Angela, Michael, and their kids were amazing! I had reached out about them watching my dog on Thanksgiving last minute due to last minute plans, and they were lifesavers. They were incredibly flexible, and watched her from the early morning until late night. They sent lots of pictures and updates and my dog seemed to settle in really well and enjoyed herself. They also were really responsive and I never had to wait long for a message or response. She can be a nervous dog but Angela and Michael made sure she felt comfortable and I know that she was in good hands. Overall, a really trustworthy family to watch your dog - will be booking them again if needed and will be recommending them to my friends. Thanks guys!

What an operation she's got! She had meatball for about 6 hours and WORE. HER. OUT!!!! I can only imaging how much she played and how great a time she had. Meatball and I have more than a little separation anxiety for one another, so I don't like leaving her with just anyone. I will happily run back to Roseanna. Thank you, Roseanna. You made a terrible day, tolerable.

I had 2 other pet sitters cancel on me before I found Kathleen. She was a lifesaver. She was willing to watch Gia and Ghira with little notice. She was so easy to communicate with. She sent me multiple pictures during their time at her house. I would highly recommend Kathleen. She was awesome!

My dog loves this sitter! The second time I took him for pet sitting he was so excited that he didn’t noticed me leave, even though with most sitters he whines a lot when he is dropped off. Our puppy has LOVED being watched by their family. We will continue to use them whenever we need someone to watch Wookiee.

About: I've adopted many dogs, but started pet sitting for my much needed "fix" when my kids left the nest and couldn't help if i got another dog while I worked. I have dog sat at other people's house, at my house and do love senior dogs as much as young ones. I'm now retired and want to love on dogs. I just retired so i'm quite flexible. I love walking in general, and would enjoy the company of a pooch or 2. I'm good for just the day, overnight or extended needs. I always considered my own dogs as being family members. That said, they are allowed on the furniture. I have a small fenced back yard if your pooch doesn't want to walk in the rain or needs a late evening potty break. During the daytime, I like to walk a lot so your place or mine to give your dog's legs a stretch. I always have dogs on leash, no free running dogs are allowed in my development. I do belong to the Lower Makefield dog park if you are local and want to add me to your account to bring your dog there.

About: I promise to treat your fur babies like my own! I love animals and I am happy to take care of yours while you’re away. I definitely LOVE cats and I prefer smaller dogs. I have worked with animals for a very long time and have experience with larger dogs (and ones that may not have perfect behavior!) I think it’ll depend on the dog when we meet to see if it’s a good fit! I have a flexible schedule as I am in graduate school and working at a yoga studio. I can pop in and out whenever you need. I am willing to go to your house or have your pet stay with us. We have two loving cats who often are visited by a dog we sit. We can also separate them if it is needed and have the dog on the lower level and the cats on the higher level. We can accommodate for you.

About: I grew up with two dogs (a German Shepherd and a Bichon Frise). They were the sweetest boys to ever exist!! I do not currently have any pets because I don’t think I could handle the loss. But, I have been pet sitting other people’s pets for over 5 years outside of rover. I have pet sit both cats and dogs :) I’m currently working full time remotely. So I have lots of time to spend with your pets! I do travel for work so there may be some weeks that I will not be available but that will all be noted on my calendar. I have a fenced in yard. Pets in our house are allowed inside and on furniture. If you request it I will crate your dog. I have a little sister who is 10 and she loves animals just as much as I do and respects their space but I do require all pets I take care of to be kid friendly.

About: I have taken care of dogs for the last five years. I am reliable, dependable and love animals more than anything! They deserve to have just as much fun while their owners are away. Buddy gets 2 walks in the morning before I leave for work. I work about 15 minutes away from home. I use my lunch break to come home and walk Buddy from 1230-1p every day. Then I am home for the night by 430, which we then spend the night to go on a nice long walk after dinner. Fresh water bowls, fresh meals, treats (if owner approves), lots of fetch, chase around the house and dog snuggles. They will get at least 5 walks a day (rain or shine).

About: I don't just "watch" pets. I create a fun, enriching environment tailored to their personalities. Whether it's long walks, play sessions, training reinforcement, or calm snuggle time, I make sure your pet gets the activity, attention, and engagement they deserve. I quickly pick up on each animal's unique cues and needs, and my goal is always to reduce stress, encourage confidence, and keep them happy until you're home. I currently am a stay-at-home dad so I uniquely have the time and attention needed to focus on your best friend. I am home consistently, which means your pet gets reliable attention, frequent check-ins, and a calm, stable environment. My daily routine already ibcludes structured time for outdoor activities, neighborhood walks, and play-perfect opportunities to keep pets active, mentally stimulated, and on a predictable schedule. When pets stay in my home, they're treated like a part of the family. I provide a calm, safe, and comfortable environment with plenty of attention throughout the day. I have a fenced in yard which is perfect for outdoor play. I stick closely to each pet's usual routine - feeding times, walks, play, potty breaks, and any special instructions - so they feel safe, secure, and settled.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Newtown on Rover is $26.75 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,468 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Newtown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Newtown commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,468 sitters in Newtown, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
