“Spencer did a great job. We appreciated the photos and communication. And very importantly, he didn’t just house sit our dog. He engaged with Bernadette and spent quality time with her.”

“Sammie was great! She arrived on time- stayed a little later too. Remy seemed happy and tired from a good night! This was our first Rover experience and we’re very pleased it went so well!”

“We are very glad we were able to find Madison so last minute. We were worried about introducing our reactive dog to someone new, but our dogs instantly connected with her!”

“Kate is fabulous…..she quickly felt like family and was easy with our Puli boys. While they were not on their best behavior while we were gone for a week she was a star in their care. Also ….. our home had careful care…plants were watered, mail was picked up and all was in order when we returned. We highly recommend Kate without hesitation!”

“Skyler was great! My cat has medication and Skyler was able to care for her wonderfully with no issues. They left my home in the same order they found it in. Very communicative!”

“Mikayla took such great care of Athena and Enzo while we were away. It was obvious they were well loved and got plenty of playtime 😃. She sent lots of pictures and videos throughout our trip, which made being away from them so much easier. She was easy to communicate with, always kept us updated, and went above and beyond by feeding our fish and even checking on our butterflies. We came home to happy dogs and a home that was just as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We’re so thankful we found Mikayla and will absolutely use her again. Highly recommend!”

“Ella was amazing. She took my booking last minute and responded quickly. Ella showed up on time and seemed eager to meet our boys. You can tell Ella genuinely loves animals. Ella made us feel comfortable leaving the boys behind in her care. We came home to happy kids and the house just the way we left it. Ella kept in contact during her stay and sent us pictures and updates often. I would definitely book Ella again! Highly recommended!”

“Brandi did a wonderful job house sitting. Our girls were well cared for, the house looked great when we got home, and she was happy to help out. We will look to have her back for our next trip!”

About: I live in a quiet, safe neighborhood and enjoy a peaceful home environment. I work, stay active in my church, and love winding down with a good book or movie. I’m down-to-earth and will treat your dog like family. My daughter, who’s now abroad, used to dog sit and encouraged me to try it myself—knowing how much I love dogs, even though I’m not ready to have one full-time. I often helped her with dog sitting before she left, and truly enjoyed the companionship. It would be a blessing to care for your pet and offer you peace of mind. I’m flexible, reliable, and would have a great time making sure your dog feels safe and loved. I work hybrid, which means your pet will have plenty of attention, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. I love taking regular breaks to go on walks, give belly rubs, or just relax with a furry friend nearby. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate feeding routines, bathroom breaks, and any special care your pet may need. I live in a quiet, pet-friendly apartment with plenty of space for your dog to relax comfortably. While I don’t have a backyard, I take regular walks in safe, green areas nearby and always supervise outdoor time. I follow your care instructions closely, including feeding, medications, and routines, and I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos. Whether in my home or yours, I provide calm, attentive care to help your pet feel secure and loved.
“Amanda provided good communication, asked good questions, and really paid attention to the details regarding our pet’s specific care. Amanda did a good job helping our pet stick to her regular daily routine while we were away. We are grateful!”

“Sam worked really well with my two large dogs (even though they both can be barkers) and even made friends with my cats. She also handled some unexpected hiccups at our house with grace, and I really appreciated that.”
About: I can work with dogs that have anxiety and aggressive. And cats too and any other animals. As I love animals of any size big or small Saturday-Sunday I can do anytime Monday-Friday after 2:30pm unless I'm staying in the house sitting and petsitting. Then time doesn't really matter as much then. Environment would be your home as I rent and they don't allow petsitting. Depends if yard is fence area if it is then I will play ball with them.

Provided all types of care such as, walking, feeding, bathing, playing, and sitting. My schedule is very flexible so I have lots of availability. Morning drop offs and pick ups are great but can adjust as needed. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions. I have a spacious yard and only one small dog who gets along well with other dogs. About: I’ve taken care of many different fury friends since I was a kid. I have currently have a dog of my own, but enjoy quality time with all animals:) I just graduated PA school and have not found a job yet, so I’m looking to make extra money. I have pretty open availability during the week. I love all animals! I respect all homes and make sure to leave everything better than I found it! I appreciate any tips/tricks to give your animal the best experience possible.
“Heather was very accommodating with a last minute request for a dog sitter while I was out of town. I fully disclosed that my dog had attacked an unknown dog in a shared yard that she considers her own. The previous dog sitter was rattled and asked if I could find someone else to finish the sit while I was still out of town. It was already such a stressful experience. I was glad she saved the day.”

About: Hi! I’m Natalie, a pre-veterinary student at Hope College with a passion for providing safe, loving, and reliable care for your pets. I have experience working in multiple veterinary offices and have spent years pet sitting dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. My background has given me experience understanding animal behavior, recognizing individual needs, and providing attentive care for every pet I work with. I am comfortable caring for puppies, seniors, large and small breeds, and pets with specific routines or medical needs. I also have experience administering medications and making sure pets receive the attention and care they need while their owners are away. My goal is to make your pets feel comfortable, happy, and loved while giving you peace of mind. I love sending updates and photos so you can feel connected while you’re away! I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pets. Feel free to reach out with any questions!! I currently have a full time serving job and am a student so this is something that I do on the side! I am still pretty available and can cater to the needs of my clients. Since I do live with roommates I prefer to go to my clients houses instead of bringing them to my house! I can accommodate pretty easily though if needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 867 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fillmore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fillmore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fillmore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fillmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fillmore. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
