“Ella was amazing. She took my booking last minute and responded quickly. Ella showed up on time and seemed eager to meet our boys. You can tell Ella genuinely loves animals. Ella made us feel comfortable leaving the boys behind in her care. We came home to happy kids and the house just the way we left it. Ella kept in contact during her stay and sent us pictures and updates often. I would definitely book Ella again! Highly recommended!”

About: I have my own dog at home and I am always asked to take care of my grandparents dog everytime they're away. I love dogs and always want them to be comfortable in my care. I currently work part time at a custodial company and I babysit at night as well. My work schedule is very flexible, it is a four hour shift and I have time in between then to have a pet care job. I always make sure they have water and food when they need to. I love taking my dog on walks and making sure to take him on bathroom breaks when he needs to. I also make sure to give my cat space when I need to but also play with her when she wants to.
“Polly was absolutely fantastic. She sent us photos and notes everyday which really helped our anxiety leaving him. When we came home we new right away that Chester loved her. She played with him, gave him his medicine, and even bought him a few toys. Exceptional care. This is the first time we used Rover and wish I had found out about it before! We hate leaving him behind when we travel, but knowing that we now have Polly to rely on, it makes is so much better. My only concern is now everyone will want to book her and then she is not available for us. We could not have asked for better care for our gentle giant.”

“Nancy was very thorough with communication (including photos and videos). It was great to know that our dog was comfortable and enjoying her time with Nancy while we were away! Nancy took care with our home and when we returned, everything was as we left it. We would highly recommend Nancy as a house/pet sitter!”

“Sammie was great! She arrived on time- stayed a little later too. Remy seemed happy and tired from a good night! This was our first Rover experience and we’re very pleased it went so well!”

About: I’ve cared for, trained, and loved animals for 40+ years and would be happy to care for yours while you are away. I know how important check ins are so you can be sure your fur baby is well & happy! I work from home most days so my schedule is flexible and allows me to be home with your fur baby! My home is comfortable and pet friendly and if they are sun seekers I have a great deck for them to lounge on. I have a fenced in back yard with room to roam and live in a safe cul-de-sac neighborhood perfect for dog walking! Couches are not off limits in my house 😊
About: I have grown up with animals my whole life! I absolutely love teaching them tricks, playtime and daily exercise. Quality care to keep happy pets! I have ton of free time to check up and play with your furry companions! I pick up what I can when I’m not working! :) I work hard to make sure your pets comfort and care comes first. Prioritizing their safety while having fun! And always treating pets like family!
About: Hi! I'm Sami, and I am THRILLED to meet your loved one. ME AS A SITTER: My number one priority while caring for your loved one is their comfort. I believe having patience and allowing your pet to make the first move is important when first establishing a routine or any sort of bond. Anything you or your loved one needs for our time together, I'm there for it all! I have always had a passion for animals and find it an absolute blessing to spend time with any and all. WHAT I CAN DO: I am comfortable with pets of all shapes, sizes, and energy levels. This includes pets that need medication, special dietary restrictions, or even pets that don't like to be too close but just need a little company- I'm just happy to meet your pet no matter what they need! MY PET BACKGROUND: I have experience housesitting with dogs/cats for up to a week. In this time, I maintained the house, watered plants, fed both cats and dogs, took care of trash and mail, etc. My family has had up to 8 dogs at once, ranging from puppy to senior. Now, we currently have 3 dogs and even a pet rabbit. I found a passion for training pets/encouraging good behavior, which led me to teach my pup tricks like roll over, bang bang, dance, etc., and we both loved every minute! We also took in a stray feral cat (was stuck in a car hood, long story), and for the past few months I have successfully worked hard to make a connection and bond with her! I do also help care for the cat in my home in Indiana. I have given pets medication many times, including wound care, vet visits, and special feeding instructions. I currently work part-time at a restaurant, with my shift typically starting at 3pm. My schedule does tend to shift around, but on days I do work, I am flexible with when I can watch your loved one and am willing to visit as much as possible before and after work. However, when I'm not working, I am more than happy to spend as much time with your pet as possible/wanted. While in your home, I will be around your pet 24/7, making sure they are safe and comfortable. I love playing with pets but can also enforce rules and regulations set up for your pet with ease. I can handle crating, leashing, feeding, picking up messes, and more. If housesitting, I am happy to assist in pickup and general house upkeep, including trash night, collecting mail, dusting, etc.
About: I live in a quiet, safe neighborhood and enjoy a peaceful home environment. I work, stay active in my church, and love winding down with a good book or movie. I’m down-to-earth and will treat your dog like family. My daughter, who’s now abroad, used to dog sit and encouraged me to try it myself—knowing how much I love dogs, even though I’m not ready to have one full-time. I often helped her with dog sitting before she left, and truly enjoyed the companionship. It would be a blessing to care for your pet and offer you peace of mind. I’m flexible, reliable, and would have a great time making sure your dog feels safe and loved. I work hybrid, which means your pet will have plenty of attention, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. I love taking regular breaks to go on walks, give belly rubs, or just relax with a furry friend nearby. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate feeding routines, bathroom breaks, and any special care your pet may need. I live in a quiet, pet-friendly apartment with plenty of space for your dog to relax comfortably. While I don’t have a backyard, I take regular walks in safe, green areas nearby and always supervise outdoor time. I follow your care instructions closely, including feeding, medications, and routines, and I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos. Whether in my home or yours, I provide calm, attentive care to help your pet feel secure and loved.

