About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, and I truly believe they’re one of the best parts of the world. I was a dog owner for over 10 years, and after losing my sweet girl to cancer, I really missed having furry friends around. That experience reminded me just how much joy and companionship pets bring into our lives. From dogs and cats to fish and hamsters, caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I’m a family guy with a comfortable home and a safe, secure environment where your pet can feel relaxed, loved, and right at home. I have a good-sized, secure backyard where dogs can safely enjoy some outdoor time, as well as a public walking path right behind my house for those who enjoy stretching their legs and getting some exercise. I love taking dogs for walks—it’s a great way for them to get fresh air, exercise, and enrichment while keeping them happy and comfortable. I always make sure pets are supervised, cared for, and treated like part of the family while they’re in my home.

About: I've taken care of my dogs, friends' dogs, and house-sat for dog owners. I’m experienced with dogs of all energy levels and temperaments. I currently work Sunday through Wednesday, and I’m fully available Thursday through Saturday. On those days, I can give your pet my full attention and focus on their care, routine, and needs. On Sunday through Wednesday, I am available before 8 am and after 8 pm. I provide dog sitting and dog walking with a strong focus on safety, trust, and maintaining each dog’s normal routine. I am comfortable with small dogs and large dogs who need a lot of exercise.

About: I am returning to Rover after a long hiatus while pursuing my PhD. Before my beloved Stella (black pitty) passed away, we had a wonderful time dog-sitting for clients. After many years of grief and a very, very busy life in my doctoral program, I have another doggy companion, Bruce. We enjoy working from home together and are excited to care for your pets! Training my boxer, Bruce, has been such a rewarding experience, and we hope to have the chance to help others on their journeys to build strong connections between handlers and their beloved companions. Working from home allows me to adapt to different needs and routines to stick as closely as possible with your pets current routine to give them a sense of familiarity. My boxer, Bruce, knows when it is time for his meals, bedtime, or when I need to step out to run errands for the day. I intend to do the same by adapting to your pet's routine so they feel at ease.

About: Hi there! I’m Mel. I’ve had dogs in my life for over 30 years — growing up with Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Border Collies, and Labs, and later caring for high-energy breeds like Huskies, Malamutes, Pit Bulls, and Dobermans as an adult. I’m comfortable with big dogs, strong pullers, and dogs who need real exercise, but I’m just as happy with a Chihuahua curled up on the couch. I spent 8 years as a nanny, so looking after something that depends on you completely isn’t new to me — it’s second nature. I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks. I don’t board dogs in my own home, since I have a resident cat (a very opinionated tabby mix), but I’m experienced with cats too, including Maine Coons and other long-haired breeds, if you need a sitter for feline friends as well. I’ve handled the less glamorous parts of the job without blinking: medication schedules, backyard cleanup, even a dog who met a skunk face-first. My standard for every visit is simple — when you get home, your house should look better than when you left it, and your dog should be fed, exercised, and ready to sleep well. I treat your home and your animal the way I’d want mine treated. I’m self-employed, so my schedule is flexible and mostly built around dog care. I’m generally available 8am–6pm on weekdays, with some days running later. In the summer heat, I keep an eye on pavement temperature and adjust walk times so it’s safe on paws — sometimes that means earlier or later in the day rather than midday. Weekends are available with advance scheduling. I’m also happy to do drop-in visits spaced out over the day or across longer periods if that suits your dog’s routine better than a single visit. Since I don’t board dogs in my own home — I have a resident cat — all my care happens in your space, on your dog’s normal turf, which tends to be less stressful for them than an unfamiliar house. I follow whatever routine you set: meals, meds, walks, exercise. I’m comfortable administering medication, cleaning up after accidents or messes, and handling anything that comes up — I’ve dealt with a dog getting skunked, dogs with high energy who need real exercise, and the everyday logistics of keeping a home running while you’re away. My rule for every visit: your house should look better than when you left it, and your dog should be fed, exercised, and settled by the time you get home.

