“As first-time Rover users, we chose Alexandra and all we can say is Alexandra is the best! She is extremely prompt & communicative and was eager to help us navigate the app and Rover support when we realized we were being charged holiday fee outside of the holiday period. You can tell she genuinely cares about the pets she cares for while the owners are away. Thanks Alex!”

About: Ever since I was 10 I've taken care of dogs. I have experience in many different ages of dogs from newborn puppies to full grown. Since it is summer your pets will always fit in my schedule! Saturday and Sunday will be the only days I can't fit your pets in. I will always be willing to feed, clean, play and walk with your pets if they need it. I can stay overnight too as well.
About: There's something about caring for dogs and cats that brings my heart alive. There's nothing I'd rather do than care lovingly attentively for these animals. I am a retired English teacher, and my time is unlimited. I prefer long term, overnight sitting in your home. I am fit and love walking and playing with your loved one. I treat them as if they were my own. Having been raised caring for my families dogs, cats, horses, cows, ducks, fish, and even peacocks, I am most comfortable with animals. I follow instructions, administer medicine when necessary, and leave your home in perfect condition as you left it. Some folks say I'm too old to do this...I know I'm not. I can walk 2 miles easily with dogs. I have described my affection for dogs and cats which I hope reflects the care I will provide, and I would be so pleased to serve you. About: What sets me apart is my experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I fostered puppies and adult dogs for four years, which gave me hands-on experience caring for dogs with different personalities, needs, and backgrounds. I also grew up with working dogs, so I am very comfortable handling high-energy breeds and understand the exercise, structure, and attention they require. Whether it's a playful puppy, an active working dog, or a senior pet needing extra patience and care, I adapt to each animal's individual needs. I am confident handling dogs on walks and prioritize safety, consistency, and positive interactions. I am comfortable working with reactive dogs as well :) I am a full time student looking to fill my summer by taking care pets instead of adopting more! I have extremely open availability, whatever your pet needs Ill be there. I wholeheartedly understand the anxiety and stress that can come with leaving your pet in someone else's care, I have those same feelings when it comes to my own pets. Because of that, I will treat your pet as if they were my own, providing them with the same love, attention, and care that I would expect for my animals. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness, along with your peace of mind, are always my top priorities. While I am caring for your pet, I will be readily available by text or phone and happy to provide updates, photos, and videos to help you feel connected and reassured while you're away. 🐾

About: I’ve loved dogs and animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent time around my aunt’s Golden Retriever and was always excited to meet and spend time with animals. In high school, I had my own Chihuahua named Aurora, which gave me experience with daily feeding, care, and companionship. I also fostered a Pit Bull from a local animal shelter during a time when the shelter was overcrowded and needed temporary foster homes. While living in Hawaii, I helped care for my cousin’s Chihuahua, Brownie, as part of my everyday routine. I fed her, cleaned up after her, spent time with her, and took her on walks, beach outings, and car rides. More recently, I’ve spent time caring for a senior rescue Pit Bull, Tyson, who has experienced neglect and multiple owners. My experiences have taught me that every dog deserves patience, kindness, and understanding. I enjoy helping pets feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while their families are away. I currently have an open schedule for the summer and am available throughout June, July, and most of August. This flexibility allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether your dog needs walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, or companionship, I can provide reliable care that fits your pet’s routine. I also understand that pet care needs can vary, so I do my best to accommodate scheduling requests whenever possible. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve been around dogs of different breeds and personalities, including Chihuahuas, Pit Bulls, and Huskies. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated throughout their stay.

I know it can be difficult finding the right care and I am here to ease that worry while reassuring you I have experience and knowledge to provide quality care. I strive to keep your pets routine and make sure they are comfortable and happy. I'm here to communicate with you and commit to you and your pets. I see myself as a form of extended family, as such I genuinely care and provide quality care. I had owners that needed me to care for special needs and request one on one care or special needs can be accommodated sometimes with additional fees but most often with the regular rates. I am able to do introductions with other animals or keep separate depending on pets temperament and owner preferences. I've taken care of pets, including my own since I was a young child. I have cared for all types of pets including cats, dogs (of all sizes) and other animals. I have experience with senior animals and puppies and have pet sat, been a dog owner and fostered. I have experience with multiple breeds and we prefer to make your pet feel at home as much as possible, so you can be at ease while away. I work from home and pets are provided care throughout the day. I know it can be hard to find someone you feel comfortable with taking care of your pet so I am to not only take excellent care of your pet but for you to rest assured your pet is in great hands. I have a fenced yard, as well as a space if you have a pet that needs to be confined or crated. I am happy to discuss needs and try to work out to make your pets stay as pleasant as possible. I ask that you provide all the things your pet is used to including schedule/ routine if you keep one so that their time away is comfortable and seamless.
“Louise is great! She takes extra care of our 60 lb pit /lab mix puppy. She is very knowledgeable of animal care and its very cognizant of individual pet needs. She’ll send you photos/videos of your pet upon request. Will be booking again soon!”

About: As a teacher my summer schedule has allowed me to dog sit for families while they are on vacation. I love building relationships with the dogs and providing families the peace of mind for a relaxing trip. I currently am off for the summer so my weekdays are completely open! I am willing to spend nights and check on pets as often as needed. I am very experienced with high maintenance and older dogs. I am comfortable with administering medicine and catering to any other unique needs. I have lived my whole life with dogs and know they have their special way of doing things. (Only eating in one place, using the restroom only when hearing the magic word, cuddling up with dirty laundry)

Northgate dog parents share their Rover experiences
Amina was great! She responded to my request quickly, was punctual and proactively communicated. My grand dog warmed to her immediately and they had a great walk. She also helped me navigate the Rover app since I’m old - lol. I highly recommend her for walks and if I lived in the Sac area full time, I would use her regularly. She gave me peace of mind knowing he was well cared for. She was professional and personable and I can’t thank her enough!

Andrea is amazing. I had a logistically complicated day, coming through Sacramento from 1.5 hours away for a doctor appointment and then continuing on for the last two hours of my trip. I'd never met her so I was worried about all the chances for something to go wrong. But everything was *perfect*. First, Andrea was amazing about staying in touch, and answered questions quickly and cheerily. She was extremely flexible, and even showed up a bit early so I'd had no reason for anxiety. My pup Willie loved his time with her and her boyfriend. It couldn't have been a better experience. Thank you, Andrea!

Tyson was immediately accepted by our dog, Chance. Then he only needed to hear the walk and feed instructions once, so keeping Chance inside of his routine as much as possible and providing us with peace of mind. Really happy with Tyson and grateful for his natural way with animals.

I have a small breed senior dog and a cat. Its hard to find someone I feel I can trust to give them the same care and attention as myself when I am away from home. Natalie is someone I know I can trust my babies with, she takes a bunch of photos each time she walks my dog and feeds him. She goes above and beyond every time and I can tell my dog and cat absolutely adore her and are happy when she comes to help. Thank you Natalie!

Payton has been a really good match for Maddy. She’s consistent, communicative, and clearly puts real effort into the walks. I appreciate that she makes sure Maddy gets good mileage while still being mindful of things like weather and pacing—especially since Maddy tends to go all in. The updates are also really helpful. I feel very comfortable having her take care of Maddy.