I can easily help throughout all hours of the workday and over the weekend! ❤️ thank u for trusting me and letting me get in some fur baby love❤️ I do also have experience with elderly dogs (seizures, blind, deaf, falling, comfort, etc), as well as raised my own Pom from when he was a puppy. I work from home so I can easily help throughout all hours of the day, over the weekend, or any evening! Just let me know, ❤️ thank u so much I have experience as a dog owner as well as countless weekends cat-sitting! Going for walks, playing, feeding, check-ups. Anything you’d like done and can provide photos and feedback consistently!
About: Hamsters, fish, lizards, dogs, rabbits, and cats ill care for just about anything and also have experience on my own in half of them! I do best if there are supplemental instructions and having a way to still communicate if I ever bump into an issue. I am not sure what my work schedule looks like yet but I can always work around and make sure I’m providing the pet care needed. I have a dog and two rabbits both indoor. I will probably have to bring dogs out on a leash since the yard isn’t gated.
About: Hi! I'm a recent Hope graduate & Assistant Manager of the Holland Cat Cove. Offering discounted rates as I begin this partnership with Rover! I am happy to care for any pet. Whether your pup is anxious, an escape artist, or the chillest ever, my standard of care will have them feeling right at home and loved like family. I tailor my approach to each pet's unique personality making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. Staying calm in any situation is my superpower, so rest assured I'll always be at the top of my game. I love to make a genuine connection with every pet and owner I meet--so let's chat! My schedule allows enough flexibility to meet all of your needs! I can dedicate all the time needed to take care of your pets. Reach out and let's make something work. I always remain attentful of pets individual needs to make sure they're safe, comfortable, and happy. I've known some slippery dogs in my time; open doors or loose collars provide opportunity for escape, but I will always take safeguards to prevent such incidents. I won't take chances with your pets. Please let me know if you have any specific concerns with your pet's wellbeing while you're away. I want you to rest easy and feel reassured that your pet is receiving the highest level of care.
About: *TEMPORARY PAUSE ON BOARDING & DAYCARE* I am now offering drop in visits and sitting in your home as an alternative option 😊 Hello! If you are in search of someone with a vast knowledge, has experience with all breeds/sizes, and the highest quality of care, look no further! My knowledge extends from health, diet, exercise, enrichment activities, light grooming, and training for your dog. My experience consists of: 7 years of dog handling and care of all different breeds/sizes Knowing dogs 101/201 on dog behaviorial courses Pack pro dog training courses on dog language and group management Leerburg training courses Previous employment at 3 dog facilities as a trainer, kennel lead, assistant, and 1 facility as a vet tech. Previous assistant for puppy kindergarten classes The Ultimate Canine Communication Master Class TWC-The Cornerstone Collection Seminars to continue education We live in rural Hudsonville on a dirt road. It's quiet with lots of nature. There's a fenced in yard with ease of access from the slider door. We plan to buy the property from family that we currently live with. There's two acres out back we plan to fence in for the pups who love to run. I do this full time so I'm very flexible and attentive towards every individual pup and allows for balanced play. Each dog that I take in is based off the dogs I will have in house at the time. So the capacity varies but typically stays around 3-6 pups on average. Dogs often learn bad behaviors from one another and make up their own rules during play. I take a different approach to this. I'm careful about which personalities I place together to bring out the best in every dog during play sessions and advocate for the ones who are more of a wallflower. *IMPORTANT IMFORMATION* I only take in puppies that are up to date on their first year of vaccines. This includes: Bordetella Distemper Rabies Negative fecal check (I do accept titer tests for +1 year old pups) 🐕🦺 TRAINING: Some of the behaviors I work on include: resource guarding, jumping, leash pulling, fear related sensory stimuli, hyperactivity, barking, proper dog play/interactions, chasing fast moving objects/high prey drive...etc. I'm more than willing to go over any more information on what I offer if interested. They are supervised throughout the day. If your pup is in my care, I treat them as they are my own. The care I offer is much more than just watching your fur baby. I pay close attention to behavior, eating habits, coat maintenance, anxiety, health etc. I typically feed in crates, so they can eat without being bothered. I let them rest for up to an hour, (especially large breeds) after each meal as a precautionary measure to avoid bloat. I send updates with pictures and videos when watching your pup, so you can see what they have been up to. I have plenty of crates of all sizes, so no need to bring any from home. If they aren't crate trained at night, that's not a problem. I do allow dogs to free roam at night as long as they aren't destructive and I can trust them on their own. I have vet grade cleaner on hand for toys, water dishes and disinfecting. I take health extremely serious, so I have a vast amount of first aid supplies, cones, pharmaciticals and ID on hand. If you have any other concerns or needs I'm more than happy to address those as well.
About: 10 years dog owner and lifetime cat owner. Very patient and caring with animals. Good at following instructions if special care is needed. Not scared of large dogs. I work part time from home so my schedule is pretty flexible when it comes to pet sitting walks or what ever the job requires. I have two large dogs Rottweiler and Pitt Rottweiler mix and three cats. Dogs are cat friendly. Large yard and crate is available upon request if needed.

About: I have 5 dogs of my own, ranging from a cattle dog to a pitbull.I have no problem taking care of any type of animal and I have experience in all fields of care, including bathing, walking, nail-trimming, and more. I’m free from 6am-11pm on weekdays! I do work full-time but my boss is lenient and he’d have no problem with me tending to your furry friends! I personally have 5 dogs in a non-fenced in yard but they are all very well trained. I would prefer to keep your animals in the comfort of their own home though due to my dogs being very playful, if your dogs are comfortable being in a high-energy setting it would be no problem but they don’t need added stress from my rowdy bunch.

FAQs for House Sitting - New Richmond
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 510 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across New Richmond. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Richmond walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Richmond maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Richmond choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New Richmond. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
