“Jamie is wonderful! Our (somewhat shy) cats love her! Jamie is a great communicator and is highly reliable. I trust her fully with the health of our pets and our home. We will hire Jamie for future visits without hesitation.”

“Alyssa was wonderfully attentive for the drop-in visits we scheduled to take care of our two cats. All of the instructions were followed precisely and she provided all the photos I requested (worried for a cat who doesn't eat well when we're not at home). She also provided great notes with context of what she observed during her visits. We met for a meet & greet at the house and to go over the care routine, and we were impressed with her pleasant and calm energy which is a must for any caretaker of our anxious cats. She provided not just the requested service but also peace of mind. Thank you Alyssa, we'll definitely be looking to book with you again!! 🙏😸”

About: I am currently a veterinary student, so I have an extensive knowledge of animal behavior and caretaking! I also have extensive experience in a clinic setting and pet-sitting over the years! I am a full time student, but have lunch breaks where I can come home and check in! I also am very active, so if your pet is high energy we will be a great match! I chose a career that prioritizes animal welfare and happiness, and that carries over into life outside of my schooling/job! I assure you that your pet will be in the best hands.
About: Hello dog owners! And maybe even a few cats. My name is Nolan, I'm a twenty five year old guy looking to fill the gap that is a home with no pets in it, alongside making a little money of course! There has been no point in my life up until now that I haven't had dogs actively in my life, from pitbulls and bulldogs, to golden retrievers and yellow labs. There is no dog too naughty and no dog too young or old in my mind. I have bottle fed puppies as well as carried the most senior dogs up and down stairs. The creatures hold a particularly sweet place in my heart and if you are in a lifestyle that makes your little buddy need some outside help, I hope you would consider me as your walker because I will treat every pup with the patience and love I believe they all deserve, and I prefer to walk an individual families pets more so than a whole herd because I know they all want some attention specific to them. Hope to hear from you and your pup soon! At the moment I am applying for some VA assistance having finished my time in the service. So my schedule is wide open, I wish to be able to use my time well, help others and their pets to make a little scratch while I reacclimate. I would be willing to do drop in visits, potentially stay overs after enough time if that service is requested, so that we may get to know one another. Person to person and to pet! Im a big believer in the value of enrichment play, and like to apply a mixture of walk/run, fetch, tug, and hide and seek games with toys and treats. Anything I can do to help a pets mind flex as much as its limbs. But the skies the limit when theres familiarity and comfort with an animal. Feel free to explain any of your needs and we will work on it together.
About: I have had pets, including dogs, cats, and rats, since I was 3 years old. I am a wildlife biologist by training, so I have experience caring for all sorts of animals. I have experience taking care of both my own and others' senior pets. I also two adorable kitties of my own! I am available most evenings and weekends to take care of your pets. I am working a flexible hybrid in-office/telework schedule, so I have flexibility to care for your pets during the work day. I am happy to take care of your fur baby in your own home. I have my own transportation to get to your home, and in the very rare case of emergency to transport your pet to a vet. I interact with animals in a very calm manner as they get to know me.

About: Hello, I love meeting new animals and visiting the pets in the animal shelter! I have had a puppy and 3 cats growing up and would love to work for you! I am currently able to work in the mornings and evenings everyday. I am a college student who misses her pet at home and considers pets like family. I have a cat and love my significant others dog like my own. I love animals like family and miss mine from home since I am currently living at college.
About: I'm a lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for my own two dogs, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding each dog's unique personality. With my second dog especially, I took an active role in training and behavior development, learning how to use positive reinforcement and establish routines that help dogs feel secure and happy. I regularly help friends by providing midday potty breaks and companionship for their dogs when they're at work or traveling. This has given me experience with different breeds, temperaments, and household routines. I understand how important it is to follow each pet's specific schedule, respect house rules, and provide the attention and exercise they're used to. I know that every dog is different - some need lots of playtime and stimulation, while others prefer quiet companionship. I'm comfortable with basic commands, can recognize signs of stress or discomfort, and always prioritize the pet's safety and well-being above all else. I currently work part-time, which gives me excellent flexibility for pet care services. I'm available every weekday after 3pm and have full availability on weekends. This schedule works perfectly for dog walks, evening pet visits, and weekend pet sitting when families are traveling. My part-time work arrangement means I can be consistent and reliable with your pet's routine. Whether you need daily walks, midday check-ins, or weekend care, I can accommodate regular schedules and provide the consistency that pets thrive on. I'm also available for last-minute requests when my schedule allows. I understand that pets need care even when their families are working full days, and my afternoon and weekend availability is ideal for busy pet parents who want to ensure their furry family members get attention and exercise while they're away. During pet check-ins, I focus on making sure each animal gets the individual attention and care they need. I always let dogs spend as much time outside as they want - whether that's a quick potty break or a longer play session in the yard. I pay attention to their energy level and preferences that day. I believe quality time is just as important as meeting basic needs, so I make sure to engage with each pet through play, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. For more active dogs, I'm happy to take them on short walks during my visit to give them extra exercise and mental stimulation. I follow the specific instructions and routines that pet parents provide, but I also adapt to what the pet seems to need in the moment. Some days they might want to play fetch, other days they just want someone to sit with them. I always make sure they have fresh water, food if needed, and that they seem comfortable and content before I leave. I provide updates to pet parents so they know how their furry family member is doing, including any highlights from our time together.
About: Hi, my name is Stella & I love dogs! For full disclosure, I adopted a pup named Winnie - she is a big lovable goof with a sweet personality, who loves to play, and equally loves to chill and sleep. She gets along well with other dogs, so long as they don't exhibit aggressive behavior toward her. If I am considered for a house sitting job (or any other service), Winnie would not be joining me unless otherwise discussed. Right now I have open availability for house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits! I love all breeds, large and small alike. Each dog has their own personality and I adjust my service based on what your dog needs. Cuddles, play time, belly rubs or space? Whatever works for me! I provide the best care and will give your dog all the love and attention he or she wants. I have much experience dog sitting/walking - 20 years! I have experience caring for both puppies and senior dogs (and everywhere in between) - administering medicine is no problem. I look forward to meeting your best friend(s). (: I take my dog on walks 2-3x per day, or replace one of these walks with a trip to the dog park (if it's nice outside!). I can only dog sit at your home as my dog is an ESA and the only dog allowed on my property. When dropping in or house-sitting, I love to take dogs to the park, on trails, or just a walk around the neighborhood! I adjust my care giving based on what you/your dog prefer - if you'd rather me play fetch or tug-of-war in home rather than going outside, that's perfectly fine too! I will let your dog outside to go to the bathroom as needed but I know every dogs abilities and preferences are different.