About: I've had cats and dogs my entire life, and volunteered at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter for a year after college. I've fostered kittens and a senior cat with medical issues, and cared for many older pets over my life. I once house sit for a family with rabbits so I have a little bit of familiarity with them. I have house sit for friends with a standard poodle and a mini doodle, including giving the standard poodle his daily medication and taking them both for twice daily trips to the park. I have also checked in on my parents' two dogs and 5+ cats to feed them, let them out for potty breaks, play with them, and give them medication. My sweet orange tabby got cancer a few years ago and I fed him three times a day through a feeding tube and administered his medication as well. I work some evenings, so I am free most of the day to care for your furry friends. I take care of my own senior kitty in the mornings, after my evening shifts, and during any free days. I have pet sat for friends and family before, including giving medication and two daily walks. I will follow all instructions to the letter and ensure your pet feels right at home.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life. I got my first pet at 11, my lovely dog mocha, and have been taking care of animals ever since. I enjoy observing and playing with almost any animal no matter size or species. I have lots of experience taking care of injured animals as more often than not I took in these types of animals growing up and even now! I have spent countless times bottle feeding baby animals as well as performing other duties a parent animal would do. Currently I am unemployed, just looking for something fun and entertaining to do while I job hunt. I plan to continue after getting a job if things work out. I am free most days of the week, the only uncertain day is Tuesday. I have two animals currently, a leopard gecko and a Bombay cat. As two wildly different animals they both have special needs I attend. My cat, jiji, is disabled and requires me to be a bit more careful than you would need to be with a cat. She has no tail but a big attitude! Beam, gecko, is about 5 years old. I adopted him from a friend who would be unable to care for him. Leopard geckos can reach 15 years old and require quite a bit attention as they are sensitive to most things. Beam is also incredibly sassy, despite only being three inches.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals at other homes since I was a kid: neighbors, teachers, family friends. I was raised by 2 cats, and my parents always encouraged us to pull our weight and help the community. People are often surprised their pets are so comfortable with me so quickly! I recently was hired to watch an anxious Jack Russel Terrier mix because the first time I met her she didn’t bark, sat in my lap, and wanted to lick me all evening, and I didn’t even have treats in my pocket! I’m navigating life with my first dog, currently learning about my new pupper and scheduling. I’m open to new clients in Greater Sacramento and short visits. I’m working with youth at a site currently. I often make dinner at home, but also like to explore the town or neighborhood I’m staying (let me know if you have a local favorite). A few nights a month I spend at ceramics, rock climbing, hiking and camping, or seeing live music. I find that each pet is completely different. I want to make them as comfortable as pawsible in their space: where do they like to spend their time, favorite toys, treats, activities, parks, and schedules. Tell me about your pets likes and dislikes! I watched 2 dogs, one loved playing fetch, but the other just wanted to hold her own ball and spin when I threw for the other dog. So cute haha!

About: I have recently started sitting for a family friends dogs. I am very reliable with walking, feeding and naturing. I have worked with senior dogs as well. I currently work from home so I have more time to take care of pets. With free time during the weekends as well. I would be able to take the animals out 2-3 time during the week on breaks. About: My name is Marissa and I'm am excited to return to Rover! My love for animals has been around since I was a child but blossomed during my time volunteering for an animal shelter. In addition to my volunteer work, I had an English Springer Spaniel for 11 years and a cat for 8 years, so I have quite a bit of experience caring for dogs and cats. I have administered oral medication, washed and walked dogs, helped train dogs, and brushed their teeth. I'm very patient with all cats and dogs and give them my full attention. I'm available most weekends and some weekdays, especially with advanced notice. Any specific requests? Let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate! I am currently working M-F from 8:00-5:00, but can accommodate weekday drop-in visits with additional notice. My main availability is on weekends and holidays. I take great care to ensure my clients’ homes are respected. I always offer to water any plants or do any small chores in addition to pet sitting.
