“Mallory walked our dogs everyday while we were away. The dogs warmed right up and were excited to get their walk. Mallory was dependable and always walked them for the agreed upon duration, or longer. We will definitely ask Mallory to walk our dogs the next time we’re away.”

“Alexis was wonderful her second time seeing Maggie on short notice. I truly appreciate her attention to detail and taking Maggie out for a walk over to the nearby park. Above & beyond. :)”

“AMAZING! Such a great walker! She was so kind and patient with my pup who can sometimes be a bit stubborn! She took the time to make sure my pup was comfortable with her which I really appreciated. One of the best walkers I’ve ever used- highly recommend!!!”

“Our dog took to Ashlee like she was family. She was always there when she planned to be and the communication was excellent. We are so grateful for her professional approach and hometown kindness. Well done!”

About: As a lifelong dog lover, I know how much your pet means to you. With years of hands-on experience and a genuine passion for animals, I’m committed to giving your furry family members the same attentive, loving care I give my own. You can count on me to keep your pet happy, healthy, and safe while you’re away. Since I attend school part-time, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be available for pet sitting throughout the week. This gives me plenty of time to care for your pet, provide companionship, and shower them with love and attention while you’re away. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. I have a fully fenced-in yard, providing a secure space for your dog to play and relax without worry. My dog Jake is very friendly with people, children, and other dogs. He’ll come over to say hello, then head back to his bed—or ours—where he spends most of his day. You can rest assured that your furry family member will be safe and well-cared for during their stay.
“Jennie is the best dog walker/caretaker you could ever ask for! She’s been great with my Nessa, who can be leash reactive. She helped me train her, has been patient beyond belief, and has always left me detailed information about her walks. More than that, she is an all around stellar person. Would give her 6 stars if I could!”

About: I love all creatures. I personally have 3 of my own(2 dogs/1 cat) and I'm always looking to meet and care for other ppl's creatures when need be. I live near the Asheville airport & work nearby. I work day & evening shifts, which gives me time to visit creature clients. Prefer no overnights, due to my pets, but can swing a night or 2 if needed. Can do early am/late pm visits. I’ll make sure your babies are well taken care of. If they allow me I will give them lots of hugs, maybe a kiss or two. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
“I highly recommend Laina. I hired her to take and pickup Peace at daycare. Peace has anxiety and Laina was very gentle with him. She has patience, compassion and very understanding…..which is what I need when it comes to Peace. Thank you Laina! 😊👏😊👏😊👏👏👏👏❤️”

About: I've grown up with several cats. My best friend and the love of my life is a tabby cat I've had since I was 12 years old. I didn't have a dog growing up but I frequently cared for my neighbors Great Pyrenees. My first dog as an adult was a rescue coonhound mix and my current dog is a purebred Redbone Coonhound. I live in an apartment with 2 cats and a dog. I work part time at Food Lion, but I'm wanting to be a full-time pet sitter. Humans are too complicated for me. Plus it gives me the opportunity to spend more time with my dog! I live in an apartment but I'm very active. I utilize all the trails and parks in the area and I bring along my buddy Cheeto, a foster Redbone Coonhound who loves other dogs, as well as my new puppy!

About: Rescuing dogs — especially puppies — is the most rewarding feeling in life. The most important thing with our furry friends is consistency. If you're stricter with your dog, you need a sitter who'll uphold those rules, not let them slide. I've taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family for years, and I've learned that it's not about what I want — it's about honoring what the owner has built with their pet. I work with the public in my day job, so patience is second nature to me. Pets are no different. They need someone who can read their energy, stay calm, and meet them where they're at. I also love running and playing with animals. Exercise is huge — but I get that a walk isn't always about distance. Sometimes they need to run. Sometimes they need to stop and smell everything. I match their pace, not mine. I don't know if anything really sets me apart from other sitters. I just genuinely want to be there for the furry family member. My availability in inconsistent due to Firefighting but I will always respond as soon as I'm able too. I understand due to my schedule I won't the best sitter for if you need someone daily, but if you need someone to drop-in, walk your dog, or just need a night out, feel free to leave a message. Currently working for a fire department, schedule can be inconsistent. Great for drop in play times and walks. Days off from fire department can be great for unexpected care. Currently unable to have pets in home due to renting rules. Will make sure to confirm and follow all rules with you before accepting the job.
“Amazing! I reached out and they had time to take a booking right away! Great job with our two 70lb dogs on an hour long walk. So thoughtful with leaving us homemade dog treats too. Thank you Michelle and Dale!”

