“I met with Kevin for a getting to know you mutual interview and asked him to drop in a few days for visits. He’s super thorough with his questions and got along well with all the animals. His interest in their welfare is definitely clear. Everything was done as asked and really appreciated the reports and photos!”

“Natalie has been great with taking care of our two golden retrievers for drop in visits. She is always on time and communicates with us on any concerns she has. Phoebe and Winston enjoy having Natalie around!”

“Maleny has done two drop in visits for me so far and she has been great. Super punctual even though the time is not that important to me. Takes lots of pictures and gives me great updates. She provides a lot of peace of mind to me when I’m gone at work for long days. Grateful for her service!”

“Javier is a positive and gentle person to have around my old dog. He has been patient with him and has gone over and above with caring for him while I’m a way I appreciated the time he spent with me to help my dog be more comfortable with him. (My dog had a recent trauma.) I recommend him highly.”

About: I grew up with a dog, and have always lived with either a dog or cat as an adult. My heart just fills with joy when I am around all four legged friends. I currently work full time as a pediatric medical assistant, but would be happy to come by after work to take care of any sweet dog or cat. Currently do not take care of of animals at my current residence as I am living with family who prefers to be pet free, but I am happy to come to you!
“Nicole did great with our pups! We felt very comfortable leaving our dogs at home knowing she was going to take care of them. Nicole sent great photos after every drop in visit and kept us updated while we were away!”

“Shawnee did an amazing job taking care of my cats , they both were comfortable with her right away. She went out of her way to check on a problem we had with our automatic feeder, thankful for that. We received photos daily and updates on our cats. I’ll definitely book her again when we need someone to watch over our cats.”

About: I've been called a dog whisperer too many times to count! I absolutely love dogs, cats, and other furry or feathered friends. I grew up with guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. I'm experienced in cage-cleaning, play time, giving medication, walking, and light training. I have pet-sat for several dogs, cats, and smaller friends. I highly respect any rules or training routines you and your fur babies adhere to. As long as I have clear instructions, I will stick to your guidelines. I have friends whose dogs have high-maintenance routines, and I know how awful it is when someone else interferes with those routines. I will love your pets like my own, but I will absolutely follow whatever expectations you set. I have flexible availability this summer. I am a student in an accelerated degree program for elementary education. I have July and August off, which allows me lots of time to become your pets' new bestie! I can care for pets in your home. If you are in need of any other cleaning or home services when I visit or stay at your home, that can be arranged. I also believe in leaving things better than I found them. You won't even know I was there!
About: My wife, Connie, a retired nurse, and I have had six dogs over 35 years. We miss them dearly. I have raised dogs from puppyhood through their senior years so I understand the patience, structure and affection that go with it. I am retired from my legal practice of 35 years, and very active. I love long walks and have a nice fenced backyard if pet sitting is needed. Only your dog(s) will be in our care during your booking. Whether your pup needs long walks, gentle companionship or just someone who treats them like family I’m committed to make them feel safe, loved and genuinely cared for. After being self-employed for 35 years I am looking for something to keep me busy and I can’t think of a better way to spend my time and I have a very flexible schedule. In my home I will provide a warm, clean environment, plenty of attention and lots of outdoor activity since I’m active and retired, with plenty of time to give. And again, your pup will be the only one I care for during his/her stay…
About: I’m a veterinary technician with experience in both small and large animal care, and I spent four years rescuing and fostering animals. In my free time I do TNR for feral cats and walk shelter dogs. I provide calm, attentive care, and I’m comfortable with pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I minored in Human-Animal Relations and can read animal body language very well. I have a hugeeee focus on safety and will never put your pet in an unsafe situation. Mostly, I am just a huge animal lover. Getting to take care of your pet will be a treat for me. My favorite breed of dog is either a pitbull or a corgi. But my favorite animal is a cat :) I am a recent college graduate trying to start a business and would love to do this as a break whenever I can! I have a flexible schedule because of this. I have a large yard with plenty of space for pets to run and play. My property includes both fenced and unfenced areas, so I can safely supervise pets in a variety of settings.
“Lily is awesome! She takes great care of Shy and Shy loves her. I always know Shy is in good hands when Lily is watching her. Lily keeps me updated with pictures and texts. She's 100 percent reliable and professional. I highly recommend Lily and grateful to have her watch Shy.”

About: I don’t live in Aurora, but I split my time between Portland and Salem. If you live in the Portland area or Salem area or anywhere in between, I am happy to help you with your pet sitting needs. I grew up with cats, dogs, and chickens. My earliest pet care was at the age of 10 taking care of my neighbors dogs and cats while they were gone. In my adult life, I've had one cat and 4 dogs. My current dog is a Standard Poodle named Percy. He's a huge love! I know your pets are your heart, too. I strive to give your pets my best love and care while you're gone, just like I would want someone to give Percy! I currently work from home, so I can pop in or stay over easily. I would hope that your pet is able to walk with Percy, because he would hate to be left out of the fun. Each pet is unique and will be respected. Grouchy kitty under the bed?? I’ll say hello extra sweet and then leave them be. Tigger-like active puppy? Let’s throw some balls in the yard! The pet that thinks my lap is theirs? Good snuggles and lots of sweet talk, for sure! Let’s chat and see what your pet needs.
“I was very pleased with Lindsay's care for my pups during her drop in visit. I am hesitant to trust anyone with my fur babies, but she gave me a good feeling right away during our meet and greet. She was gentle and calm. She showed up on time and sent some pics which helped me feel safe. I will be reaching out to Lindsay again!”

About: Hello all! My name is Alli and I have owned a dog and cat (and other pets) since I was 5 years old and understand how important and special these furry friends can be to their families. I know that each pet has their own personality and quirks and will try my best to accommodate their needs and your needs. I look forward to meeting all of your four legged friends! I know how important it is to keep our pets healthy and sometimes life gets busy. So I’m here to help take things off your plate! I care for pets as I would want someone to care for my own. Every pet is different so I try to learn as much as I can about each one and meet each of their individual needs.
About: I have a pretty flexible schedule, and have experience with all sorts of animals and as long as you teach me I'm fine with pets who need meds, or have special diets. I have 2 dogs at home, and 1 cat and i have experience with other animals too. I am licensed so transportation isn't an issue. I'm just trying to earn a little extra cash while going to school, and I love animals so being able to spend time with pets makes me happy. I am 23 years old. I am a stay at home mom, so I pretty much have the whole day available, especially if I can bring my son along, he’s only 5 months so I often wear him in a carrier when I walk my own 3 active high energy breed dogs! I try to treat them as my own, I’m a big animal lover so I’ll do everything in my capacity to make sure your pet is loved and comfortable while your away.
“Angela and Allie were AWESOME!! They took care of my two dogs for a full week, came by multiple times per day, including early in the morning and late at night. They even took care of extra things like washing the dog blankets midway through the week, after days of rain. I got daily updates, and Angela quickly alerted me to and then addressed an issue with my one dog's apparent food allergy, all without panic or drama - just completely competently and calmly. I highly recommend them without hesitation or reservation.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
