favorite place to be :) I currently work from home full time and have a very flexible schedule. I do have two school aged children at home, so we have a very consistent daily and weekly routine. Until recently, we had a dog at home, so pet care fits very naturally into our days. We have a large back yard away from the road. It is not fenced in, but I will take your pet out on a leash for bathroom breaks, walking for exercise and some supervised playing! There will not be any outside time that is unsupervised. I am very familiar with crate trained dogs or with uncrated dogs as long as they are safe outside of the crate (as in they are old enough not to eat dangerous things etc). If you have a puppy that is not house trained yet, I request that they be in a crate for night time. Inside the home, they will have access only to the floor that I am on at the moment, so as to keep them safe and out of trouble! We have plenty of gates and other items to block off different parts of the house. Mostly they will just be hanging out with me! I also have an octagon style play pen for puppies.

“Becky and Bill are amazing! Our pooch Barley stayed with them for a week and you could tell he was loved and cared for. Becky sent regular updates and even gave Barley a new nick name "Lion guy" :) Barley also got great socialization with the other pups. We will definitely be calling Becky and Bob again for our next trip out of town”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs for over 10 years and have always loved caring for animals. I recently moved out of my parents’ home after losing my last childhood dog, and I’m not quite ready to have my own dog just yet. I’d love to spend that time caring for and loving other people’s pets! I’m comfortable with dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels and understand that every dog has their own routine and needs. I’m happy to take dogs on walks, play with them, give them lots of attention, and keep them comfortable in a home environment. I’m responsible, patient, attentive, and will treat your pet like they are my own. I work three night shifts per week as a nurse, while my partner works weekday mornings and afternoons as an electrician. Because of our schedules, there are plenty of days and times when I’m available to give pets my full attention with his help. I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship. We have an unfenced lawn at home and live on a quiet dead-end road with safe walking areas around a lake, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and outdoor time. I’m also happy to follow whatever routine works best for your pet! Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. We live on a quiet dead-end road with a safe area to walk and a lake nearby, and I’m happy to take dogs out on a leash for walks and exercise. Although we do not have a fenced-in yard, we have a lawn and I will always make sure pets are supervised and safely leashed when outside. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I will treat every animal in my care with the same patience, attention, and love I would give my own. I’m also happy to follow specific feeding, walking, medication, or routine instructions to help your pet feel comfortable while you’re away.

“Damaris was amazing. She cared for our baby like we do, and I was at ease knowing she was able to give attention, send pictures and care for my puppy while we were away. I will definitely be using her again. She was amazing!”

“Kat is a great doggo host. She is very knowledgeable about K9's and treated my pup like her own. She is very communicative, sends pictures while your pup is staying with her along with any updates on the shenanigans going on while staying with her. My dog assimilated well with her host pack and I would HIGHLY recommend her if you need daycare, training or boarding. Her energy is great & I enjoyed my time away knowing my dog was in EXCELLENT HANDS. Thanks again Kat!!!!!!!!”

“My dog really enjoyed her time there! She got to play in the yard and was able to keep cool during the head wave in the kiddie pools. Melissa made sure she had a lot of fun and got a lot of attention”

“Thanks Donna for fitting us in last minute to watch Lexi! We were happy Lexi felt right at home & was well taken care of. We will definitely use your services in the near future, thanks again.”

“Mimi is GREAT! She took amazing care of my dog. She has a wonderful indoor space in her home for your dog to play, hang out, and sleep and a big yard for outside time. She even took my dog on a few adventures — a trip to Home Depot and a walk in the park. She seemed to really clue into my dog’s personality and connect with her. Will definitely be setting up another visit with Mimi!”

“Over the years, I've repeatedly turned to Daisy for help with Offer, my cherished dog. Each time, Daisy's care has been consistently exceptional. Her genuine love for animals and dedication to their well-being is truly remarkable. I highly recommend her as a trusted and compassionate pet caregiver.”

About: I love animals of all kinds, but my favorite domesticated animal is a dog. I am known by a lot of my clients and people I know personally as “The Dog Whisperer” I have 2 fur babies of my own who I love more than anything on this green earth. When I am taking care of your fur baby or babies, you can be away peacefully, knowing that they are being loved, cared for, and treated as if they were my own. I say “hi” to dogs before I say “hi” to people. I work 35 minutes from home. I have every other weekend off. I do have to work most holidays but with planning it will work out. If I’m in your home, I will go by your house rules and go with your dog(s) routine the best I can when I am not working. When I am in my own home, I just ask that you bring whatever it is you would use in a day for your furry baby. Leash, harness, food etc. no need for a crate as I have a couple here if needed.
“We left our almost 2 year old husky with Gabriel for the weekend and have no regrets. He was extremely prompt when contacted for booking. He was very welcoming when we stopped by for a visit prior to booking and our dog loved him right away. During our vacation he sent us videos and made sure Rocky’s needs were met. We will definitely book Gabriel again when needing boarding care.”

“Monty's stay with Felicia was great! She provided us with lots of updates along the way, and we felt like he was in very safe hands. Our puppy came home happy and relaxed, and it was adorable at pickup seeing how much Felicia and her kids enjoyed having him there ❤️”

“Julie took great care of Daisy for us while we went away on a trip over Thanksgiving. She kept us updated daily with photos and how she was doing. We would highly recommend Julie. She cared for Daisy exceptionally well :)”

“Karen & her family greeted us with open arms & took the best care of our Ellie May while we were away for the week! We will definitely reach out again the next time we travel. Highly recommend her as a pet care taker! You won't be disappointed at all!”

I am so glad that we have found such a caring and loving family for Twinkle. Twinkle had a wonderful stay with Julia and her kids. She got a lot of love and had so much fun playing with the kids during her stay. Julia is super flexible and super responsive. She sent us awesome pictures/videos almost daily and kept us well informed about Twinkle. I will definitely come back to Julia for Twinkle's care in the future when we are out of town. Thank you so much, Julia!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their North Salem home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your North Salem.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your North Salem sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
