“Thom was the absolute BEST dog sitter I have ever had. And I have been using rover for years! He sent me frequent pictures, videos, and updates of my girl while she was there. He took amazing care of her and handled her high energy so well! He is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and so kind. I have never felt more comfortable leaving my girl with a new sitter. I recommend him to everyone!”

About: I’ve always been around animals and have always loved them! I approach very gently and bring snacks or treats as long as it’s allowed and no allergies, toys of course, walks to parks if allowed, to pools, I just love spoiling pets in the best ways they can be! If you need me to put any medication or give anything I can do that for you! I work full time but am able to take as much time to walk pets or run any errands I need to, I’m in car sales so it’s pretty lenient, any time off I’m available to do anything I just clean at home or hangout with my Godchild and best friend! Making sure anything is put away that can be broken or torn; I always call it baby proofing the house because if it’s baby proofed it’s pet proof, as long as no baby toys are around lol. In my home; I separate my kittens from the other pets and assure they get along first and let them smell any of their toys or anything that has their scent and vise versa to get them accustomed to the other animal
“Julie was a wonderful sitter for my Penelope. She was very communicative, sent plenty of updates and pictures. She has a completely fenced in yard where Penelope could roam freely! And she was very flexible considering I booked las minute! I highly recommend Julie for all of your pet care needs!”

About: I grew up around pets in the home my whole childhood and i absolutely love animals and taking care of them! I want to provide animals with a loving environment I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! my schedule varies but i’m available most days after 2-3 and preferably the weekend. I do not have a fenced in yard but I can take your pets to the park, i do not own any other animals either.
“Amanda did a wonderful job! Very friendly. Took great care of our two dogs. And provided an update every day we were gone, sometimes including photos. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I’ve been working with pet, law enforcement, and military dogs for 4+ years in both the training and handling aspects of things. I’ve trained over a thousand or so dogs in that span of time, both for businesses I worked for and now I do it on my own. I understand dogs extremely well and I’m happy to follow instructions on what keeps your dog the happiest. When your dog is with me, they have a companion in human form while you are away and we will do as many things to embrace their unique canine personalities. If that’s swimming, walking, ball, tug, or doing tricks for food, that’s what they will get. Beyond that, I simply love dogs and I have and will be working with them for a long, long time.
“I had the chance to board my male pit bull mix. Cara was so wonderful with him taking him on numerous walks but also let him enjoy the downtime. A thoughtful and caring provider for your furry family member. Jump at the chance to book Cara!!!”

“Lori was such a fantastic sitter for Ladybug: she is passionate, meticulous, and committed to what she does! During Lady's stay, Lori sent frequent update photos and messages; I was also at ease that Ladybug was in great care. Will definitely book with Lori again!”

“My girl Maple had a great time at Alyson’s house! I loved how many pictures I got throughout the week — as an anxious dog mom, seeing Maple having fun and feeling cozy really helped me enjoy my own trip more. We will definitely rebook for future travels.”

About: I have done small dog rescue and dog boarding for 20 years. I am familiar with special needs and senior dogs and have done some obedience training. Also available for farm and horse care close to Blountville. I am semi-retired and live with my 3 small dogs. I spend a lot of time with my own dogs and love having dogs come and stay with us instead of going to a kennel. I strive to provide a stress-free environment so your furbaby can be as comfortable as possible. I have a fenced-in yard and extra bedrooms for your dog to stay in. I love dogs and my own dogs are very accustomed to visiting pets. I have been pet sitting for 20 years and love doing it.
“Carola is such a wonderful pet sitter!! She takes such good care of my Susie; she sends me daily photos & updates & I never have to worry about Susie’s well being. Carola is a blessing to our family 😊”

“Amy and Jason are amazing!! Very welcoming!! Prepared; Mochi is part of their family when there, they treat her as one of their own! Could not have asked for more…Mochi returns home very calm and gets back into real life at home quickly. Thank you! If you are hesitant; don’t be!!”

“Ken and Leslie are outstanding sitters. I feel money leaving my precious Gully with them. A home away from home. They are always doing activities with the dogs and Gilly loves to stay there with his buds. I highly highly recommend them. I drive an hour there and back so what does that tell you?”

“Lilly did a great job with Ruby and texted us daily with updates and pictures. We will definitely choose Lilly for future boarding needs and give her our highest recommendation.”

“Mallory and her husband are very nice, and very flexible. She will take a picture of my dog and text to me. My dog had fun staying with them. Will definitely recommend Mallory as your dog sitter.”

“Amanda was awesome. We had to leave Pringles for an 8 night trip and I was very at ease knowing he was with someone that would take absolute care of him and treat him as her own. She kept me updated and sent pictures. I would absolutely recommend Amanda to anyone.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Carmel
Carly was such a blessing for our boy. He's very clingy and needs to be around someone, so traditional boarding where he's left alone for around 12 hours wasn't doing him well when we went on trips. With Carly he was able to have company and we were able to have peace of mind that he wasn't lonely and frequent updates on him as well!

Natalie was amazing! Super nice, knowledgeable about dogs and boarding, and so welcoming! Our doggo Jordi took a liking to her immediately and we were so happy to leave him in the care of a loving family instead of a nameless/faceless boarding facility. Jordi only stayed one night, but we received multiple photos and videos and messages about his activities and it was such a relief knowing he was so well cared for. We will definitely use Natalie to board Jordi in the future when the need arises again and we will be recommending her to any friends in need of pet sitting as well. Thank you so much, Natalie!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
