“Kristen was super with our two Labs. It's evident she loves dogs. She was very attentive to their needs, and they fell in love with her right away! Highly recommend!”

“Lacie was such a blessing! We were on vacation for a week and couldn't take our spoiled pups with us. We did have a family member housesitting for us, but they were gone most of the day for work so we had Lacie stop by to check on them and let them out every other day. She went above and beyond! She showed up on days we couldn't originally afford or schedule, just because she truly cares. She also helped with cleaning up the dog area and other little things that we didn't ask for. She kept in touch and provided updates and made us feel at ease. I know the dogs are very grateful that we found her! Most definitley would use her again for anything!”

“Our dog took to Ashlee like she was family. She was always there when she planned to be and the communication was excellent. We are so grateful for her professional approach and hometown kindness. Well done!”

“Alexis provided thorough, thoughtful, and caring mid-day walks for our pup. I was grateful that he was in such supportive hands. I highly recommend her pet care services!”

“AMAZING! Such a great walker! She was so kind and patient with my pup who can sometimes be a bit stubborn! She took the time to make sure my pup was comfortable with her which I really appreciated. One of the best walkers I’ve ever used- highly recommend!!!”

“Mallory walked our dogs everyday while we were away. The dogs warmed right up and were excited to get their walk. Mallory was dependable and always walked them for the agreed upon duration, or longer. We will definitely ask Mallory to walk our dogs the next time we’re away.”

“I highly recommend Laina. I hired her to take and pickup Peace at daycare. Peace has anxiety and Laina was very gentle with him. She has patience, compassion and very understanding…..which is what I need when it comes to Peace. Thank you Laina! 😊👏😊👏😊👏👏👏👏❤️”

About: I’ve been animal-obsessed for as long as I can remember 🐾💕 I’ve worked with animals most of my life and currently work at a veterinary clinic in Brevard, so I have tons of hands-on experience with all kinds of pet needs. I’ve been pet sitting for 7 years, starting out helping friends and family, and I’ve been so lucky to have it grow through word of mouth into something I truly love doing! Caring for animals truly makes me so happy, and I treat every pet like they’re my own—spoiled, loved, and well cared for! I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to check on your babies! I can do early AM, lunch and PM visits! I also live within 5 minutes of Downtown Hendersonville so I’m easy and convenient! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I take great care to create a calm, secure environment and follow your instructions closely. I also love keeping you connected while you’re away—expect regular photo updates and I’m always happy to do FaceTime check-ins so you can see your pet happy and safe in real time!

About: My girls and I are genuine pet lovers - I have enjoyed animals all my life, always having dogs and working as an animal control officer for a police department for four years before staying home with my kids. My middle school aged girls spend much of their time playing with our dogs and cat, visiting the neighboring farm animals, learning about animals, and seeking opportunities to interact with animals of varying kinds. We are a homeschooling family with a flexible schedule; we are reliable, on-time, and have a strong work ethic. We enjoy the opportunity to love on pets and spend quality time with them when their owners are away. We successfully boarded dogs in our home in Arizona through Rover for two years. We have experience caring for dogs, walking them and providing for their needs. We also fostered puppies for a year and worked with them through potty training and basic obedience. We love puppies! We are kind and compassionate and desire to make each pet comfortable and happy. We can provide care to senior animals who need gentler love and attention as well as dogs of all sizes. We provide drop-in cat sitting and enjoy interacting with cats and meeting their needs. We clean litter boxes, offer play time and brushing and of course petting and any attention they desire. Our drop-in services include daily visits while owners are away on vacation or for dog walking/playtime while owners are at work or gone for the day. Visits can be one-time or reoccurring, and we can drop-in 1-3 times per day depending on your pets needs. We offer basic dog grooming in the clients home for an additional fee which includes brushing, a nail trim and a bath. We would love to have your dog squeaky clean for you when you get home! As a homeschooling family we have a flexible schedule that allows us to check on animals at various times during the day. We can make mornings, afternoons or evenings work depending on your pet’s needs. When we drop in to check on your pet(s) we will carefully follow all directions provided to give them the best care possible. We will provide love and attention, set out food and replenish water, administer any medications, check to make sure they are well and happy and that nothing looks awry with their environment. We enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them inside the house or in the yard. We clean litter boxes and provide any other care needed for each animal. We offer basic dog grooming in the clients home for an additional fee.
About: I have grown up around animals all my life and I love being a pet parent. I enjoy fostering needy animals, especially seniors. I also work at the Humane Society and I am pursuing my degree in Veterinary Technology. I currently work part time at the Asheville Humane Society. Working part time allows me plenty of time to drop in and care for your babies. I have experience working with animals and will show them all the love and affection as if they were my own babies. I will help them feel comfortable while their humans are away. I have experience working with all different types of animals and I love to help them come out of their shell.
About: I have always had a dog, and currently have a super sweet and high energy vizsla/pit bull mix. She loves to run and so do I. I've spent years volunteering at the Humane Society walking dogs, and have done several adoption events with Mountain Pet Rescue. I work from home and am flexible with my availability. I am usually available on short notice if necessary and can check on your pet any day of the week. I am happy to follow whatever routine your pet is used to. I understand how important schedules are for some pets and will make sure they are kept on the schedule that they are familiar with. We can go for walks, play in the yard, or work on commands inside the home if it's raining and they need mental stimulation. Or we can cuddle up on the couch if that's their vibe.

“Derek is reliable, knowledgeable and accessible. So grateful to have his assistance in caring for our 4 legged family member on our busy days. He has provided our family with reassurance and kept our girl happy. So thankful for his help!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