About: I’ve been animal-obsessed for as long as I can remember 🐾💕 I’ve worked with animals most of my life and currently work at a veterinary clinic in Brevard, so I have tons of hands-on experience with all kinds of pet needs. I’ve been pet sitting for 7 years, starting out helping friends and family, and I’ve been so lucky to have it grow through word of mouth into something I truly love doing! Caring for animals truly makes me so happy, and I treat every pet like they’re my own—spoiled, loved, and well cared for! I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to check on your babies! I can do early AM, lunch and PM visits! I also live within 5 minutes of Downtown Hendersonville so I’m easy and convenient! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I take great care to create a calm, secure environment and follow your instructions closely. I also love keeping you connected while you’re away—expect regular photo updates and I’m always happy to do FaceTime check-ins so you can see your pet happy and safe in real time!
About: I’ve cared for animals since I was about 10 years old. I’ve helped train puppies from a young age, and nursed kittens from 3-weeks old. More recently I’ve helped nurse and rehabilitate my senior dog after her major ACL surgery. She was sling bound for 6 weeks so I feel very comfortable with a large range of ages, and needs in cats and dogs. I have a huge love for all animals and believe all of them deserve love and care just like humans! I’m also here because my lovely fiancé and I just got engaged this past summer. I’m hoping to save up and earn as much money as I can to help host our dream wedding here in the mountains next year! We both love our babies and I would be happy to give your fur babies that same love and support ☺️ UPDATE: Sadly I can no longer provide overnight sittings. I AM available to do a sitting that does not require me to stay at your home overnight. I understand if this prevents you from hiring me for a sitting. I currently work remote full-time but do have some flexibility in my schedule to fit in drop-ins and walks. Wednesdays are usually when I have the most calls, but of course can try and work around my and your schedule. I’m happy to come to your home to give you that reassurance that your fur baby is doing okay while you’re away. As I said, I work fully remote so my pets pretty much have constant care unless I’m traveling for work. I typically let my dog out about 3-4 times a day depending on her needs, so I’m happy to do the same for your dog. She gets fed twice a day, as well as my cat. Every now and then we will switch out dry food for wet food just to give them both some variety, so I’m happy to do the same for your pet. You and your pet’s comfortability are my priority so I’m happy to cater to your preferences.
About: I’ve had dogs in my life for as long as I can remember and have years of experience caring for them through every stage of life. Today, my wife and I care for our Australian Cattle Dog, Dakota, whom we adopted when she was a year old. Training Dakota has given me valuable experience in understanding canine body language, behavior, and communication. I’ve learned how to recognize signs of stress, excitement, fear, and overstimulation, and how to respond in a calm, positive way to help dogs feel safe and comfortable. Whether we’re out on walks, visiting public places, or relaxing at home, I’m always attentive to a dog’s needs and surroundings. I’m comfortable following feeding schedules, administering basic care, maintaining routines, providing exercise and enrichment, and giving each dog the patience and attention they deserve. Every dog has a unique personality, and I enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel happy, secure, and loved. Above all, I believe every pet should be treated with the same care, respect, and affection that I’d want for my own! I’m currently a full-time online student and teach online part-time, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pup! I can build my own schedule, so I'm fully available. I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in the comfort of their own home and follow their normal routine. My goal is to provide dependable, personalized care that helps them feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, potty breaks, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any other routines that are important to your pet. I pay close attention to body language and behavior so I can make sure your dog is comfortable and enjoying our time together. Whether I’m stopping by for a visit, taking your dog on a walk, or staying in your home, I’ll treat your pet with patience, kindness, and the same level of care and attention I’d want for my own. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in good hands.

“Bryan was great with our dog. He kept me posted on important details I might need to know about his time with her. He was great with responding quickly when I had questions. He was patient with our dog and very trustworthy. I’d hire him again if given the chance.”

“Ryan has been a great asset in helping to raise and exercise our little puppy! Her background as a veterinarian tech makes her more than qualified for this job! She has given us tips on how to train our 12 week old puppy which is super helpful. I would recommend her to any of our friends for sure!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain Home
Denisse has been wonderful with our dog Banks. She did a thorough meet-and-greet ahead of time and took the time to get to know him before her first solo walk, which meant a lot to us. Banks can get very excited when someone arrives, and Denisse was patient and calm with him from the start. She was amazing at walking him with his gentle leader and using clicker training — she clearly knows what she’s doing and stayed consistent with how we work with him. She also went above and beyond with updates after every walk, including photos, and it was so clear he was in great hands. On top of all that, she was incredibly flexible with timing during a stretch of brutal heat and coordinated smoothly with the family member staying at our house. We felt completely comfortable leaving Banks in her care and would book her again in a heartbeat!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
