“Ayme was a very patient and loving Mom for nervous furry family member. She sent happy pictures, reassured Naomi and gave her love. I feel I can leave her in this positive environment.”

“Myrna was fantastic. She has a pool for all the doggies. She sent photos and communited throughout Starbuck's stay. Starbuck had such a great time that when we picked her up she didn't want to leave. We will definitely be using Myrna again!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough wonderful things about Miguel and his wife! They took amazing care of my fur baby, Church, for the past three days, and the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we met, Miguel made sure that Church felt comfortable and safe, even introducing him to their own dog to help them get along. His understanding of dog language, especially with big dogs like mine, is truly impressive. Miguel and his wife are such pleasant, caring people. They kept me informed every step of the way, sending updates and even videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. They’re incredibly accommodating, even fitting us in on short notice, which I really appreciated. Church came back home happy, tired, and clearly well-loved. I could tell he had a great time because he’s been so content and relaxed. I’m beyond grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and the genuine care they showed my dog. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and amazing with dogs, Miguel and his wife are the best choice. Thank you both so much! How does that look? About: I’ve been a dog lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. I genuinely see animals as family, and I believe they deserve the same love, patience, and attention we give our children. Friends know they can trust me with their pets, and I’ve cared for my best friend’s pug whenever she travels, making sure he feels loved, comfortable, and keeps his routine. My goal is to provide every pet with a safe, nurturing environment where they can feel happy and at home until they’re reunited with their family. Your pup will enjoy a calm, clean, and cozy home where they’ll be treated like part of the family. I work around a flexible schedule, allowing plenty of time for potty breaks, walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles, and rest throughout the day. My apartment community features a fenced dog park, and we’re surrounded by beautiful walking trails that are perfect for exercise and sniff adventures. Whether your dog loves to play or prefers a peaceful place to relax, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. As someone who naturally enjoys caring for both children and animals, creating a warm, loving environment comes easily to me. I’m patient, attentive, and believe every dog has their own unique personality and needs. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playing fetch, lounging on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they receive personalized care, plenty of affection, and regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Matt is fantastic. My dog Ru loves going to his house so much that she sprints to his front door and will not look back for me at all. She has a great time with him and when I pick her up she is happy and tired in the best way. He clearly has a great understanding of dogs and is very professional and communicative. I feel completely confident leaving my girl there and I know she has the absolute best care.”

About: For the past 5 years, I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends, caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a natural instinct for their needs and a deep love for every wagging tail and wet nose. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cozy cuddles, I treat every pup like a part of the family. I work 7:30a-4p during the week but will gladly take care of your fur babies before and after work. I am usually available on the weekends to provide care for your pets! I am always very conscious of keeping pets indoors and leashed. Keeping your pet safe and out of harms way is my #1 priority. I will also make sure your pet is healthy and happy!
About: Lifetime lover of furry animal friends - adopting my puggle and in turn, her puppy sister/bff the Norfolk Terrier were easily the two best decisions I ever made. You can rest assured that your doggies are safe, comfortable and pawtying down with me by their side. My girls have warm blankets waiting in the dryer when we come in from cold walks. I believe in going a few extra miles to truly spoil our fur ball angel nuggets bc why not? Being greeted by them when you walk through the door is the best thing ever and I have been caring for animals the majority of my life. This is the most rewarding, satisfying and not to mention FUN "job" of all time, pick me
About: With 20 years hands-on experience caring for animals, I am your go-to pet sitter and walker that resides in the charming downtown Richmond neighborhood of Church Hill. My passion for animals shines through in every interaction, whether is a playful game of catch or a relaxing cuddle session. Living in Church Hill, I’m intimately familiar with all the local parks, trails and pet-friendly spots in Richmond and the surrounding areas. I’m available to come to you or can host your furry friend. My top-notch’ care includes regular updates including pictures to give you peace of mind and ensuring that your beloved family members are happy and well-cared for while you’re away. When I’m not busy caring for your pets, you can find me playing a game of keep away or snuggled up with my own Cocker Spaniel named Hagrid. We like to explore and travel when we aren’t hosting new friends. Mostly recently, we enjoyed visiting our furry friend Ajax with his family of cats and humans in Vermont. If you’re looking a reliable, compassionate and experienced sitter/walker, please reach out! I’m a business consultant who works from home. I make my own schedule and have flexible hours throughout the week/weekends that makes hosting/sitting or walking easy. I have a fenced in backyard and one friendly cocker spaniel who can keep your baby busy. I can easily crate if that is what you desire, but they can play together through out the day and have multiple outside breaks/walks
“Despite the late request, Ross answered very quickly and was able to arrange a brief meeting the same night for Murdoch and his dog to meet. The day after, we left Murdoch with Ross and Ava and everything went monthly with a few pictures of Murdoch's day. I recommend Ross and Ava !”

