Jamie can care for
Availability
Prior to booking, I like to schedule meet and greets so we can make sure we’re all on the same page! During the school year, I'm a full-time veterinary student, so that comes with a full day of classes Monday to Friday. However, I will be able to stop by in the mornings, between classes during lunch and/or throughout the day, and also in the evenings to help take care of your little one. I am happy to work something out with pet parents! I'm also available most weekends to dedicate more time into care!

Safety, trust & environment
Being a pet parent myself and having worked in the vet field, I'm careful about anything hazardous that can hurt our pets and I also know vet bills are not cheap. With that being said, I am always extra cautious about leaving anything out that could be toxic and dangerous. I always like to baby proof my environments and am always always cautious about open doors.
Information Jamie T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any health issues and/or behavioral quirks. For example, if they’re allergic to certain things or if they don't like certain body parts/toys touched. Please also let me know if there are any cameras on your property and inside the home. I 100% understand having a peace of mind in your home, but I have a strict no tolerance policy, and any undisclosed cameras will result in immediate cancellation of the booking and reporting to Rover.
A typical day
My love language is food, so expect lots of treats (only if allowed, of course!). I also like to integrate playtime into my care, so that looks like going on walks throughout the day and playing with fun toys! I love to bond with all the babies I take care of and on their terms.

Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm from Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State in 2023 with my Bachelor's in Biology and moved here to OSU to start vet school! I'm a current 3rd year vet student, prior to which I worked as a vet assistant for over 4 years working with dogs and cats. I’m a fear-free certified veterinary professional and certified cat-friendly veterinarian. On the side, I also dog sat for friends and family. In Arizona, I had a wide range of cool experiences with all sorts of animals from small, scaly friends to large, furry ones! I worked with zoo animals, rehabbed baby birds at a wildlife center, and took care of surrendered exotic pets at our local SPCA. During Covid, I fostered one of the hedgehogs from the SPCA and I absolutely fell in love with them. From there, I developed an interest in exotics and went on to volunteer/shadow at an exotic clinic. I moved here to start vet school with my calico kitty, Chai, who I adopted at the beginning of my vet med journey. I understand how nerve wracking it can be to find the perfect caretaker for your baby. I am also very familiar with the anxiety when you're away from them. That's why I'm more than happy to work with you to provide the best care for your little loved one!

Reviews

Jamie was so awesome. Our cat has chronic asthma and needs an inhaler twice a day, which makes it hard to travel. She was super accommodating with her schedule when our flights were changed. Our cat did have an asthma attack when she was checking up on him at one point, and she stopped back a few hours later just to check on him and make sure he was ok. Totally not necessary but so nice of her to do. She was also very communicative, letting me know how he was doing everyday and sent me lots of pictures. I would definitely have Jamie back again!

Jamie has pet sat for us before but we had her take care of just our cat while we were away for Thanksgiving! Walter got all of the treats, pets, and chatted away with Jamie and she took amazing care of him. Can’t wait to have her back for future visits!!

Jamie is wonderful! Our (somewhat shy) cats love her! Jamie is a great communicator and is highly reliable. I trust her fully with the health of our pets and our home. We will hire Jamie for future visits without hesitation.

Jamie did a great job looking after my 2 cats while I was gone. She sent detailed updates with lots of pictures. I will definitely book with her again