About: I am a student at OSU. I am majoring in animal science. I am a pre-vet student with a focus in animal behavior. I also volunteer at the animal shelter frequently and have received training in animal handling and dog-walking. I am a student with a flexible schedule and am free weekends and weekdays depending on the time. I am always free in the evenings. Just let me know! I am a detail oriented person. I also love to provide enrichment for pets to get their brains going and help with boredom.
About: I'm a quiet, mature professional who works from clients' homes during the day and loves spending quiet evenings with pets. I'm an especially good fit for animals who are used to lots of companionship, including those with retired or remote-working families. I prioritize prompt communication, regular photo updates, and a smooth, stress-free experience from booking through the end of your stay. I'm a non-smoker, don't drink, and take pride in leaving your home as clean—or cleaner—than I found it. I have seven years of experience with large dogs (including handling them on walks) and 2½ years of professional pet sitting experience with dogs, cats, and other animals. I've cared for pets with mobility challenges, leash reactivity, separation anxiety, chronic health conditions, and I especially enjoy caring for senior pets. For walks and drop-in visits, I offer a 15–20 minute video meet-and-greet before your first booking. I'm also happy to answer any questions by message! I work remotely and have flexibility for morning and evening walks, as well as daytime cuddles and play breaks. I coordinate with clients to ensure pet care is continuous, even if a return flight is delayed. I gather as much information as possible about an animal's routine, preferences, play styles or favorite games, and emotional and physical needs. I keep my client updated with photos and messages about their animal at the frequency they prefer, so they feel comfortable and confident that their animal is safe and happy.

About: Hi! My name is Charlotte. I’ve spent years looking after neighbors’ dogs and cats, and caring for pets has honestly always been something I naturally gravitated toward. I have experience with all kinds of dogs — young puppies, senior dogs, huge breeds, tiny breeds, high-energy dogs, shy dogs, trained dogs, and dogs that still need a little patience and structure. I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities, routines, and needs because I understand every pet is different. I also love volunteering at my local humane shelter, which has given me even more hands-on experience working with a wide variety of dogs and temperaments. It’s something I genuinely enjoy because I love getting to know animals and making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, cuddles, medication, patience, or just someone reliable to keep them company, I’m happy to help. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I always try to provide the same level of care and attention I’d want for my own animals. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals, and I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets while you’re away! My schedule is very flexible, especially outside of classes since school is my main priority as an almost second-year student at Oregon State. I have reliable transportation, so I’m able to travel easily for drop-ins, walks, overnight stays, and pet care throughout the week. I care for pets and clients’ homes with a lot of respect, responsibility, and attention to detail. I always clean up after myself, follow instructions carefully, and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I believe mutual trust and respect are extremely important when caring for someone’s home and animals.
About: I've taken care of pets basically my whole life, especially cats, and I've also had a dog for a couple years. I'm always the first person my friends and family call when they need help with their pets. I stay well read on what's good for animals, from training to helping with anxiety, and I'm always willing to go the extra mile to make sure a pet is happy. They're living creatures who deserve just as much happiness as we do. In terms of training, I've helped a cat retrain to use the litter box after it regressed due to anxiety, working through the root cause rather than just the behavior itself. I've also reduced aggression in animals through consistent training. I'm willing to stick with things for a long time and stay consistent, especially when it's for the betterment of the animal. My life is quite flexible, so pet care fits easily into my routine. I prefer jobs where I'm able to stay in charge of how the work gets done, since that's when I feel like I can give my best contribution. That flexibility means I can adjust to a pet's needs rather than squeezing them into a rigid schedule. When I'm caring for a pet in their own environment, I make sure to respect their space and routine completely, from where they're allowed to go to how they're used to being handled. I pay close attention to safety details like doors, gates, and anything that could be harmful to them, and I adapt to whatever setup the home already has in place.
About: I am a vet/tech assistant and going to school to be a veterinarian. I can take care of puppy/kitten, senior, disability, post surgery care and anything else your fur baby throws at me. I've taken care of dogs, cats, rodents, Avaian and reptiles a like. I'm currently working full time and going to school so my schedule does change from term to term but I'm very flexible and willing to work with you I have worked in a vet clinic and volunteered at the humane society for over 3 years. I can crate, give meds of any kind, do after surgery care, and take special care of disabilitys
Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Noon
Allison did a great job with the twice-daily drop-in visits for my cat, while I was away for four days. She followed the instructions I left and sent texts at the start and end of each visit. She also sent photos for every drop-in and replied to my texts promptly. She was reliable, consistent and trustworthy. I felt comfortable with her on my home and caring for my cat, and I’ll hire her for my next trip without hesitation.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