About: I have had animals my entire life. I love taking care of them and filling their lives with lots of pets and love. I currently have 3 dogs, ranging in ages 1-12. I have experience with reactive dogs, puppies, cats, and senior dogs. Excited to take care of your fur baby I’m currently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. I’m currently on summer break so I have plenty of time to take care of your fur babies. It is very important to me that all animals are safe and well cared for. I will follow all your instructions including walking and feeding schedule, as well as giving medication timely “ if applicable”.
“We’ve had Peyton care for our horses, cats and dogs for years, long before she joined River. Never had a problem and she’s always provided a secure, loving caring and healthy environment for our pets and animals. She adores animals, and is very knowledgeable in their care and training.”

“Jasmine was great with our little puppy Bear! We had something come up last minute and she was available to take care of him at her house. Jasmine sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day and Bear came home a happy sleepy pup! Will definitely be using Jasmine’s services again in the future!”

About: Hi! My name is Trinity! I am 26 years old I LOVE animals. All types. And I own three dogs. (Pitbull, yorkie-poodle, chihuahua) and two cats. My friends like to call it a funny farm lol. They are my pride and joy and I’ve been caring for the Yorkie poodle since I was 10 years old. I am extremely loving and responsible with all of my pets and know alot about animals due to me going to school to be a veterinarian (I dropped out haha) You can trust that your dog will be well taken care of and even make friends with my fur-babies if you don’t mind them being out of crate! ( I will of course crate my dogs if that is preferred) I am available to train, clean litter boxes, potty train, bathe, and walk with playtime! I am a social media content creator/musical artist full time. Because of this the nature of my everyday life is sitting home a lot. I am there full-time. And my schedule is very flexible especially during the day. I’m just looking for fun new ways to make some side change that can fit into my everyday routine I live in a 3 bedroom 4 bathroom townhome with a designated room just for the pets! Has a bed they are allowed to sleep on. Feeding station, and toys. They are free to roam anywhere they like in the house apart from my bedroom and allowed on furniture as well. My pets get walked two-three times a day, playtime, and fed twice a day as well. There are three dogs so they entrain themselves a lot of the day if they aren’t napping with me. All of my animals get along well and are not aggressive. They sometimes are even too friendly! One of my dogs recently tried to go home with a family from the dog park lol! They are all boys and so they bark a lot, but they do not bite or attack other dogs.
“Michelle took good care of my pup. Her dog Milo is a sweetie. She has a nice yard for them to play in and my dog also enjoyed relaxing by her side on the couch.”

About: I've loved dogs for the longest time and ever since I've had my own, you quickly realize they are more than a pet, they are family. My dog and I will treat your dog just like family during their visit. I succeeded well in training my dog on my own from house training, to off leash, to playing hide and seek, and I understand the important component of upholding and instilling any of your training while you're not present. As of June 30th, I no longer work remotely, but work very close to home. I still will have plenty of time to give your pup comfort and attention throughout the day. I am available most weekdays and weekends, but may become more limited depending on the season. I have 1 dog, a small Yorkshire Terrier who is known as Mr. President because he loves to greet and befriend each pet or person he sees, no matter the size. He is super friendly and playful and would love to be a great friend and playmate with your pup. I can easily crate your dog if needed with one you provide or with one of my own crates or expandale play pens. My yard is open, but there is plenty of space for fun. I enjoy long walks, so if your pup needs to get in multiple miles, I can make that happen. I have a multi level townhome. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the home except for the kitchen. If your dog loves the outdoors, i have a small deck and a small enclosed front balcony they can hang on. There are plenty of toys and puzzles, but you are of course welcome to provide their favorite toy.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Montrose
I had concerns about low fencing which wasn’t a problem. Stacey was able to get a long tie out cable where Mase was able to roam and explore her large yard. She was responsive and sent updates and pictures! Stacey will definitely be seeing Mase again in the near future!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
