“Denise and Brett were fantastic! They looked after our two dogs, who both have no shortage of quirks and personality. They are very knowledgeable about dogs, incredibly patient and understanding, and are very responsive and thorough communicators. We would fully recommend their services!”

“Anne provided great day care for my dog Rusty. She sent me pictures during the day and gave me a full report when I picked him up. Rusty seemed like he had a full day when I picked him up. He was happy, so we were happy. Thanks, Anne!”

“So grateful for Ray and Randy! They were able to take our Ollie for a few hours today so that we could enjoy Easter dinner with at my very allergic brother's house. About: I've grown up with pets in my home all my life, (until very recently) have always had at least a dog in the family. I have experience with many different breeds ranging from large pit bulls to tiny terriers. I have experience with different stages of life ranging from newborn puppies to deaf and blind elderly dogs. Our whole family has an intense love of animals and nature. I also have experience with house sitting for cats, birds and guinea pigs as well. I have open availability and ability to be flexible with my schedule in regard to drop-ins, walks or boarding. I have a large yard that is not fenced in but have plenty of space to have safe leashed walks along with areas to play. Please feel free to message me with any questions. I have open availability during the week as well as weekends and overnight. I am available to keep your pet at my home as well as reliably come to your home for walks and care. I currently have no other pets in the home. I have multiple dog beds and also a medium size crate on hand along with plenty of dog toys and treats.
“Corrina does a wonderful job with Teddy! He is high energy and has separation anxiety but she is able to settle him down and has him sitting on her lap and calm upon return. She is a very nice person and has a comfortable way. Her pet Romey is a very calm loving dog who takes Teddy in stride. We highly recommend Corinna as a sitter in her home.”
About: Hi! I’m Marianna, a lifelong animal lover offering drop-in visits, boarding, and overnight stays for both dogs and cats. Animals are truly part of my family. I share my home with my amazing Golden Lab, Phoebe, who is incredibly well-behaved, gentle, and adventurous — she goes paddle boarding, loves the water, and is even a diver! Phoebe is a Theraphy dog . She is a calm, confident, and friendly role model for other dogs. We also have two wonderful cats: Pharaoh (Abyssinian) and Phoenix (Scottish Fold). They are very social, affectionate, and used to being around dogs, so our home is a peaceful, happy, and interactive environment for all pets. I’m certified in Pet First Aid & CPR for both cats and dogs, so your pet’s safety is always a top priority. In addition to loving care, I also offer support with behavioral training and confidence building. I’ve personally trained my own 2.5-year-old pup to a very high level of obedience, and I enjoy helping other dogs feel calm, safe, and well-mannered. Our home features a fenced yard, a swimming pool (with supervision), and plenty of space to play, rest, and relax in a loving, low-stress environment. Whether your pet loves to cuddle, play, swim, or simply nap in the sun, they will feel right at home here. I treat every animal as if they were my own — with patience, kindness, and respect. I would be honored to care for your furry family while you’re away 🐶🐱💛 Ps . For safety, any signs of prey drive toward cats (staring, lunging, chasing) will result in immediate separation or early pick-up. That’s why Meet and Greet is a MUST for me. I keep a flexible schedule so your pet receives calm, unhurried attention, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, daycare, and drop-ins on both weekdays and weekends, and I intentionally limit how many pets I take (1-2 great pets at a time ONLY) to ensure each one feels safe, relaxed, and truly cared for. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment in my home with a fenced yard for supervised outdoor play. Dogs are always monitored, kept on routine, and can be crated if needed. I follow owner instructions closely, prioritize cleanliness, and make sure every pet feels comfortable, secure, and cared for like family.
“I had a great experience with this sitter! They took such good care of my puppy Bear, and I could tell he was comfortable and well looked after the entire time. Bear is still young and full of energy, but they were very patient, attentive, and made sure he got plenty of care and attention. They also kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. When I picked Bear up, he was happy and relaxed, which showed me he had a great time. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. I will definitely be booking with them again for Bear! 🐾”

“Everything went smoothly with doggie daycare with Erin. She considerately slowly introduced Pepper to her furry friends and helped him acclimate. She also sent message updates and pictures through his stay. Definitely will book with her again!!”

“Julia was phenomenal ! Both Scottie and Ollie had a great time ! Julia kept me posted with sending me lovely pictures of my fur babies. CJ her dog was also a really good dog. Thank you for taking care of them! We will definitely see you again and we recommend Julia 100%.”

“Carol and Butch were amazing, and such a perfect match for our little Squirt. This was my first time using Rover, and they made it such a great experience. They took such great care of my little man and put my mind at ease with pupdates. Hope they’ll be available for us next year! Thank you so so much, Carol and Butch!”

The best part is that my dog was more vibrant and playful after two days with them. They were keen to follow instructions and just be a loving presence for Zushi. That’s what we needed most! About: I’ve had pets since I was a young girl. There was always a dog and cats in the house, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I recently lost my dog to old age, and I really miss that daily companionship, which is why I’d love to help care for other people’s pets. I’ve pet sat for friends, family, and neighbors over the years, and now I’m ready to open that up to more families. I’m comfortable with both dogs and cats, and I have two cats of my own. I’m patient, attentive, and I treat every pet like they’re my own—making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable and easy to communicate with, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I’m home most of the day, so I have a flexible schedule and can give your pet plenty of attention and care. I do have two kids, so with a little advance notice I’m happy to plan ahead and make sure I’m fully available for your pet’s needs. I’m an active person and enjoy going on walks, so dogs will get plenty of movement and time outside. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and sitting during the week and weekends, and I can adjust to your pet’s routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. I have a fenced backyard, and pets are always supervised when they’re outside. Most of the day they’ll be with me, so they’re not left alone for long. I handle all feeding, walks, and care myself to keep things consistent and done right. I have two cats that are indoor and outdoor. They’re friendly and used to being around other animals, but they mostly keep to themselves and won’t bother your pet. My home is calm, clean, and safe. My kids are gentle and love animals, and I always make sure interactions are respectful and supervised. I treat every pet like my own and do my best to make them feel comfortable and at home while you’re away.

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life so I have a lot of experience caring for them. They become my family and I love them dearly. I treat them better than most people treat their children. I would do anything for them, and I would treat any other pet the exact same way, as if they were my own. I live in a house with a fenced in backyard, great for running and playing. I live in a safe neighborhood with large sidewalks that are great for afternoon walks. I have a standard poodle and a mini-poodle who love to run and play together, they would make your pet feel welcomed and right at home. I also have two cats that are very friendly and loves the dogs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I plan my schedule around visits, ensuring, consistent, reliable care, timely walks, feedings, and regular updates. I follow each pets routine closely, including feeding, walks, medications, and playtime. I maintain a clean, safe environment and provide regular updates for peace of mind.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Nokomis
Denise and Brett were wonderful with Winnie! I scheduled a day of daycare prior to a boarding booking we have next week, just to get Winnie comfortable. We walked in and they had setup a dog bed, toys, treats etc. Winnie is an anxious girl and it takes her time to warm up, however, within 5 minutes of leaving, I received a photo of her on her back getting belly scratches :) she’s looking forward to her stay 4th of July weekend!

If I could give Morgan a 10 star rating I would, because she not only was available at the last minute but she took so much care for Georgie! She took him for walks and even though he is deaf and very vocal with toys, she made his time with her so enjoyable. Thank you again for taking care of our furbaby.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Nokomis commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
