Atlas, Molly and Triton enjoyed their time with Tina. We were away for a week and she did overnight stays with drop ins during the day. They did great with her and were happy and healthy when we got home. They get stressed in a kennel and were so much better with Tina. She also cleaned up the house which made returning home less stressful. The pups and I were super happy with Tina taking care of them! Triton gave her huge hugs when seeing her again so that was a great review from them!

Dylan with the help of Sophie were so great with our dogs while we were away! They were exhausted when we got home so we know they played hard. We appreciate their help and the excellent care they provided for our boys.

Wonderful pet sitter. She was on time, communicated throughout the whole stay and sent pictures. She even paid attention to how much my dog was eating and made sure that was normal (he doesn't eat much typically). The dogs and cats seemed to enjoy having her stay and the pictures she sent showed them getting lots of love.

Rachel stayed with my pups for five days, and happened to be available at the last minute, which was a huge help. She was timely, communicative, and my dogs took to her right away. I felt very comfortable leaving the dogs in her care. She was responsive, sent super cute pics of the dogs and gave them their meds as instructed. She was even willing to help me get one of the dogs’ meds refilled. Overall, she was a pleasure to work with, and I felt very confident in her capabilities.

We booked Michaela for house sitting and pet sitting for our two senior dogs. One of our dogs requires medication twice a day and has mobility issues due to advanced arthritis. Our other dog has a reserved personality and can be very difficult with new "humans". Michaela was WONDERFUL! She took time and care to make sure our "difficult child" was comfortable with her, she is the "dog whisperer", he did warm up to her and we even got a picture of him snuggling with her while we were away. She also took special care with our dog with medical needs and made sure we knew he had had his medication as scheduled. Her communication was great, letting us know how the day was going etc.! We felt completely at ease with her care! 10 stars!!!

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with Border Collies and have also adopted several dogs over the years, so I'm comfortable with everything from high-energy working breeds to laid-back companions. I've also volunteered at several shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, temperaments, and backgrounds. I work from home (as does my wife) so your pet will be getting consistent, attentive care. To be honest, our dog passed away last fall and we are missing the joy of being dog owners and having dogs around, but we need something a little more flexible for the time being. You are getting two sitters for the price of one and we will care for your dog as if they were our own :) As a former dog parent who has used Rover, my goal is to provide exactly what I was looking for each time I booked a walker/sitter: clear communication, limited hassle, and all of the assurances that you can rest easy and not worry...your doggo is in good hands! I work from home and call my own hours (as does my wife) so as long as we know your dog's routine we will make sure to incorporate it into our own. We have a fenced-in yard and a walking path near our home so walks are never a problem (we love walks). My wife and I both work from home so one of us will always be giving your dog attention/supervision. We have previously owned dogs who were flight risks so we have been conditioned to keep an eye out, keep doors closed, etc. We have a big fenced-in yard and have a little indoor gate/fence that we use in the house if need be to secure a hallway, etc.

Our fur babies loved her! Julia stayed at our house for a week to watch our two dogs and cat. We did a meet and greet in our home about a month prior to our trip and immediately knew that she would be perfect. We also felt that we could trust her and liked that she was thorough and asked many questions. We will definitely be asking her to pet sit for us again and would highly recommend her to anyone in our area.

About: I’ve spent years caring for and training dogs, including raising and training four Australian Cattle Dogs—a breed known for its intelligence and high energy. Through that experience, I’ve learned how to read canine body language, reinforce good behaviors, and confidently handle dogs with different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also walked dogs for several of my mom’s clients throughout the Hockessin and Wilmington area. My focus is on providing safe, reliable, and personalized care while treating every dog as if they were my own. I am home full-time, which allows me to provide attentive, personalized care throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, enrichment, and affection. Being home full-time also allows me to closely monitor each dog’s well-being, maintain their routine, and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your dog will be cared for like one of my own in a safe, loving home environment. I have a fully fenced 0.6-acre yard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under supervision. They’ll also have the companionship of my three friendly, well-socialized dogs if they enjoy being around other dogs. Throughout the day, your pet will receive plenty of exercise, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and affection. I follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions, so they feel comfortable, happy, and at home while you’re away.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for a couple years now and I’ve always enjoyed my furry counterparts. From walking them to playing with them, I’m happy to do whatever your furry family members require, including administering any medications. I’m currently working part time as a nanny but my days are short and I have flexibility to stay over or let dogs out whenever needed. I currently have a Rottweiler named Winston, a Basenji mix named Scarlett, and cat named Tigger. They are relatively low maintenance, alerting me when it’s dinner time and walk time. I give them lots of attention and affection and they’re a very happy bunch.

About: I’ve taken care of family and friends’ dogs throughout the past few years. I provided whatever they needed whether that was feeding, walking, or playing. I’m currently working a part time restaurant job that never ends later than 10:30 pm. So I will have plenty of time to take care of pets overnight and during the day. I provide reliable, attentive care in my client’s homes by following routines, offering playtime and affection, administering medications as needed, and keeping owners updated regularly.

FAQs for House Sitting - New London

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in New London on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,656 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across New London. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New London walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New London maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in New London. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
